I prefer this location over the Tumwater one, I feel like it is cheaper in price and the staff are SO NICEEE. the woman who takes your order is always very sweet and is one reason I prefer this location. The food is always freshly made and delicious and on a hot summer day I always crave a good burger from them and a milkshake. If you want a good old fashion burger this is the place to go! A recommendation of mine is the Corndog, they are fried fresh and that's exactly like one you'd get from a fair. I really enjoy this place and recommend it to everyone. read more

We like to support small business's so we passed up Red Robin and made our way back to this small and not very well kept hamburger stand to buy lunch. We will never spend our money at this place again. The service was terrible. The prices were extreamly high for everything. We ordered 2 deluxe cheese burgers, a large fry, a small fry and 1 shake: Our bill was $45.07. The burger patty was SOOOO thin, SOOOO hard with a lot of gristle & it did not even seem to be freshly cooked. The lettuce, tomato & bun on the burger was fresh & as was the frys. But the prices they charge here are for a sit down burger & fry meal at a restaurant. They ask you if you want fry sauce & ketchup & how much you want but what they dont tell you is that they are going to charge you for it. I saw the sign on the window so I asked & thank goodness I did ask. They allow 4 ketchup for the large fry & 3 for the small fry for free then they will charge you for the additional packets & fry sauce - if you want 6 small packets of ketchup per fry. I asked if they charge extra for extra napkins and thankfully they didnt!! Maybe thats a charge they will add next time???? From what I've heard, it seems like a lot of young people (elementary-college aged) see Eagan's as an Olympia staple, but even when it comes to fast food, it doesn't hit the mark for me. We ordered 2 burgers, 2 onion ring orders, and 2 small twist cones. The total with tip was $27 which felt a bit pricey. The line was kind of long but it took about 15 minutes from the time we waited in line and ordered to getting our food which was a lot longer than wxp Eagan's burgers come with pickles and their staple "goop". (I believe goop is mayo with a bit of mustard mixed in.) Pretty bland. Our onion rings were in the fryer for way too long. Both of our orders came out hard, dark brown, and there didn't seem to be any seasoning at all. The ice cream was great but it wasn't any better than other fast food soft serve options. I only got a burger and fries. Both were alright. I'm happy my shake was nice and thick, exactly how I believe a shake should be made and served. Service a little slow l. The food is outstanding. The owners are kind and hardworking. I believe they run it by themselves. It's a very rare thing to have an old time burger drive in stand that keeps their values up, as does this Eagans. I'm extreme thankful that they are there and the owners take so much pride in keeping it as an old time burger stand and not changing things. Children and grandchildren will get to experience what a REAL old time burger stand was like, if you go to this Eagan's. Tom's used to be like that, but they changed with the times. What happened to our beloved West side Eagan's? The menu is similar to what it was but the prices are now sky high! After paying $22 for a drive-in three piece fish and chips, they are stingy with condiments. A simple two patty hamburger meal with fries is more than $18! Eagan's is just a drive in. I can get a better burger - loaded with the works including fries or a salad - at numerous places where u can sit down & be served your food for the same price or less. I would think a sit down restaurant would have a much higher overhead than a small drive through. Eagan's ! Please reduce your prices to a more realistic level. read more

I went last Saturday to the Westside location because Eastside Big Tom was closed due to a staffing shortage. Big mistake! I have been living out of state for over 3 years, so while visiting here, I couldn't wait to go to Big Toms. We had eaten at the easide location the week prior, and it was as excellent as I remembered. I am assuming the westside Big Toms has changed ownership. First, it cost $80 and change for 2 Big Tom Burgers, 2 cheeseburgers, 2 large fries, 2 small fries, plus 8 goops. We had no drinks. The goop was a different color and did not taste like the Eagans goop. The fries were overcooked and not good quality or flavor. The burger was okay, not good. I expected nothing less than excellent that Big Toms has always delivered. The worst part was that within minutes of partially eating my meal, I became violently ill. This only happens to me if I eat food that has MSG or some other additive that my body can't handle. I was sick the remainder of the day. This location should not be allowed to use the Eagan Big Tom name. They are a disgrace! This place deserves zero stars. read more

Today was an occasion for my family and we decided to finally get Eagan's for ourselves, since it is supposed to be an Olympia "must have". I ordered five cheeseburgers, two for children, three for adults. Three tots, two fries. And four drinks. My total was $67!!!! I thought to myself when I heard the total "it's an Olympia must have and it's supposed to be really good, no biggie". And I paid away. I got my order home. And while my deluxe cheeseburger was ok to good... my wife's was a hockey puck. My kids seemed unimpressed, and my Father-in-law is quietly not saying anything about dinner. Love Eagan's, they have the best tater tots in town. I love their grilled chicken burger (way better than their fried chicken burger, because it's juicier and more flavorful), and yes, it's a bit expensive, but they make everything fresh for you right then. Which also means it takes a bit longer than McDonald's. I feel like a lot of the negative reviews are people used to a quick, cheap, full of preservatives and chemicals that trick their taste buds into thinking it tastes good, food. They're used to fillers and garbage and fries that will never rot, so they can't understand that real food tastes different, takes longer, and doesn't have a bunch of trash in it. They don't mass produce a bunch of stuff and let it sit under a warmer either. I've never had any trouble with the service... but I don't expect my burger in less than 60 secs. They're always nice, happy to swap out items on my order and always give me extra sauce. Happy Hour is 2PM-5PM, and there are some really cool deals, IMO. Service is not the fastest here, unless you are getting an ice cream cone, and that is because stuff is cooked to order. I hear a lot of folks whining here about service time - you cannot have it both ways and want your stuff cooked to order, but not be prepared to wait. We love to get an ice cream cone at the "blue drive in" in the summer or after school. If I have the time, and it's happy hour, I will get some tater tots because they are hot and the ketchup is an awesome squeezable kind that I have not seen elsewhere. No crappy baggie. Squeeze what you want on your tot. I have not tried the rest of the menu because I have not. Call it pricing, call it managing time and expectations, but I have simply have not. Good burger! The Big Tom is my favorite. Today I tried it with cheddar and the flavor did not 'pop' like the good old american cheese. I learned that they brew their Iced Tea in house and it is easy to taste the difference, check it out. I lived in the neighborhood near the restaurant for many years. I have had most of the things on their menu including breakfast. What I go for is 1. Big Tom Burger 2. Iced Tea and maybe 3. Fries with the infamous Goop. Everything else is pretty mediocre. This place is not easy on the wallet. I bought a burger and iced tea for lunch and it set me back $12.51! No joke. Its not like its some wagyu beef or anything fancy. My wife and I love the Food Network show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" with Guy Fieri which inspired us to try Egan's out. This place often has a lot of cars parked along it so we figured this might be an Olympian gem. Short answer: We were wrong. Eagan's Drive-Inn looks worn down from the outside and the food matches the exterior. It wasn't horrible or anything but it was basic. So basic that I could have cooked a better burger at home and saved about $4-$6 bucks! Seriously my chili burger cost $10.50! If I were to go anywhere else that burger would have come with a drink and fries at Eagan's it just covers the burger. The bottom line is if you feel like getting ripped off then Eagan's will scratch that itch. The only upside to this experience was that the attendant who helped us was nice something that many other establishments in the area lack. read more

Where do I begin? First of all (as others have mentioned), the pricing. RIDICULOUS! Look at my photo...this is their "crispy chicken burger." Essentially 2 food service chicken strips. Secondly, after spending $70 on several orders we got home and realized that they got our order wrong. Well, this is my first Yelp review, and I waited several years to write one for an outstanding place or an abominable one. This is the latter. I've eaten at a couple of these Eagan's/Big Tom's burger stands before. One in Rochester, and one in Oakville. It seems that some lady named Loretta started it all and it grew to several locations, and she passed away and all of the joints were sold to different owners, or something like that. This one in Olympia is definitely the worst of the 3 I have experienced. I should have heeded the red flag on the tiny drive-thru menu - the insane prices (I had a Big Tom, for, get this, $9.50) and nickel-and-dime add-ons. So, I went ahead and paid and thought it better be extraordinary! What I got was incredibly underwhelming. There is no way the beef patties are hand-formed. The two patties were uniform in thickness and diameter. I would bet they come from Cash and Carry. I've seen those patties before. $10.34 for a previously frozen-pattied burger, with no cheese.`Abysmal! The place looks pretty horrendous from the outside as well. One of the other reviewers stated correctly that he could receive a better burger (and cheaper) at Red Robin. Sad, but true. This burger is more than even Five Guys, who recently have raised their prices, but at least it is fresh, made to order, and you can have as many toppings as you like, plus they won best burger in the country this year, I believe. Please don't waste your hard earned money on this garbage. Go to Bill and Bea's in Centralia, or Five Guys, or hell, even Red Robin. At least there you will get endless steak fries. haha read more
