Our family of 6 went for Mother's Day Brunch. We were seated immediately and given drink menus. After ordering drinks, we went to the buffet. To begin with, the buffet was single sided which created a long line to get food. When we got to the buffet, they were out of plates and every pan was empty. Other tables around us were waiting for plates and food also. When the food finally came, it was underwhelming. Avocado toast wasn't toasted, just sliced avocado on bread. The chicken for chicken and waffles was dry and the waffles were empty every time we went to check for more. The eggs Benedict was bland and not warm. If you are going to do brunch, please plan ahead with enough servers and have a plan to keep food out. Having to continually wait for food and then to find it flavorless was disappointing. Our server didn't take our plates and it's a good thing because they were always out of plates. I guess we had hoped for a better experience. I'd recommend passing on brunch here. Maybe their other menu items are good but based on the limited options we tried, I doubt it. Save you money and even more so, your time. Go elsewhere. We went on a Monday night for a birthday, it wasn't packed but a decent crowd. Our server seemed disinterested in us and any requests made by my party. The drinks were delicious though! We got the Brussels sprouts and salmon dip for starters and those Brussels are one of the best things I've ever had. The salmon dip was good as well but the star was the Brussels. Overall, I thought we had a pleasant experience. We came for lunch on the weekend after visiting the Children's Museum. The atmosphere was chill. There was plenty of seating with open tables. Thankfully, we had the foresight to order the kids food first because they were hungry and food was coming out of the kitchen slower than what I expected. The ordering of drinks was a little clunky when we had one person sit down after us at our own table was offered drinks before the people who already sitting. Let's talk about the real star of the afternoon. The food was delicious. I had one of the best chicken sandwiches I have had in a long while. The side of fries was crispy and delicious. Our entire party enjoyed their food and overall, I'm happy we came here and I hope to come back soon. My daughter and I showed up on a Monday evening around 6pm to a very busy restaurant. We did not have reservations but still were seated quickly to an enormous wooden booth, best seat in the place in my opinion, I almost felt like royalty. The vibes were good, the service was great, everyone kind and attentive without being pushy and in our face. My daughter ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and a Mistletoe Margarita. I got the Prime Rib and a Rosemary Gin Spritz. We both agreed the food looked amazing, but was just ok in flavor. My prime rib was a little over medium rare, but perfect prime rib is very hard to find in Washington it seems. Our tab came to $91.97 which is average for what we ordered. Update. Happy hour was great when we had it. We put off trying breakfast for a long time, thankfully. Today was the day. Great service. Clean setting. Probably the worst breakfast I've had in a long time. We are a family of four and I tried everyone's food. Very on par with IHOP. We very well could have been served someone's leftovers from IHOP from 3 days ago. Only I don't go to IHOP and if I was starving and glued to a chair there I wouldn't order a moco loco or a steak. Nothing was good. My kids waffles tasted like IHOP leftovers, I'm guessing, but wouldn't know because I don't eat there. Not sure why anyone would go to breakfast here. Walked in at 8pm on a Sunday. It looked pretty slow, so I asked if the kitchen was still open, they said yes. Bartender said I could sit anywhere I'd like. Most of the booths along the perimeter wall were dirty and hadn't been bussed, so I must've just missed the football crowd. Found a table, and a large party of 8 came in, right after me. After taking my drink order, the server says I have 10 minutes to order because they're closing the kitchen. They close at 10pm. The server comes back with my drink, an opened bottle of ginger beer and says sorry I had to use half of your ginger beer to make another drink, I won't charge you for this one... it was flat anyway. I ordered a half a salad, no complaints. Ordered Fish & Chips, asked for it to be a little crispy; fish comes out like jerky. I get the check, and what a surprise, the ginger beer was on the bill. The food was worth the wait! We visited the first time this weekend to have lunch. Parking was available on the street right in front. We got lucky. It was super busy. The restaurant itself is very big with plenty of seating so it didn't feel overly crowded. The staff seated us very quickly and took our drink order immediately. We ended up getting two cocktails to try both of which were very very good we decided since it was our first visit we would start with just appetizers. So we tried the shrimp tacos, rosemary garlic fries and roasted garlic shrimp toast. Holy moly. The sweet sauce on the tacos was incredible with a little bit of pineapple, just enhanced the whole thing and the garlic butter dipping sauce for the shrimp toast was fabulous. The size of the shrimp and the freshness of the seafood was awesome. Now a moment for the rosemary garlic fries. Rosemary. Garlic. Fries. I would eat these all day. I'll never go back and not get these. We did ask for a side of ranch, which was also delicious. We also had the opportunity to spy the people's food next to us and I'm pretty sure they got the lobster roll or the crab roll which I'm definitely going to try next because it looked amazing. So as I said, it was very, very busy so it took a bit for our food to come out probably about 40 minutes. It wasn't an issue for us, but the staff definitely noticed and the manager came over. I'm assuming it was the manager. He was very pleasant and gave us two card coupons for a discount for our next visit, which I thought was very observant And very kind. This was my first time at Cove, I was joined by a friend. I ordered the fish and chips. Big mistake, despite the fact of us living right here on The Sound. The fish was dry, overcooked and meager- I'll bet each piece weighed less than an ounce. The coleslaw arrived in a condiment cup. That's right- a little condiment cup. That is how much they give you. The two bites I had were pretty good... I had come in just as their happy hour was concluding, so I was able to take advantage of a discount cocktail. Went on a Saturday night, a group of 7 of us. Was greeted by a hostess who rudely asked if we had reservations. When we told her No, she said "hold on!" The seating was a little high off the ground, so our feet dangled, which after an hour, became uncomfortable. It was a little harder for my father in law, who has mobility difficulties to climb in and out of the booth. The selection on the menu is wonderful. Lots of seafood options, but also sandwiches and pub grub. Lots of things looked interesting. The drink options were diverse, and had a large selection of beers. We ordered our food... and waited for quite awhile. I don't know how long exactly it took to get food from ordering, but it was at least 40 min. When the food arrived, they said we didn't get a full order of fries on the entrees that came with fries, and they would bring more out. (Those fries never came). With that said... our food was great. I had the Poke Nachos. Fresh, tasty, lots of tuna, and the chips were delicious. The rest of my group were satisfied and liked their meal. Lots of compliments, no complaints. I am willing to say that our welcoming hostess and slow cook times were a fluke for them. She suggested a few of her favorite dishes. Bowl of King Chowder: geoduck, quahog clam, leeks, potatoes, & bacon (4/5). Loaded with so many clams! Thick, flavorful, and creamy. I'd get this again! Cup of Tomato Bisque (2.5/5). Sorry, this wasn't rich like I thought. No offense, I thought this tasted like thick bland spaghetti sauce. Brussel Sprouts: kimchi spice w/hot honey (5/5). Charred sprouts and the hot honey is soooo good! I couldn't stop eating this! Half Steamers: Manila clams, chorizo, in garlic, white wine, butter sauce (4/5). This was a small dish but very flavorful and delicious. Scampi Toast: prawns, garlic, tomato, white wine, parsley, red chili flakes, parm, served on sourdough (4/5). 1 Fish & Chips: house breaded cod served with fries and tarter (4/5). I've been wanting to try this place for a while but parking is difficult and it's super busy during the weekends. I finally got in on time today and found it pleasantly empty when I arrived. I was seated promptly, the waitress waited an appropriate time to let me view the menu, and they brought me an ice water as soon as I sat down. I had the apple Gorgonzola salad to start. The lettuce mixture is appropriate for the style of dish and everything was finely diced. I felt that there was a slight imbalance though. Maybe not enough apples or walnuts? I also had the steak and eggs and a side of the triple berry compote waffle. The steak was delicious, cooked perfectly with decent seasoning. The cook knows what over medium eggs are, which is rare. The arugula under the steak is a perfect match as the peppery taste works well. The triple berry compote is good but a bit too sweet and sour at the same time. The cream appears homemade and is delightful. The waffle didn't seem to have any specific taste to it. As for the dining area? It's a big open warehouse space with concrete floors and tables and chairs set up. There's no privacy and the music is very... modern. It kind of felt like I was sitting in TikTok and listening to the music people put in their videos. Not horrible. Garage doors decorate the front of the house but were not open, which I'm thankful because of flies. Overall, I would definitely come back. Visited with my friend in the afternoon, way past the lunch rush and because of that, the happy hour meal as up. Thanks to that, we both got a smash burger with rosemary fries for $10. I think they had bacon jam or something but I added a little bbq sauce and that missing with the jam, the mayo, and the caramelized onions made that the best burger I've had in the three years I've lived in Olympia. Walked in on Christmas Eve morning to a pretty busy place. Not packed, but definitely more people than we had imagined. We were seated quickly. The Seahawks were playing, as well as several other games. It was pretty loud. The space is not decorated like a sports bar, nor is there really a sports bar vibe, but it was definitely feeling like one at the time. The Veuve themed Christmas tree was pretty though! It seemed like most of the staff were dressed in workout clothes, like yoga pants and halter tops...but for the most part they were nice, but seem relatively new to the business, or inexperienced. Sundays happen to be all day happy hour. They have a decent HH menu. I tried the vanilla pear drink, and it wasn't bad. The crispy refreshing taste from the pear puree was lovely without being overly sweet. My only complaint about the drink is all the ice. I opted for the Pesto Chicken sandwich off the HH menu (just the sandwich, $9) and a bowl of the clam chowder ($7). I did not care for the chicken sandwich because for the price, even on HH, it was pretty small and the pesto did not have a good flavor. It leaned more toward the acidic side as far as taste, with no depth or complexity. The chowder though, that was some good stuff. My friend opted for the cup of chowder and the one piece fish and chips. The fries are the battered kind, which isn't my, or my friend's favorite. The tartar sauce wasn't bad. They had mentioned that there was an "issue" with the fish and had to redo it, so it came out a little later than my food with a small amount of fries with the girl saying that she would bring out more because thats all they had when they plated the food. I would return to try other menu items. Wondering how much of the food is prepared from scratch though--because I have a feeling that not much of it is...would definitely make it better if it is something they would consider incorporating more of in the future. read more

I would not necessarily call it a sports bar in a good way. It has the tvs and beers/full bar and great place to watch sports, but the menu is pretty extensive and the food is exceptional, especially compared to if you compare to a "sports bar". All dishes were fresh and flavorful with good quantity and great quality with reasonable prices! The appetizers weee good including one of the best Clam Chowders we have had in a long time... home made from scratch! The smoked salmon dip with homemade bread was excellent too! The stir fry and steak entrees were amazing too. The beef is a step up and great cut and fresh green beans were awesome! One of our favorite bands was playing at the Cove so we decided to make the trek from over 30 miles away. Needless to say, when it was all said and done, we should have stayed home. We made reservations and arrived right on time. Our table was ready and we got seated within 5 minutes. We waited 20 minutes after being seated before our server even acknowledged us. We finally got our waters and immediately placed our order. It was another 30 minutes before our food arrived. During the time we were waiting on our food, our server never came back to see if we wanted to place another drink order. Food arrived. Smash burger was very good. No complaints and worth the $18.00. 2 people ordered the apple gorgonzola salad. Salads looked tempting, but unfortunately, they forgot the apples. Band started right on time. OMG...the acoustics were nothing short of HORRIBLE. Please, if you are going to host live music, then please take the time and effort to ensure your PA system is set up properly for the room to enjoy the music. No exaggeration, a ten dollar karaoke system from Best Buy would have sounded better. I have been to several venues in my time for live music and this by far was the worst I have ever experienced. Given that we had driven so far, we stuck it out for another 2 hours and during that time, the service did not get any better. Always had to wave down our server to place a drink order. There was even one instance after the drink order was placed, the drink never came but it did show up on the bill. We waved down the server to get our checks and discovered the mistakes getting charged for the items we never received. Server never came back to collect our credit cards, so we went to the bar to get the items removed from our bill that we should not have been charged for and paid. I honestly would have given them a one star rating, but the ambiance was nice and the seating was comfortable. However, given all the issues with the service and pathetic acoustics, there is a very high probability we won't be coming back. read more

Cod was a bit tough and maybe over cooked on the fish and chips. The fries were delicious because of the seasoning and were cooked well. Brussels sprouts with kim chee and honey were cooked well. Tried some local beer by Matchless from Tumwater. Plenty of screens to watch the game. It was busy, clearly a popular spot, and good volume (not too loud or quiet).
