I asked what the difference is and he said only the stamp in the corner. I chose the after market because he said "I'd be very happy with it." Immediately after he replaced my windshield, I got an alert saying that my forward camera needed to be recalibrated. I messaged him asking about it and he said he didn't unplug my camera, etc. and then offered no support. The dealership said it would be $300 to recalibrate which I couldn't afford at the time. Well, I finally brought my car in because I can't get my annual safety & emissions renewal without the recalibration and they said that it's not the camera, it's the windshield itself. It's not compatible with my car's cameras because of some special gel that's required in the glass that acts as a filter. Therefore, I need to replace the ENTIRE windshield again plus the recalibration which will cost $1500!! All because of this business's negligence and misguidance. I reached out and explained everything to them and they didn't even have the decency to respond. Filed a complaint with Yelp but because this business isn't a part of the Yelp Guarantee Program, there's nothing they can do. Plus I paid in cash so my bank can't assist. AVOID THIS SCAM OF A COMPANY!! Edit: of course he responds after receiving a bad review, but only to insinuate it's my fault and calling me a procrastinator? Since I can't respond to a review reply, here's what I messaged him: Oh now you respond because you got a bad review? This has nothing to do with me having to wait because I couldn't afford to get the recalibration done. Mazda quoted my $275 for the recalibration itself but it has nothing to do with the camera. Even if they attempted to recalibrate, the glass is not compatible with these cameras, which you should have known. They said without the required gel and the clarity issues with this after market glass, it wouldn't be possible without a complete replacement with Mazda glass (whether I do it with them or third party). They even showed me on the glass you replaced how the gel was done improperly. So you can take your poor customer service and terrible work ethic and enjoy my rightfully bad review!

I then came across Titan Auto Glass and they were actually able to beat Safelite's pricing; despite being a much smaller operation all while offering the same stipulations and specifications. The tech who came out, Richard, has been doing automotive glass for 20 years, and it comes as no surprise that he aced this job and did so in about 30 minutes flat. Very impressive. I found the staff to be easy to work with, and most communication was done via text message, which I actually find very convenient. Obviously they primarily use aftermarket glass, which in my case was a nonfactor since the factory windshield no longer exists in inventory anywhere. They did say if I ever wanted a factory windshield for one of my other vehicles that I could source it and they would still be able to install it after the fact.
