Sidewalk's BEC/EC bagel sandwiches are like back home!! The best I've had in the PNW. We've been coming for years and plan to continue - when we have visitors from out of town we bring them here. Not just for the breakfast sandwiches but the rest of the menu is outstanding. I don't want to leave a bad review because this place is great and I'm hoping it can be fixed but I can't find contact info other than a phone # (I called and conveyed this too) and did want to reach out and let the owners know: over the past few weeks we've ordered BEC/EC bagels on two separate occasions and there has been a noticeable decrease in the bagel quality. Idk if there is a change in recipe or supplier or process, but the whole family agrees there is something off. The bagels are too soft and fall apart and the flavor is weird - almost like a weird bun instead of a bagel... we hope that can get fixed!! I'm happy to delete this once the owners see it! We really love coming here and want Sidewalk to do well!

Service was friendly from start to finish--menus were brought promptly, and we were asked about drinks right away (water was perfect for us). Throughout the meal, the staff was attentive without being intrusive, refilling our water and clearing dishes at just the right times. We started with the agedashi tofu to share. The broth was flavorful and the tofu was prepared well, with that soft, gooey, gelatinous consistency. They have a good assortment of sauces, condiments, rice, noodles, soups, seasonings and a solid, but basic, vegetable selection. The freezer cases filled with all sorts of goodies from frozen meats to sweets. Prices seemed pretty reasonable. The service is friendly. The checkout area can get a little crowded with peeps coming in and out the door. PS - The last time I was in, the restaurant next door was open and whatever they were cooking smelled delicious. Note to self: come back to the restaurant and try some pho.
