Reading the other recent reviews, I am inclined to agree: this is the best Panera location I've been to yet! What stuck out to me the most was when, upon my ordering my mac and cheese in a bread bowl, the cashier double checked to make sure they were in stock. After bad experiences at other locations, I was really moved by this simple action. The wait for our food was relatively short, and every order came to the table exactly as we'd placed it. My mac and cheese was piping hot and well-flavored, the sauce just permeating into the bread bowl to soften its interior. It was quite delicious, though I've yet to discover how one ought to eat a bread bowl once the mac and cheese is gone. Are you really meant to pick it up and tear it apart as if you are a lion? Cause that is what I did. read more

The staff are nice at this location, but I cannot go to Panera Bread overall anymore. The prices are outrageous for the ever-diminishing portions that are now the size of my tiny hands where the food portions just a year ago were well-sized and tasty. read more

Will not be going back. Service just to order was very slow while management laughed and played around. People who were known in the prep area quickly received their orders while others who had ordered before them were waiting for their orders just to be started. I love the cinnamon crunch bagels with hazelnut crème cheese, but I'm really sad that they got rid of the black cherry smoothie. Totally pissed. I thought Panera Break was going to be my thing, but now I don't frequent the P. Bread that often anymore solely due to that smoothie. It was to me, the best smoothie that Panera had. My stomach gurgles in hatred as I painfully write this review. I don't hate you though Panera, my stomach does....but not me. I'm just saying that I don't want ginseng in my smoothie or just hardcore orange/citrus or "green". I also love the tomato and mozzarella panini. Mmmm....panini. *drools* Otherwise the service is really friendly, they have Panera rewards where you get free stuff and always can add a pastry for 99 cents. The drive thru is a plus too but getting out the drive thru is tight. So take your time. So, the bread and pastries are awesome and the paninis are bangin' too. The lemonade is really good too. I ordered 2 chicken frontega today and I wish I didn't. Both the chicken panini looks so dry and barely any meat or cheese or sauce on the sandwich. I asked for one of the panini to be without onions or tomatoes and guess what....they still managed to put tomatoes and onion on there. It wasn't even that busy and I just don't understand the poor attention to details. Also, when the food was done, they don't even called your order number or your name and just let it sits there. Last time I am going to that location. Just an advice: pls don't be greedy with the chicken, cheese and sauce. Pay attention to what you're doing. read more

Listen, I don't like to complain usually, but this place is trash. The service is awful (staff is usually standing near the handoff plane on their phones), the food is subpar (ordered a salad and only about half the ingredients were there), and when you call to bring it to their attention, they argue with you and tell you "a manager made this salad and I can guarantee it's made correctly." Ma'am, since when does a salad, from a place that specializes in salads, come with just lettuce and chicken?? I have yet to stop by this particular location and leave with the right order. One time, I waited in the drive through line for 27 minutes. It was ridiculous. I was late coming back from lunch and then on top of that, by the time I got back to the office to look at my order, they got it wrong! The good thing is that if you call them, they will either refund or send you a gift certificate to use in the store, but it doesn't help when you're hungry in the moment. I also didn't like the customer service when I had to wait in line so long. I asked if they could allow the customer that was holding up the line to park elsewhere and instead of getting a real answer back, I got an eye roll, and a "we appreciate your patience." It's 2:30 on a Thursday yet we stood in line for 17 minutes while 7 employees walked by doing other tasks. Not one employee acknowledged our presence nor mentioned that they would be with us soon. When we finally got to a register I kindly asked our cashier (Dylan) why the huge wait while there were 7 employees on the floor doing what appeared to be tasks that could wait. Dylan's response provided little compensation "We've got a lot going on" he said. Yes Dylan so do I and there are at least a dozen other eating establishments within one mile and I guarantee they put customer service above their tasks. I go to the drive thru 2-3 times a week for the past couple months and they fucked up my order every time. It's honestly a joke at this point. I call to ask for a manager and wait on line for about 10 mins to have nobody come on the line. You can say your kid is deathly allergic to tomatoes and they will still put tomatoes on your order. We waited several lifetimes in the drive thru line at 8 pm on a Wednesday. Guy at window apologized, said there had been an order mix up ahead of us. Apparently it was an off night: we had ordered one sandwich, one half sandwich and a Mac & cheese. What we got was the one sandwich as ordered (and tasty), the wrong half sandwich, and a Mac/cheese container that was weirdly empty--maybe a couple of bites' worth in the bottom of it. I've now stopped in at this Panera several times and I've been very pleased with how my order is always ready on time and the friendliness of the employees. I pick up catering orders from here every couple weeks and it's nice that they are always ready when I arrive and they even offer to help you out to your car. The atmosphere is consistent to this chain with plenty of seating, warm interior color palate, and a long counter with rows of delicious looking pastries behind it. You order your food here and then come back to one side of the counter to pick it up. I haven't ordered a meal here yet but anytime I've ordered a bagel or pastry catering order everything has been nicely packaged for me upon arrival. The lattes I get have been made well, and I really enjoy their gluten conscious cookie. It's is particularly decadent for gf. Overall, great representation of this chain with nice friendly service, predictability in catering order accuracy and readiness, and fresh quality products. read more

This location CONSTANTLY messes up drive through or pick up and delivery orders. My order is messed up or not complete damn near every time. No dressing with my salad as well as brown on the hard boiled egg, hard as rock bread and soup that's from the bottom of the pot that looks like slightly burnt. Not to mention messy containers. I love Panera's food but the service at this location is not great. Very disappointing. How do you forget to include dressing with a salad order. Highly irritating. I was at the Olympia Panera yesterday. I will make this concise. They were out 2 of the 4 coffees, there was no cream. I told cashier and they did fix the problem. If I have to order at counter and pay full price and wait on myself I don't want to tell staff three times things are empty. My friend ordered a salad and received no side. Staff said they were slammed and people had called in sick. My food was adequate. What is irritating is there is no description of salads so you have to ask cashier, which adds to customers wait. Why not a small description of ingredients. It is overwhelming to stand at counter and make a decision with no descriptions. Lastly the table my friend selected had a large round pipe that stuck out into the table. I banged my head on it twice. Why is there a table there? Don't plan on going back. I order a Baja grain bowl, drive 15 minutes home, stick a fork in it, just to find out they loaded it with chicken. Now, I'm sure most people are like "free chicken," but no, I don't eat meat, so I'm clearly wicked irritated. I call, and the lady asks me to "stop back in" (as if I'm right outside the door) so that they can replace it for me, which I do, and I'm also provided with a free pastry, which I didn't want or need, but it somehow made me feel better about my 30 minute round trip drive to replace my bowl. I get home with the second bowl, and...a giant hunk of chicken in the bottom of my new bowl, which, by the way, was also made with frozen rice. We used to eat at Panera in Asheville NC about 5 years ago and it was high quality with good service. But last Sunday was the first time we'd ever eaten at Panera in Olympia. Not sure if the service at all franchises went down the tube since COVID, or perhaps it was just this location. However, we found service to be substandard...nothing was available to public...salt/pepper, utensils, butter. I had to continuously go up and ask for items. Tables were dirty and in the hour that our family sat there, I never once witnessed tables being wiped down. Lastly, and most importantly, we bought 6 bagels to bring home. These were rock hard when we opened them. Very disappointing. Panera has great potential... but serious attention and TLC needs to be brought to the table if they want my family to return. read more

Unbelievable. Over priced. Jesus. After 20 minutes of waiting in the drive through for food I simply asked for a regular tea and sandwich. They of course charged me for a large. I mean. I have always liked Panera because they have great ingredients and affordable meals. I usually frequent the Panera in Lacey as well as ordered lunch to be delivered by the Olympia store. But when I recently visited the location in Olympia and I was appalled at the horrible service. Not only was the cashier rude and impatient with us but the wait time for our meals was over 30 minutes. When I asked about the wait I was told that they were backed up and short staffed. This of course is understandable, however the customer service was very pool. When we received our meals there were several errors in what we received and had to go back to the cashier. The line was out the door. When I tried to ask for someone to assist me I was met with another clueless person who also was rude. Stupidly I gave them a second chance and went thru the drive thru for a simple order of coffee and pastry. This time I was also met with an impatient cashier who passed me off to some clueless worker who happened to be walking by the window. He was overwhelmed and when I noted there was an error on the bill he as well as the former cashier did nothing to offer a correction. I am very saddened by this service and feel angry because when I want to have a delicious Panera salad or perhaps a mango smoothie I have to avoid this location. I refuse to be put in this situation again and warn everyone from this horrible customer service...if you have loads of time to wait or don't mind being treated badly then keep going otherwise...Lacey location I have always received wonderful quick service. read more

They changed their menu last month and the classic sourdough loaf I normally get for toast or homemade sandwiches was discontinued. The said they had sourdough rounds that could be sliced, I said OK I will try that next time. Went thru drive thru for my coffee and ordered the 2 pack of sourdough rounds, person on speaker asked, "the ones we use for bread bowls" I said yes but to leave them whole and not cut out. When I got home I opened the bag and they gave me cut hollowed out rounds that clearly was not what I asked for OR could be used. I went back and asked for intact bread rounds, was told "they come in whole but we carve them out in the morning for soups and that they didnt have any un-hollowed out rounds. Then was basically told there was nothing they could do. I asked for a manager to see if something could be done or at least give them back and get a refund,.. then was told Manager was off the floor at the time, so "sorry cant do anything" I WAS PISSED! read more

My boss orders lunch for us all the time and I have always enjoyed it (Maybe he orders from Hawks Prairie I stead?) I always order the chicken salad sandwich in my boxed lunch when we have meetings and they are always so packed with the chicken salad that it often spills out into my lunchbox. This is not a bad problem to have! Today however, I went to Panera to have lunch with my husband and again, ordered the half chicken salad 1/2 with a cup of brocolli Cheddar soup, a cookie and a drink. My husband also had half a sandwich, cup of soup, cookie and a drink as part of their pick two "deal." Wow, we're we shocked when we saw the $27 price tag for 2 lunches! This better be a lot of food! It wasn't at all a lot of food.... I can get a sandwich, a drink and cookie at either Meconi's or Wallys for less than $10 and still have half a sandwich to bring home for later.... Panera left me still hungry. The amount of chicken salad on my sandwich was so miniscule that it took me 4 bites before I got anything other than lettuce and bread! So disappointed because this was always my favorite! From now on I will stick with my boss paid lunches from Panera, but I will not spend any more of my money there. Except maybe for a snickerdoodle. We were in the area and we were looking for bagels.We stopped here after being sent to an Einstein Bagels that was in a college and closed on weekends during the summer. It was close to 11am and the place was empty. The staff was courteous and took our order. We ordered three bagels toasted with cream cheese on the side. It was very slow service considering it was just toasting some bagels plus they had no other orders (empty place). Then, we placed another order for a muffin and a pastry but that was packaged quickly. The bagels and pastries were excellent but they lack the prompt service.
