We've now been here multiple times, solely out of convenience. I generally avoid this location, as the "make it make sense" factor doesn't apply here. Example: Today the B1G1 sign for drinks is huge and in your face as you walk in the door. Since nothing gets left out side at night anywhere in West Olympia, they clearly set this stand alone sign outside intentionally today. I let the cashier know I want to use the B1G1. She confirms that's an option and then asks which 2 drinks I'd like to order. I ask if she can please verify which drinks are included. She didn't have a clue (and had an annoyed and confused look like the last time we came) so she said she'd look on a paper in the back that she remembers seeing... and walks away. She comes back to say her manager said the deal has expired as of yesterday so it's no longer possible. So there is a large sign next to the door advertising the deal AND she already confirmed it was active and possible to use before walking away. I ask her to please make sure the manager understands they're still advertising it up front on a large sign and ask that she honor it. She walks away annoyed as usual (couple visits and it's her vibe with all customers) with an "I don't really know anything and don't like my job" attitude. She returns saying it's still not possible and shrugs her shoulders. I ask to please stop doing the back and forth and please have the manager speak to me directly. She says that's probably not possible, but ok fine she'll try. Manager comes over also annoyed. I note the sign and ask her directly. She says the only thing she can do is move the sign. Which they never actually did while we were there. I mention it'a false advertising and ask if there is any other type of compensation for the false advertising since she refuses to honor her sign -- that for the record has ZERO dates or expirations on it. She says she can comp a cookie. So... my kid enjoyed her cookie. Which on a 90 degree day isn't all that useful compared to the cold drink that was already agreed to by the cashier, was advertised, and should have been. PS The HP location usually has dark dragonfruit flavored liquid in this drink.... what is this nearly completely orange drink? The only actual thing I ordered and it doesn't seem quite right. This location also refuses to make avocado toast outside of morning hours. They claim it's a breakfast only item. Avocado on bread with some sprinkled seasoning. Hawk Prairies's location on the other hand is efficient with great customer service and they're even quick to tell you if there are any deals, or rewards attached to your account. Drive the extra distance and steer clear of this location. HP location serves avocado toast through out the entire day. DO NOT waste your time or money walking into this particular Panera... unless you want orders not made right and customer service with zero consideration for customers with false advertising. read more

I stopped here for lunch with a friend today. We were a little skeptical given the rating on Yelp but the Google rating was higher so we decided to give it a try. When we walked in we immediately smelled what smelled like burnt gristle from a grill. Looking at the cooktop, it seems that's exactly what we were smelling. It desperately needs to be cleaned. We placed our orders at the kiosks and sat to wait. The kitchen staff were right in front of us and were talking loudly, they seemed young and were just chatting but it seemed like they got their jobs done so it didn't bother us. The food came out pretty quick. We got it to go so we didn't eat at a table but there were plenty of tables and they seemed clean. The bathroom was pretty small and the floors were sticky. It seemed clean until you walked around and felt your shoes sticking to the floor. It was also very tight and cramped, with only two stalls in the women's room. The food was good, they got everything right but forgot to include butter with our baguettes. Everything else was prepared properly and tasted good. Overall, we had a positive experience here and I'm glad to contribute to a higher rating for this Panera location. read more

We have visited this Panera several times and today may have been our last time I'm sorry to say. Few restaurants require you to pick up your order, bus your dishes when through eating, and heat your own order ( like soup) if it arrives cold. I was pointed in the general direction of a microwave. After several tries to heat our soup I asked a person cleaning a counter to show me the trick of using their microwave ( I have been using microwaves for 50 years, they're not new). We know how to do all of these things but do expect a little better service when paying. This was definitely a poor $32 experience. read more

My dad and mom were huge fans of Panera. I ate there a few times with them and had pleasant experiences each time. You should understand the type of restaurant they are before going. It is a cafeteria style restaurant; you order from the listed menu on the "back-board" and/or you might find a printed version near the register. They have delicious food that is prepared for you which you fairly quickly and you move along the counter with your choices (drink, soup, sandwich, salad, chips, dessert, whatever you choose); pay at the register and go to a table. Staff will always help you if you ask or if they see or anticipate that there may be a need. They are wonderful about it! When you have gotten settled and commenced with your meal staff will keep an eye open for any needs that you might have including asking if they can refresh your beverage or they will ask if they can take anything away. So, you are attended to and don't feel like you're in a typical cafeteria, but more like a cozy spot with good quality food, many options, and pleasant staff. We tend to forget this one is here and that it has a drive thru. One day out looking for something to eat we decided to stop by and give good 'ol Panera a try. I was never really a fan growing up but goodness, I get into my mid 30s and all the sudden half a sammie and soup or salad sounds like the jackpot. So far I'd say the green goddess caprese melt is my absolute favorite between the 3 toasted baguettes. Pepperoni is a close second. I like meat but let me tell you, to literally pick the caprese melt over the pepperoni or even the chicken one really says something. Service has been good any time we've gone. This has nothing to do with the location itself but the app is annoying to use. I received a GC and basically uploading it into the app if you plan to go in is pointless. I mean great for having it on there but they have no way of scanning to use it, they need the numbers. I'd rather just have the card to swipe and move on. Our cashier today was very thorough and took the time to explain the options for our meals (get a little smaller meal but save money on a duo, for example). They also made sure when we ordered the last kitchen sink cookie (our FAV!!) to wrap it up right away so we had the goods secured. I am beyond disappointed with this Panera. I ordered this morning because I have a dentists appointment, which causes me great anxiety, and we thought it would be a nice treat to start the day. I had a reward from my last order, because this store missed an item. This morning, my order was supposed to arrive at 6:20. Not only was it half an hour late, causing me to only have enough time to grab the bag and go, rather than enjoying before my appointment, it is yet again missing an item. The chocolate croissant, which was the item I was most looking forward to, is not in my bag. This is the second straight time this store has missed an item--and they have done it several times before that, in fact. One of the managers, Shelly is excellent! Very good customer service, she's always very accommodating and more than willing to fix anything that comes up. I am pretty frustrated with the local management and food quality at this Panera location. I can't eat fresh cilantro and asked the it never be put on the Baja Mac and cheese ( I have my food ordered and delivered due to my busy work schedule). They have gotten the order wrong no matter how many times I ask them to fix it, when it is clearly put on the order, sometimes twice, ask the home office to adjust for the complaint. It got so bad that I finally just started ordering something else, feeling like I was fighting a losing battle. ( I am a really good tipper , always tip generously. The store is right around the corner of my office, walking distance actually and many of my coworkers and myself order multiple times per month.) Imagine my unpleasant surprise when I ordered the Autumn Squash soup and at the bottom of the cup, you guessed it ...cilantro. ( there is no cilantro in that dish). Yes , I tasted it ( I have the genetic code that makes it taste like dishsoap...check it out) Yes I wrote the home office and they have given me new coupons, but I am really concerned about using them.
