Butter chicken kolache with a blueberry coconut latte
Lindsey A.

Amazing kolaches and a killer seasonal menu. Busy for Mother's Day but the line moved fast and everyone was super kind and polite.

My cousin and I decided to give Eadough a try when she was in town visiting. We had heard to show up early (before 8 am) to have the best selection of pastries on a Saturday morning. We arrived at 8 am and the timing was perfect as most of the crowd arrived shortly after. They had so many pastries to choose from, but I opted for a spinach paneer kolache, a butter chicken kolache, and a strawberry matcha croissant. The kolaches were incredible! The croissant was also tasty but it was a little too sweet for my taste. It had a sugar coating, a matcha filling, and a strawberry whipped topping. I'd definitely recommend arriving around 8 am on the weekends before the selection gets sparse and to beat the summer heat. Their seating is all outdoors, so eating in the cooler hours is the way to go! However, we there too early for their lunch options - so I'd like to come back some time to try them!

I loveee the pastry items here. Haven't had a miss. I randomly will crave their chocolate croissants and make the small drive over to EaDough in Eado. Their coffee drinks is nothing to rave about but I'll always get an iced latte. Nothing really stands out, and I feel like their seasonal drinks are on the higher priced side. Customer service at the window is a bit lacking. Those lunch pita sandwiches are a fan favorite. It's a walk up window with limited seating, I'm usually just picking up on a weekday. Few parking spaces. POC, woman owned.

Stumbled upon EaDough, this little window bakery in East Downtown, the other day and I'm so glad I did. It was one of those random finds that ended up being a great surprise. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, an almond loaf, and a chocolate chip cookie. The breakfast sandwich was filling and a great way to start the meal. But the almond loaf absolutely stole the show -- I've been thinking about it every day since I had it. It was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and easily the standout item. I was so full that I had to save the chocolate chip cookie for the next day, but even then it was incredible. Honestly, it's probably one of the top five chocolate chip cookies I've had in Houston. I also really liked the concept of ordering from the window. It made for a relaxed experience, and it was a perfect day to sit outside and enjoy the food. I was thoroughly impressed and will definitely be back.

Eadough is a small walk up counter with a nice selection of pastries and coffee. There are a few parking spots along the side of the building but otherwise it's gonna be street parking. I decided to try their iced latte with lavender rose syrup and their almond croissant loaf. I could taste the essence of lavender/rose in the latte but not much sweetness. But the latte was still smooth and not bitter so I didn't mind too much. The loaf was LARGE and very tasty. The almonds and powdered sugar balanced out the overall sweetness of the pastry. My total came out to about $14, which feels like kind of a lot but I will give credit that the pastry is big. Service was very nice as well. The person who took my order helped me decide between pastries

Butter chicken croissant

Did a pickup online order for the butter chicken croissant, which I believe is a limited edition collab with a local food blogger during the month of April. Unfortunately while the concept was great, the execution less so. The butter chicken filling was nice, and substantial. But the croissant itself was lacking and became quite soggy. On the service front, it was also lacking. I walked up to the window (there is no other entrance). And there was a staff making a coffee for someone else. She didn't bother acknowledging my presence or say "be right with you" or anything. This was my first time here and I had to ask another customer if this was the right place for pick ups. It was. There were also staff walking about inside doing things, and no one bothered to say a word to me. She eventually finished making the coffee, gave it to the customer. And finally opened the window and spoke to me. Not the best experience!

Black sesame earl grey cookie

EaDough has become my local-ish, go to bakery and its a nice, easy stop for a morning baked good or drink. It's mostly a step up window with some outdoor seating so I've always just grabbed things to go. Staff have always been friendly and able to provide recommendations as the baked goods change on a regular-ish cycle. I think of the various croissants I've tried in the city, they have my favorite. The croissants are flakey and you can get them in fun flavors (cookie dough, pumpkin, almond, and other seasonal options). I did find the cookie dough croissants a bit too sweet for me personally but they were a good, rich dessert (and half was all I needed to feel satisfied). They also have a nice assortment of kolaches for savory options. Their butter chicken and spiced beef ones stand out as more unique and flavorful as opposed to standard sausage ones (not that these aren't good in their own right). I don't think I've had a bad baked good here but prices vary and I don't think the cookies are $6 (though they wre good cookies). Overall, EaDough definitely has a nice option of baked goods and seem to have consistently tasty options. They do sell out lf goods so try and get here early if you're after a specific seasonal treat!

Carrot halwa Loaf
Nida H.

Food: - earl grey sesame cookie: very sweet and rich but had a great flavor of earl grey! def one to share because of its sweetness - Biscoff croissant: also very sweet but delicious and flaky. There's a hint of other spices in there that make it so tasty!! - Shakshuka danish: delicious and savory - carrot halwa danish: probs my favorite. Very tasty but also very sweet (as carrot halwa is supposed to be) - cinnamon loaf: classic and a good pairing with a warm beverage - blueberry lemon muffin: so light and flaky yet so flavorful. A must. I was surprised how good it was!! Service: very friendly and kind staff. Ambiance: nice and clean walk up. Limited parking however easy to find a spot. Overall the treats are incredibly sweet but have a delicious flavor profile. If you're a fan of super sweet, it's for you! If you're not a fan, bring a friend and share!

Okay so they have really good coffee! And I additionally ordered a fabulous Dubai chocolate crossiant! It was amazing! Eadough definitely wasn't what I expected! I did not realize it was a walkup coffee shop that's 1. 2. They have very very limited parking andd outdoor seating only...um in this hellish Houston heat absolutely not. I was sweating while waiting to receive my order and the chocolate on my crossiant was melted from the awful heat. I definitely want to come back but maybe in the fall loool.

Tiramisu Danish

EaDough...who doesn't love a pun with their pastry? This little bakery tucked right off the Columbia Tap Rail Trail is dough-lightful in every way. Whether you're biking from the East End, strolling from Shell Energy Stadium, or rolling in from Midtown or the Med Center, it's a perfectly placed pit stop to carb-load or cool down. I've visited several times now for both breakfast and lunch, and they always rise to the occasion. Most recently, I had the chicken tikka pita pocket with herb yogurt sauce--pillow-soft, packed with flavor, and clearly made with fresh-baked pita (pita perfection, if you will). I paired it with a hibiscus mango refresher to beat the heat and split a tiramisu danish for dessert. That pastry? Danish-ingly good. Their baked goods are batter than most, and you'll want to get there early if you're after the kolaches--they're known to sell out quick thanks to growing popularity. Luckily, they've improved their stock game, and you can usually find solid options even close to closing. You can order ahead for pickup, or just walk (or wheel) right up to the window. Driving? There's nearby parking, too. And here's the icing on the donut: they sell frozen dough--including croissant and cookie dough--so you can bring the magic home. Perfect for a weekend treat or fooling someone into thinking you're a baking genius. EaDough is fun, flavorful, and full of small touches that make it a standout spot in EaDo. Whether you're here for a bite, a break, or a full-on pastry pilgrimage, this place is worth every crumb. I'm sorry for all the puns--I know they're a little half-baked‍‍. Please roll me away.

I went on a nice weather day so the outside patio worked out well. You walk up to the outside window to order. O ordered the iced matcha (good), guava cream cheese croissant (more guava than cream cheese) and a sausage cheese jalapeño kolache. I had them warm the kolache and it still was barely warm, the sausage wasn't very good but the bread was nice.

Cookie Crumble Latte

Came back to try the June Latte flavors but they hadn't quite updated the menu yet. Instead tried another May flavor, the Brown Sugar Iced Latte and finally got the Dubai Chocolate Croissant! Got there around 9am and it wasn't too busy but love the vibe of the coffee counter. Coffee came out quick and they had all pastries in stock. Not usually a brown sugar fan but this was solid. The Croissant was actually better than I anticipated. Perfect amount of sweet and the filling is a good addition. Will be back!

Lemon Meringue Latte w/ Oat milk
Alicia S.

I was in Houston for the weekend visiting family and had made it my mission to try a new local coffee spot -- EaDough did not disappoint! This cute little coffee shop has a cozy setup where you order at the window and chill at their outdoor seating area. Super relaxed vibe. They had a great selection of specialty and seasonal lattes, plus non-dairy milk options (a win for me!) and some seriously tempting pastries. The service was honestly the highlight -- the person who helped me was incredibly kind, patient (I was being super indecisive), and genuinely helpful with recommendations. I ended up going with the Lemon Meringue Latte with oat milk -- and WOW. I've never had anything like it before. Sweet, citrusy, and perfectly balanced. It came highly recommended, and now I totally get why. Can't wait to come back and try more when I'm in town again!

Inside you will also find French pastries, coffees and teas, gelato, milkshakes, sandwiches and macaroons. I felt the most interesting items were the French pastries as they are cute and tasty as well. Also, they plate the pastries nicely when you dine in as an added bonus. I tried the Chocolate Royale and the Ruby. Chocolate Royale - a petit chocolate mouse slice with flat chocolate panels along the sides. It is delicate and tasty. If you're a chocolate lover, this is definitely up your alley. Ruby - visually this looks like a strawberry Hershey kiss, with red powder on the exterior and a top piece of foil to resemble foil on the wrapper of a hershey kiss. Inside, it's filled with a strawberry cream and has a chocolate base. I just wish there was more chocolate in this one. They have plenty of seating inside as well as along the sidewalk. Inside you have the more fancy tables, whereas outside, they're more weather resistant and not as upscale in appearance. The soft drinks to drink along with your sweets are in a cold case along the hotel side of the space and you just take them to the register as you order. One of the most surprising things when you come here are the relatively affordable prices as you might expect them to be more for being a coffee shop attached to a 5-star hotel with a helipad.

What's nudged this place up to 5 stars for me is they have really improved their coffee game, specifically their quality of cappuccino's. Previously it seemed more of latte, but now to me its a legit Capp. Their choice of pastries hasn't changed, which gives you a good assortment of choices and they have added an additional barista or server which also is a nice touch for service. The only niggling items, parking can be tough, so you'll have to either walk a block or be quick to find a place close by. Regardless, definitely give this place a go to come for a pastry and coffee.

I also heard great things about the mango mochi so we couldn't leave without those. Thankfully they still had some in stock. I heard they sell out quickly especially on weekends. Those also lived up to its hype. SO YUMMY! Tastes so fresh including the mangoes. My kiddo who LOVES mango anything loved them so much! My husband also got 2 savory pastries (I forgot what they were called and I forgot to take a picture) and those were yummy too. Perfectly flakey crust just like the egg tarts. We wanted to get sesame balls but they were sold out. Customer service was great. The guy that took our order was very nice. It was pretty busy but he moved through the line quickly. There's some seating inside if you want to eat there. Prices are very reasonable at $2 each for the mochi and egg tarts. The savory pastries were $3. It's located in a shared lot/area. Parking can be tight and limited on a busy weekend day but they have parking right out front for the Eck bakery customers. Also note that if you pay with card it's a 2.5% charge so cash is better if you have it. We didn't but we know now for future. We had a great experience here and will definitely be back.
