This restaurant is an absolute hidden gem. It feels like a little secret only a few know about, which is odd because it is one of the better restaurants in town. They have a great breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. There has not been one item I have ordered here that wasn't delicious. Their servers are attentive, friendly, and professional. The restaurant is clean and there is easy parking. The food is delicious and presented well and the portion sizes match the prices on the menu, which are reasonable considering the price of everything has gone up. If it is nice you can sit outside, otherwise they have cozy seating for a few in a booth or big tables for large parties. Overall, this is a solid restaurant that just doesn't get the love and attention it deserves. PS - they have a lot of party/banquet/meeting space and you only have to purchase a certain amount of food to get the space for free. Great option for events. read more

This second time trying this business, the first time I was invited to join a group of regulars that have been coming for years for a Seahawks game when I first moved here. I understand that brings a pretty regular crowd so I wasn't critical. I enjoyed the crab cakes so much that I've thought of them since but I've not gotten back sooner as I have so much to explore in my new city! Finally a year later I came in for lunch. It's obviously a place for locals and regulars without the need to advertise. The crab cakes are just as good as I remember (a little smaller tho). The service is geared to the regulars... I didn't take it personally but to be honest, I live 1 mile away and could make this a regular stop. My server was attentive enough but with me being a server.... You should always treat your guest like they're your next regular. There's too many places to spend your money these days so treating everyone with the same value is important. Had lunch here the other day, spicy fried pickles for an appetizer they were really good and a large serving as well. My friend got a Ruben and fries she loved this. I got a nice salad. this place is MAGIC. every time i go, the staff treats me like family...and this started on visit two. their brunch is to DIE for. everything i've had is delish! i always go for the marinated steak and eggs. it comes with home fries and toast (choose the biscuit...you won't regret it), and the flavor is next level. the vibe is low-key classy...and being on a golf course has always made me wonder if i'd fit in. there are definitely golfers and people ready for tee time, but there are also hometown folx who are welcoming and friendly. i am always met with "of course" and "not a problem" when i ask for adjustments or additional things, and i've never seen anyone have anything less than a beautiful experience here. i LOVE this place, and have come for dates, bestie brunches, and mother/daughter breakfasts!! it's hard to find a place to meet all of those needs -- but river's edge comes through...every time!! read more

Have been here several time in the past year. However today we had breakfast with some family and had bloody Mary's and screwdrivers as well. My cousin ordered a double tall screwdriver and commented to us that it was a bit weak for a double. No big deal. My wife who has worked in the service industry for many years mentioned it to our server and her reply was " well I could put less in your next one how about that" We were all completely floored by her response and asked for boxes and left. Have to say this was my first bad experience here. Only been a few time but it was always fine. Finished up a golfing today and sat in the bar for a couple of friends to grab a drink. Never was approached by wait staff. I get it that they may have been short staffed due to the golf tournament but at least acknowledge the table instead of walking by several times. I simple "I'll be right with soon" would have been fine with me. We just got up and left. I recommend staffing up on days there are tournaments or at lest brief staff on acknowledging people who are waiting. I'll chock this hip to a bad day, we'll see. This place us located at Tumwater Valley Golf Course and just opened back in May. They label themselves as a sports bar. They have six viewable flat screens TVs on the golf course side of the bar and three on the other side. They have a decent dining area too. They have three couches around a fireplace that has a flat screen on either side of the fireplace. Good if you want to be comfortable. There are no typical bar things like pool tables or dartboards. More of an upscale sports bar. They do have NFL Sunday Ticket on DirecTV, only problem is that they can't provide the sound of the games currently. (They're working on it) I would say prices are comparable to other restaurants. I was in recently and had their traditional hot wings and they were really spicy and were on a bed of lettuce with some celery and bleu cheese dressing. I had the edge burger with pepperjack cheese and bacon. It comes with regular fries or you can get sweet potato fries. The regular fries are good and crispy but not crunchy. I also had a pitcher of mac and jacks African Amber. They have more burgers on the lunch menu, which you can get for dinner if you ask. The staff has always been really friendly the few times I have been in there. They're always willing to accomodate. My dad has siliace disease so no wheat for him. They put his taco salad on a plate instead of the tortilla bowl. They also let my parents sample a sauce. I also had their BBQ ribs another time I was there and they're fantastic. Comes with slaw and sweet potato fries and they're special dipping sauce. You'll be full by the time you're done. They're only available fir dinner though. They have about 15 total flatscreen tvs all broadcasting in HD. Good place to go when it's nice out and a view of the golf course. UPDATE 3/12/10: I have been back many times since. They have prizes during the NFL season on Sundays. Great owners. They'll also have prizes and drawings for Sounders games (if they play). If I want to go somewhere to watch a game on TV and listen to it, I know I can go to Rivers Edge and have a good time. Their burgers are great and can substitute veggie patties for all their burgers. All their meat comes from Western Meat. Their Cobb Salad is great as is their fish and chips, beer battered with Mac and Jack's and great with a pint of Mac and Jack's. If there on a weekend they have a great waitress, look for the short redhead. Great place considering they haven't been open a year. Management is also accommodating if there is a game one that you want to watch. Just ask your server, bartender or the manager. read more

The main reason why I'm giving River's Edge four stars is due to their comedy nights called "Comedy at The Edge", which are held every Friday at 9 pm. The night I attended featured Dwight Slade and Riggs and my friends and I couldn't stop laughing throughout the entire show. If I was in town more often, I definitely would check out "Comedy at The Edge" on a regular basis. As for their food, it's pretty much standard "American grill" food featuring cobb salads, sweet wrinkled potato fries (my fav here) and nachos. They're good yet they're nothing to blow you away. However' they are generous with their portions. If you're looking for something to do on a Friday night, give this place a shot. read more

My family and I have been visiting for years and each time is a welcome environment served fast and with a smile. Feels like home. I take my staff here for work events (award ceremonies and such) and every time has been perfect. When I see bad reviews I'm A) confused B) think these people might be crazy, and C) kinda grateful because I'd love to keep this place all to myself! Love this place. We have been coming here for several years with a group of usually about 6 people at least once a month. The staff are all amazing and know us when we walk in. Everything I have had so far for food is really good. The hog wild sandwich is so good. I always have to get the Cajun tots too. They come with like a Cajun ranch dipping sauce. Amazing! The Pulled pork quesadilla is also really good. In the summer time they have a nice outdoor seating area. Some uncovered some not. You can watch people on the practice green and enjoy your meal. We normally sit in the restaurant area but occasionally will sit in the bar. They have several TVs with different sports on each one. Highly recommend coming to this place. read more

We golfed at Tumwater Valley GC today. This food establishment serves the golfers on the course. Awful service. We saw the beverage cart at 11am on the 3rd hole and never saw her again until the 17th hole. I even called twice to no avail. When she did arrive at 2:30 we got hot dogs. They were colder than the beer! If you golf here I suggest you bring your own food and beverage. If mgmt let's this happen they need new mgmt that can train people properly! I've had occasion to visit River's Edge twice in the last couple of weeks and have come away greatly satisfied both times! Both times that I visited I sat at the bar to eat and visit with the bartender and enjoy a Stella Draft. The first time I was in I had the beef tacos, which are rightly called steak tacos. Juicy tenders bits of beefly heavenlyness, with a nice pico de gallo in a warm soft taco with a very tasty cilantro (I assume) sauce. Two of these gems with some sweet potato fries set me for the rest of the day, with the Stella it was a very nice repast. Today I returned for a second visit and had the Chef's Daily Sandwich special which came with a cup of soup. The sandwich was a grilled turkey bacon and cheese sandwich on sourdough which was crunchy and rich with thick slices bacon and enough turkey to stand up against the other ingredients. The soup was a tasty Thai peanut chicken with enough curry to bring the heat, quite a bit of chicken and peanuts covering a portion of the cup adding flavor and crunch. A great rich, tasty, warm, comfort food lunch for a damp spring day. read more
