It was embarrassing and happened in front of my family, friends, and other guests. I also noticed him speaking harshly to the waitresses beforehand, which was disappointing to witness. As a business owner and a member of the local Chamber of Commerce, I understand that businesses have policies. However, the way those policies are communicated matters. A respectful, private conversation would have been appropriate. Publicly embarrassing a loyal customer is not. Thankfully, the waitresses continue to provide excellent service, but this experience left a very negative impression and reflects poorly on the business.

When it was time to pay, another employee helped us. We had to point out that the ramen never came and ask for it to be removed from the bill. His response was simply, "Sorry about that, let me take it off. Here's your total." There was no real sense of concern, apology, or effort to make the situation right. Mistakes happen, but the lack of communication and customer service is what made this experience so disappointing. Staff could benefit from additional customer service training and more awareness of their guests' needs. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to others.

One thing I wish they'd change is utilizing the left side of the restaurant more often as it has a much cuter atmosphere. We were seated on the right side, which is clean and comfortable but doesn't have quite the same charm. It's easy to see why this has become my family's go-to AYCE sushi spot. I couldn't be ANY happier with this place. I've been to plenty of Sushi places around Whittier, and these guys are definitely top of the line! The one thing that stood out for me was how courteous and polite all the servers were. They are extremely friendly and make you feel very welcome! We ended up starting off with some spicy garlic edamame beans and seaweed salad. Let me tell you, if they could put heaven on a plate -- spicy garlic edamame was the key to eternal salvation!! I thoroughly enjoyed every mouth watering bite :) Then to top off our dinner, we ended with a plate of tuna rolls. They were absolutely delish! The freshest tuna rolls ever!! It was as if I was sitting on a Sushi boat out in the middle of the ocean, and the tuna was flyin' out of the water and straight into my mouth. That's how fresh they were! My friend told me about this place and finally we went. I am usually a picky for sushi. We walked in and immediately sat down as there was no wait. Asked the waiter what they recommend and they said e sushi special. I ordered couple other sushi as well to see the quality. When my roll came, the first bite I took I instantly fell in love with it. I was amazed. The sushi that I also tried was very fresh and soft, almost melts like butter! The service was very good too, always came to check up on us. This is undoubtedly the best sushi in the Whittier/North OC area. I've been to many and most fall very short in quality. Esushi's fish is always fresh and high quality. Chef John is not only a special sushi chef, he is very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. As well as a master of his craft. Kawa is his assistant and is almost as good as John. Used to come to Sushi from the east. First time back since new ownership and it exceeded expectations. Cilantro halibut was fresh and was high quality. Service was great, food came out quickly.
