We needed a leak found and called Earl's thinking they could do the leak detection and repair! Well not only did they schedule and reschedule for coming out to find the leak they charged almost $1,000.00 for 2 hours worth of work. If I knew they wouldn't be getting the job done in its entirety I would have called American leak detection and another plumber. Also, weird side note, when asking for an itemized invoice they said that they normally don't provide those. On the positive, I did manage to get an invoice and the leak was approx. where they called out. read more

You're being warned, Do as You will. Well, unfortunately the Negitve reviews are accurate! The past 3 years I've used them, now comes to an end! Yes they are likely the most expensive Plumbers in the county, do little and take your money and run. I felt robbed from illequiped "plumbers" who really didn't seem to know what they were doing. First two who's running around in circles looking like they really didn't know what they ever doing or looking for. You won't find a water Main in the backyard or planters or around the foundation. They came to find a water leak, I showed them the meter and where the leak is noticeable. I mentioned a few times, I believe it to be in the irrigation system. They came with nothing on the truck to search for this type of leak. Within the first 2 hours I suggested they scrape the dirt away from the area around the water meter, a valve has to has to be in that area and to include the box where the regulator is located. About a half hour later goes for help, comes back with I feel someone else who was as ill-equipped and not as knowledgeable. Two hours later tells me they found the the irrigation cover and shut the valve off!! Good, Took them four hours to look where I suggested two hours earlier to look for the valve! Yes it's in the irrigation system! No, Really?? There isn't anyway for them to locate the spot of the leak because they lack any experience or equipment for this job, but were sent out anyway. I was hosed for what little they did for $1600.00!! Insult to injury, I had to request they clean up after themselves, but still they leave three holes they dig up! Earls Professional Plumbing isn't so professional! One of the "plumbers" has done irrigation work in the past, which makes him qualified for my job? Over the years they have gotten over $7+K from us, no more! You have been warned! read more

I needed a tech to install an expensive bidet seat for my elderly mother who had recently had a stroke and was coming home from the hospital rehab. They were able to send someone the next morning to do that job and a few other things - replace the 15 yr old mechanism in the upstairs master toilet, replace the seat on the toilet in the hallway, tighten the faucet in the kitchen, check to see where the water was leaking under the kitchen sink. He suggested getting a tile guy to fix the grouting around the sink but tightened up the faucet which had been wobbly for about 18 months. In and done within 2 hours. Professional, friendly, affordable service! Definitely recommend. read more

I was using these plumbers for a while on my rental units but the last job I tried to get them to do they gave an outrageously high estimate and even after we accepted it they never communicated further with us. They even harassed me saying I couldn't use the $25 coupon because I used them for on other jobs even though they kept giving me new ones. To nickel and dime me for wanting to use a $25 coupon for a job that's going to cost over $1,000 turned me off to these people. We were able to get an appt. the following day we called. Will came out and quoted us later in the day and then ended up coming out the next day to do the work we discussed so he could have some daylight. He serviced our leaky toilet and installed a water shut off valve. The price was exactly as quoted. Will worked his tail off getting us all squared away and helped us get our bathroom operational again. We added a mini request while he was on site and he took care of it without any issues. I was impressed with his service and work ethic. I ended up doing their yearly water heater maintenance agreement and got the water heater flushed that same day. I plan to use them for any future plumbing needs. read more

Well, I had to call Earls again for something different. It seems that my bath tub drain pipe slipped out of the drain pipe it was supposed to be in and there was a leak. ALSO, the mice under the house ate a big hole in the pipe. I called Earls and they were able to send someone out. They charged me 49.00 for about a 14 inch pipe. Another 45.00 to remove a saddle that was on one pipe that they said I didnt really need. And another 200.00 for doing the work. They should have left the saddle (whatever that is) on and not charged me for removing it. I wont call them again and I told my friends not to use them. Highway robbery... read more

Earl's has been great. We've used them a few times for various issues and they've always been clear and concise and done a great job. We were already using them but then got a referral to ask for Scott. Scott has been great, above and beyond and a quality of service that's rare these days. So, now.. we ask for him. Our other service guys from Earl's have also been great, but we really like Scott. He's been very clear on advising us what to do, and recommendations for future repairs considerations. The service is excellent, however, I find that over $300 to replace 2 hoses under a sink a little excessive. How much do 2 hoses cost? The tech did a great job but I think in the future I will find a plumbing company with more reasonable rates. I was also quoted a price of $1,100 to replace the hoses under 3 additional sinks! This is a company that should be run out of town! They destroyed any faith I would ever have in their ability to be fair, and forthright. At Christmas time they were advertising on the radio if we used them for repair they would give us a 25 dollar certificate. Well, we never got ours in addition they charged us several hundred to tell us both toilets on our property needed to be replaced. If that is so why are they still working today when we got them apart, I should say, and was able to find a cassette tape a grandchild had put down one and the other had something else in it. They were put back with $10.00 in new seals and still years later work great. Avoid using these idiots and tell them Carrie and Gary Gilliam did not send them!! We gave them over $200.00 and realized we did not even get our gift certificate. That was a nice Christmas Earl's plumbing! read more

The work they did was very good but I have a beef about their accounting. When the job was finished we were given an invoice with the total amount and we paid by check and requested a receipt be sent showing the charges. I received an email with just the total amount, no breakdown. I called the office and requested an itemized receipt showing labor, parts, etc. I was told that such a receipt is not available. I inquired as to why and was told it was in house information and not available to the public. What!! First the arc handle of our faucet fell off. Then, while trying to put it back on, we inadvertently loosened the gooseneck faucet, which began twirling around. Realizing we were getting nowhere as "do it yourselfers" we called Earl's. Gordon came out and was very nice and fixed everything very quickly. I have a home warranty, but hate dealing with the random companies they send out. After hiring a non communicative plumber for my last repair, on my own, I wanted to call around and see who might be helpful with my other plumbing issues. I had a few things going on , and I needed someone to take the time to address my different concerns. The lady on the phone was awesome, and really helpful. They booked me right away for a free estimate at my home. She told me they accept my warranty company, and if I'm happy with the estimate process I could request them to be sent under the warranty claim. They sent a clean, nice, professional plumber named Scott. He was great! Answered every question and concern I had, and even wore those paper booties on his shoes when entering the house. I was happy with the process and hired them for the repair. They sent Scott back out, quickly,and on time. He got right to work and did everything on the list fast and properly. He was helpful and friendly ,and when he was done he asked me if I had any questions. I really liked this company because they are very responsive, appointment times were very quick and they showed up within the 2 hour window, with an advance phone call both times. Called Earl's after noticing our water heater was leaking. They sent a technician right away. Great service from Scott and Will! They explained all of the options with our broken water heater and gave three estimates depending on which chose. We went with a new tankless unit which was installed in under 24 hours. I am providing two reviews: One for Rob Sheats, who came out recently in response to a Home Warranty service call. The second review is for Earl's Performance Plumbing in general. I rate Rob Sheats as 5-Stars and Earl's Performance Plumbing overall as 2-Stars. Rob Sheats: Rob provided excellent service in responding to a Home Warranty service call. He was prompt, respectful and thorough in making his diagnosis of the problem with my Tankless Water Heater. Rob literally spent hours on the phone with the manufacturer as they worked together to methodically check out each part of the system and finally identified and corrected the problem. Throughout the process, Rob kept me informed of his progress. He was a total professional and I would gladly have him come out again in the future. Overall, I was totally pleased with his work and my water heater is now up and running again. Earl's Performance Plumbing: The reason I have only rated Earl's Performance Plumbing as 2-Stars is because I believe it charges excessively high prices for at least some of the work it performs. I recently had a larger propane line installed in preparation for a whole house generator along with the tankless water heater mentioned above. Frankly, I was shocked when I received the bid and believe it was at least 2 times higher than it should have been. I questioned the Earl's Performance technician about the bid, but he could only reduce it by $500. Unfortunately, with the massive new construction work following both the Carr and Camp Fires, I couldn't find another plumbing company that could meet my timeline, so I had to bite the bullet and pay the exorbitant prices (over $6000 for this project) Earl's charges. I can only surmise that Earl's overhead costs are exceptionally high, because neither the labor nor material costs could have driven such a high bid. Lesson learned: Start earlier when planning a project to provide the time necessary to find a plumbing company that makes a reasonable profit, but doesn't gouge the customer with excessively high prices to cover its operational overhead. To say I am disappointed by this experience is an understatement, and I won't make the same mistake twice. There have to be other plumbing companies out there who's prices are far more reasonable. read more

After another plumbing company told us it would be a month, a MONTH, before they could even send someone out to give us an estimate on a plumbing repair, leaving one bathroom inoperable, I called Earl's. Within two hours a service person was at our home and gave us some options for repair versus replacement of the broken fixture. The service person, Will, was extremely polite and helpful in explaining the advantages and drawbacks of repair versus replacement. We decided on repair and were able to schedule it for the next day. Ok so we bought our house on Thursday, moved in on Friday and that night all the drains were backed up. First let me say before we moved to Shasta County I worked at several plumbing companies, including one that worked with home warranty companies. Since we had a warranty on our house I decided to utilize it. Although I was very concerned because it has been my experience that those plumbing companies are horrible. I called the warranty company which had not received payment from escrow yet and couldn't verify anything because it was a Friday night. They suggested I call a plumber and the submit a claim to be reimbursed. I decided to use who they use because I didn't want them to tell me later the plumber I picked wasn't covered. They gave me the number for Earl's. First thing I did was read the reviews, I was surprised and thought it looked promising. I called Friday at 11pm but told them it could wait until morning. When I scheduled they wouldn't quote a price over the phone. All the plumbing companies I worked for and know do this. It is really freaking annoying. If I wait 2 hours for someone to show up and they give me some crazy price then I'm gonna be more pissed because my time was wasted. Will showed up and gave me an extremely reasonable price. He went the extra mile which I really appreciate. He did great work and figured out the problem. He made sure I got the best deal by giving me a bonus membership which pretty much paid for itself. I don't know if Earl's gives bonuses to their employees but if they do give one to Will. I would recommend this company and this plumber to everyone!!! read more
