After just shy of $10k, 8 trips back to the store, and a month of listening to systems with…read moreissues.... We will NOT be back. I had 2 sound systems installed in 2 brand new vehicles. When i picked up the Bronco, Joel Joseph had "misunderstood" me and did an additional $600 worth of sound deadening. Then I paid for Alpine S69c speakers, and they installed Alpine E series speakers, causing the amp to fry them. Then They broke clips in one of the speaker grills (they replaced after they realized i knew) . They did not install one of the covers that go over the speaker, and caused vibrations. Then they installed another amp incorrectly, and caused another set of speakers to blow. Then I keep finding little nicks and scratches on the trim. Then they charged me for a specific subwoofer, and then its on back order, so they put a cheaper subwoofer in, and charged me full price for more expensive subwoofer. After install, the chime was twice as loud, and when opening the doors, the ding is way too loud. I asked them to fix, but they said they didnt turn it up and it wasnt their fault, even though it wasnt that loud before. I asked for a full refund, and to return the cars to stock, they refused to give a refund. So here now im here to warn folks to be careful when dealing with them.... Check your stuff. Im sure Joseph will respond to this saying they do good work and they guarantee their stuff, and if i had an issue i should go up there etc etc.... Well Joel.... i did. 8 times. Im done giving you chances to get stuff right that should have been done right the 1st time. 10k should have gotten me 2 AMAZING sounding systems.... instead i got 2 systems that sound like they came from Buckner.

I wrote up a list of what I wanted and sent it to the car stereo installers that had the best reviews on Yelp, including one I had used in the past. I must have sent this to 5 of the top-rated car stereo installers in Dallas. And guess what? None of them could respond intelligently to the requirements that I put together except for Joseph's Auto Toy Store. My challenge was that Joseph's did not have a 4 or 5 star rating on Yelp--although the shop does on Facebook and Google. So, I kept trying to get the other car stereo installers to respond to me via email and Facebook Messenger and Yelp messenger. I even tried calling a couple of times and got 'voicemail box is full.' (That is a huge pet peeve of mine--clear your voicemail boxes people!) And after 3 weeks of this, I replied to Joseph's via a Yelp message and explained my dilemma. Joel, the owner, replied back that they've been in business 36 years and have great customer and supplier relationships. He replied to my messages via Yelp so fast. So, I figured I'd give him a try. Yesterday, I stopped by and got my stereo installed. There were some complications that I think other car stereo shops would've taken longer to fix -- like a part was missing and it was raining. Joel called in a favor and had someone drive the part to us in the rain, even with all the Dallas traffic. Once installed, there was an issue with the steering wheel controls, and they caught the issue on their own --without me having to notice it--and used a hardwiring work around because there were no manufactured connectors available to match the unique configuration of the stereo and my vehicle. This did take longer than I expected, but I know that with any of the other shops I called -- who couldn't put two sentences together over text or email -- that I wouldn't have received my car back yesterday and that I'd still be waiting. My overall assessment of this Joseph's Auto Toy Store is that this place is run by professionals who know what they're doing and can communicate clearly. Unfortunately, no other shop I called--including Best Buy--gave me this impression. If you're a buyer that appreciates workmanship and communication, this is the place for you.

Don and Justin took care of me after Clay Cooley Hyundai in Dallas tried to rake me across the…read morecoals. I get my oil changes at the dealership and they did that and after that was completed, the service advisor tells me that my oil pan was leaking and that I needed to replace it. The cost was $530. The advisor continued by telling me that the passenger side front axle had grease all over it and that that repair would cost $2150. I was suspicious and untrusting of Clay Cooley simply because of the entire situation, so I had seen online Dwight's & Don's Auto Care and I decided to give them a try. I met with Justin and explained my situation and he presented himself as a truthful guy and I decided to give them a try. Well, after everything was done, my oil pan didn't need to be replaced. It was the oil filter housing assembly that needed to be replaced because it's plastic and had broken. As for the front axle and the grease, Don told me that they cleaned it up and that the boot wasn't torn and that there was no reason for any further repair. So, after going to see Dwight's and Don's Auto Care, I went from a possible $2100 repair bill to a $400 repair bill. My Palisade SUV is running good and I highly appreciate Justin's and Don's sincere honesty. This was my first time in their shop and they took care of me like I was a regular customer and from now on I probably will be. Receipt in Hand, Warranty Denied. Buyer Beware…read more Very disappointed with DFW Truck & Auto Accessories. We purchased a set of SUSPA C16-02622 shocks from this store in May 2026. I have the original receipt, and the part number on the shocks matches the receipt. The shock failed within the one-year warranty period. My husband took it to the store and was turned away. I then called and spoke with the manager, who said we could have purchased the shock somewhere else. We did not purchase another set anywhere else, we purchased these from them and have the receipt to prove it. The manager said they could not accept the shocks because they don't sell that brand and have nowhere to send them for a warranty claim. However, the receipt clearly lists SUSPA as the manufacturer, and SUSPA is also identified on the stickers on the shocks. The manager also questioned the scratches and wear on the shocks. They are installed on a work truck, so normal wear is expected. The issue is that the shock failed during the warranty period, not that it looks new. Despite having proof of purchase and a matching part number, our warranty claim was refused. My advice to anyone shopping here: keep your receipts, pictures of your parts, and document everything. I would even recommend taking a picture at the time of purchase showing the item being handed to you. That way, you have additional proof if you're later told, "You could have purchased this somewhere else." Based on our experience, I would think twice before purchasing anything here that you may need warranty support for.

They were so fast that when they came in to tell me that they were finished I thought that they were talking to someone else. I'm not even kidding. I have a wallet attached to my keys that is heavy but it is the only thing that keeps me from forgetting my wallet. One of the guys told me that I really shouldn't have them dangling from my keys like that because it is bad for my car and could end up costing me a lot to fix. I really appreciate their honesty because they could have ended up benefiting from my forgetfulness but instead they chose to have integrity. Things like that will keep me coming back to City. It doesn't hurt that their state inspection is only $29.75 and their other prices look reasonable as well.

I have been given the runaround for 3 weeks trying to get a diagnostic on my ford mustang due to a check engine light coming on. This was preventing me from doing a state inspection. I would call in advance and ask when I could come in and was always told someone was available just to show up and be told there were to busy now to have someone see me at all that day. Today, I called in advance AGAIN to have a diagnostic done and while going there my engine started to stall. Once I stalled literally in front of the front doors all of the mechanics left, rudely almost hitting my car doing so and I was told because it was close to closing time no one could make the time to tell me what the issue was so I could inform a tow company or mobile mechanic. It was cold, heartless and extremely unprofessional business. That being said after calling around desperately I was blessed to find a new traveling mechanic serving DFW and surrounding areas named Jay's mobile auto service. He came to me, diagnosed the issue very fast and fixed it within 2 hours. I will now be giving him all of my car business.
