I contracted with E & Sons paving to repair and resurface my 1/2 mile long farm lane in late May 2026. I am very pleased with the exceptional work product and the entire organization. The owner (Elisha Cooper) performed the initial site review and submitted the bid, he visited the site during and after job completion, always making sure I was happy with the work. Additionally (and consistent with the company name) two sons - Elisha Jr. and Howard - visit the job as it was underway, presenting themselves very professionally and demonstrating the high value/personally invested hallmark behavior of a well operated family business. The large, professional, courteous and efficient crew, was effectively led by Nathaniel (aka Tiger) and worked exceptionally well as Team for two full days to deliver a high quality job; on time, on budget, as expected. I bid this job to four licensed, bonded and insured companies, met with each firm for over and hour to review the job prior to bids submitted, I checked reviews/references and after diligent evaluation I selected E & Sons...and I am very glad I did..! If you need a paving job done...hire these guys...! read more

These guys were totally professional. I got another estimate which was basically just the price but no details. E & Sons gave a very complete contract with all of the details of what they proposed. The crew did a great job cleaning up afterwards as well. I strongly recommend them. read more

I sent an email to the company after one of their truck's hydraulic line broke leaving huge stains in our street in front of our home. It happened about a month ago and I thought the stains would go away after time, but no.The owner, Elija came right out and addressed the situation. He said he was out of town when it occurred and thought his workers took care of it by throwing down some dirt and hosing it down, which they probably did, but didn't work very well. Anyways Elija made good on putting down gallons of degreaser and hosing it down. I appreciated his quick response and hoping for a good outcome. He was rated highly by our neighbor by installing an asphalt driveway and their work looks very well done. Thank you. read more

FANTASTIC communication, FANTASTIC results! We used E & Sons Paving for a total dig-up and redo of our large, rounded driveway and we couldn't be happier! Awesome company to work with. It was a small job but their work was impeccable. I highly recommend this company. Great price as well.

My 2,500 square foot asphalt driveway was a mess. It was a mess when we got the house 15 years ago and it only got worse over time. It was so cracked and damaged with weeds throughout that when it rained you could feel the asphalt giving way when you walked on it. Generally when I get estimates for projects around the house I get A LOT (especially if I have no idea how much a project should cost and what it entails). For my 70 foot asphalt driveway with a 35' x 35' carport I got 10 different estimates for a full driveway asphalt replacement from local paving companies, all of which received very high scores on yelp and Google reviews. E & Sons Paving (ESP) was one of the first contractors I called and who provided me with an estimate. What set ESP apart from my experiences with the rest of the contractors I spoke with included: 1. Prompt call back to schedule a visit to my house (I think they came that day or the next) 2. Showed up on time for the estimate 3. I met with the actual owner of the company (Elisha Sr.) 4. After sizing up the project Elisha Sr. walked me through the entire project in terms of scheduling, job labor and driveway maintenance after the job was done and looked and acted professional and pleasant to speak with the whole time 5. Elisha Sr. was happy to provide me with references (one of my neighbors used them before which I was happy to hear about) 6. ESP provided the estimate quickly (I think I received it in 2 days) 7. The documented estimate was clear and concise (some contractors I dealt with literally just texted me a price and/or quoted me an estimate over the phone based on square footage alone and didn't even bother to show up to meet with me and speak about my driveway). 7. ESP estmate was extremely competitive pricewise 8. No hard sale tactics, no continually calling to inquire if/when I was going to hire them 9. Indicated that full payment for the work was provided after the job is done and the client is fully satisfied. After the meeting I was excited and impressed to find that ESP had stellar reviews on both yelp and Google reviews and had been working in my local area for a good amount of years. Through the next two weeks I met with 8 other contractors for estimates (all local to my location) and during each meeting I was reminded how impressed I was with my initial meeting with ESP. I even went "hardcore" and hired an "Angi" project manager which suppossedly would ensure that I got the best contractor and the best price (you pay $25 for this service which is refundable if you decide not to go with them). Guess what, I didn't even meet the owner for the contractor that Angi selected and instead met an estimate rep who looked like he was straight out of Duck Dynasty and was over 45 minutes late. The quote I got from them was 3 TIMES!!! the amount that ESP initially quoted me (great job Angi!). I told ESP that I'd be getting back to them in a month but actually ended up getting back to them over 2 months later. They honored their initial estimate and quickly emailed me a contract to sign and setup the appointment within two weeks. Elisha Jr. called me several times to verify and re-verify the job day and time and also answered any questions I had. During the day of the job ESP showed up with a slew of guys (I think there were six) and equipment (I think they had like 4 different vehicles). They showed up early (scheduled for 7am and they showed up at 6:45am and promptly started @ 7am). Elisha Sr. also showed up to speak with me before his crew started to ensure that all the project particulars were understood and properly communicated to his paving crew. I even threw in a last minute "audible" and asked that they bury a 20ft PVC pipe with landscaping wiring underneath the driveway which they did without issue. The job was completely finished by 11am (which I was stunned as some of the contractors told me it would take 2 to 3 days). The job site was completely clean without any rubble or materials anywhere in my yard when the paving crew left. Later that day Elisha Sr, stopped by discuss the job, how long we should stay off the pavement and provided maintenance thoughts. He asked questions about our overall satisfaction about the driveway replacement (the wife and I were elated BTW), and was very interested in all the feedback that I provided. I even asked him about another project (roof replacement) and he was nice enough to reach out with another contractor he had personal experience with for me. I wrote his company a check (which was mistakenly more than what I was quoted). Elisha immediately notifed the amount was too much and I wrote him a new amount (which I thought was very honorable of him). All in all it was a great experience and after speaking with SO MANY CONTRACTORS for this job I am very pleased with how well my driveway turned out. Well done E & Sons Paving!! This paving company was top notch and our satisfaction is complete. The owners, a father and son duo, were in contact regularly, got us on the schedule promptly, showed up when they said they would and finished the job promptly and ahead of time. The price was fair for an excellent job. This was the best experience I have ever had with a contractor and you can call me to verify everything I have said. We recently used their Mount Airy office to have some major work done on our driveway and are very pleased with the results. They were the only company that provided solutions instead of excuses for our sloping issues. Very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. read more

E & Sons Paving - New driveway - Masonry/Concrete Near Me - Annapolis, Maryland

Top notch. I got 4 bids for a driveway build. I explained to all bidders that I wanted a channel drain built in for excess water flow during heavy rains. Out of the 4, only Ernie seemed to care about what I was saying. He came up with a great idea and he and his crew implemented it perfectly, and at a very reasonable price. I really can't say enough good things about the guy. It's a family owned business with a strong crew. The job was down quickly and they didn't mind me hanging over their shoulders and throwing my 2 cents in. Everything came out beautiful. Ernie himself even came back out after it was all done and corrected a slight hiccup in the drainage (which was my fault). He's earned every 5 star review and then some from what I can tell. read more

E & Sons did a fantastic job re-paving my driveway. The price was reasonable and the work was done in less than a day. I would definitely recommend their services. read more

We needed some paving and patch work done on our lot at the shop and we called several other companies and no one really acted like they wanted to work... too late to respond or no response at all??! Tom got a referral for E & Sons and the owner Elijah came out same day, scoped out the job, scheduled and completed the job within a few days! His crew was prompt, professional and efficient! All of his equipment is clean and well maintained! They did not skimp on materials, they had a competitive price and did an excellent job! We were very impressed with the whole transaction that we had him come to the house and scope out a project we have been wanting to do for years and could never get time to shop around and do. So if you need any paving done - don't hesitate to give Elijah a call - I'm sure you will be pleased that you chose him! read more

The quality of the work seems to check out. I am pleased with 99% of my experience with them. However, after them quoting me, sending me the quote, and then doing the work, I was presented with a bill higher than agreed upon. I also rounded up 4 additional neighbors for them to pave their driveways, and not only did I not get a thanks, they were upset with me because I held them to the price they quoted me (and put in print). I would recommend them, but you need to be clear with them about negotiated price. read more

I got an estimate from Mr. Cooper, the owner, to replace my asphalt driveway for more than $2000 less than another very reputable asphalt paver that had good reviews. Even though I was in no rush to have the job done right away, he was able to it next day. He and his crew showed up earlier than they said they would be there, and were finished in a little over 3 hours. The part of my driveway that is in the City's right of way is concrete, which was installed last fall. It is still very clean and fairly pristine looking. Mr. Cooper had told me that the Skid Steer they'd be using would leave all kind of tire marks on it. I asked him if there was something they could put down over the concrete so this would not happen. The first thing his crew did when they arrived was to tape heavy duty plastic over the concrete. After the driveway was completed, the foreman, Jason, asked me to inspect it. The edge lines on each side of the driveway were very straight. They also did an excellent job making the asphalt level and straight where it met with the concrete surfaces. Two other residents in my neighborhood had their driveways recently replaced by other companies. On one driveway, there was a noticeable curve in the edge line on one side of the driveway. On both driveways where the asphalt meets the concrete surfaces, it was not a straight edge (i.e., asphalt had spilled and dried onto the concrete). The job E & Sons did on my driveway was much better looking than the other two driveways. When I inspected the driveway, it was wet and I left shortly after the crew did. When I returned later in the day when the driveway was dry, I noticed a brown spot in the driveway that turned out to be a small indentation. I texted Mr. Cooper about it. When I did, it was late afternoon (almost evening) and I didn't expect to hear from him until the next day. However, he called me back and he came over right away to look at it. He noticed two other places in the driveway that he was not satisfied with, that I had not noticed. He had a crew back early the next morning to repair all of these spots. I am very pleased with the quality of the job they did on my driveway, as well as with the price. read more

E and Sons Paving did asphalt repair and resurfacing for the common driveway in my private subdivision. This job was for an area of approx. 11,000 square feet. The quality of the work looks to be top notch. The price was very competitive. Not only did they do what was contracted but did additional repairs at no cost. Elisha Cooper is the man in charge and is possibly the most responsive and informed contractors I've dealt with. He tells you what's going to happen and when; and that's what happens. He seems genuinely concerned about the quality of his work. I highly recommend his company and as long as I live in the area I hope he is in business to do any paving for me. read more
