I called Matt Taylor in an emergency situation when a basement slab had sunk. He came quickly (even the day before a holiday when most people have checked out), analyzed the situation thoroughly and provided excellent advice regarding the structure of a new slab. Highly recommend Matt and his team. Kimberly Cestari read more

M Taylor Enterprise - The installed sump pump to expel the accumulated water. Clean and to spec. - Masonry/Concrete Near Me - Silver Spring, Maryland

Neighbor was having his 2 car garage floor redone. I had been putting off having my one car done as built in 1947 and had some major cracks. Brad came up and looked at it and we agreed to do only the half that was cracked. They had it torn out and prepped same day. Poured the next day. Price was excellent and workmanship was wonderful. They even patched some walls that were a little suspect. I highly recommend this group! Thanks read more

Mr Taylor responded to my call immediately, he explained in detail what had to be done to keep rodents from coming into my home, he was like a teacher holding my hand. He explained he would lay a metal barrier and concrete down sealing off completely the addition to my house. Four days later he showed up with his crew who efficiently completee the work. A couple weeks later he returned to repair a broken backyard fence, an exterior exhaust and a broken wall oven door. This was in addition to the concrete work. As a retired widow, he helped to lower my anxiety with home repair issues! Mr Taylor you were God sent! Thank you for listening and being honest! read more

Replaced my and my neighbors driveways. They did a great job an both of us are very happy with the work performed.

Matt & his team were professional and did a great job working in my home. Matt really knows his stuff & was able to provide me a solution during our first meeting. I highly recommend M Taylor Enterprise for any foundation, waterproofing, & basement issues. read more

This company is top notch! We used Matt and his crew to put in a driveway and retaining wall for us! What an exquisite job! First off, his crew was extremely punctual and often times waiting outside before 7 am to get started. This is unheard of these days! Talk about hardworking! His crew worked together like clockwork and created a gorgeous driveway for us. I still go outside and marvel at my two space driveway whenever I am outside. The retaining wall was masterfully put together perfectly! This takes skill and an eagle eye to piece together the beautiful concrete blocks. Matt and his brother oversaw the job and checked in with suggestions to make it excellent. Both are honest and very kind! If you want your driveway done well, contact Matt Taylor! You won't be disappointed! read more

I was so grateful to have Matt and his crew come and take care of our home. I felt in good hands. Communication was good and Matt was quite responsive. I do recommend him if you want someone you can trust to get the job done. read more

We used this company to replace a foundation wall. it was as a very big job. We would refer them to the max! They were dependable, on time and worked with us in a very respectable and informative way. They communicated any changes that had to take place and the workers were amazing! They worked hard to make sure the job was done in a timely manner. They cleaned up any messes that were made. We would use them again in a minute. read more

Matt was responsive and helpful. I had water in the basement and the work included the plumber and Matt (foundation). Matt worked with our schedule (so we only had to dig once), and now my problems are solved! read more

These guys are great! Our basement wall had horizontal and stair stepped cracking, and was shearing in. We were nervous because our gas, electric, and plumbing runs through or along that wall. We called Matt Taylor and he came right out. He quickly understood what needed to happen and his estimate came in under the others we got. My wife and I rent. Usually triangulating with our landlord in California and contractors is a pain in the @%*. Not the case with these guys. The crew was run by his brother and they were friendly, communicative, and professional. They even worked a Saturday to finish waterproofing the exterior before inclement weather hit. They completed the job in two weeks (the time expected) and restored the yard back to its former glory, seeding the lawn and mulching the beds. These folks have tremendous work ethic and experience to boot. Nice job! read more

Previously wrote this review about a month ago, and it seems to have been hidden from Matt's profile: ------------------ Unprofessional and a waste of time. We reached out to Matt in 4/2018 to receive a quote to repair our foundation. He and his wife arrived promptly to examine our property. We told Matt that we were looking to get the work done in August 2018 because we could easily be out of the house during that month. It took us a bit of time to find a structural engineer to assist Matt on the job, but we continued to communicate with him, and he alluded that our time frame would work for his company. When Matt and our structural engineer came out in mid July, Matt stated he would get us a "formal estimate on his letterhead" in two business days. Once the two business days passed, I followed up with Matt, but it took two weeks for him to send the estimate, which was a jumbled e-mail. I agreed to his estimate and asked when the work would start; he stated at the end of Sept. I asked a few clarifying questions and requested a contract and received no response. For the next month, we checked in with Matt to get the contract signed and set an official start date for the project-- numerous e-mails, phone calls, text messages, voicemails, with no response. Here we are in mid October, when the work should be completed, and the last time I heard from Matt was July 31st. Not only was it unprofessional for Matt to completely ignore us, our project was delayed months because of him, which has been a huge inconvenience for our young family. read more

We had water seeping in along one wall of our basement into our family room and also under our sun porch along the front of the house. The water wasn't flooding the basement, but we had the drywall replaced twice and had the carpet cleaned and re-stretched too. Our gutters empty underground and the grading around the house was fine, but it seems over time the water had nowhere to go but into the foundation. I think because people have made so many modifications to their homes, adding fences or driveways, doing landscaping, etc., it has changed where the water can drain, and now it ends up in people's basements. Matt Taylor and his team dug a trench inside the house along the wall (we were having the basement laundry room & bath remodeled, so the access was easier) and the perimeter of the storage space under the sun porch. It was filled with gravel and rocks to improve the drainage and a kind of screen was installed along the lower wall to force the water into the gravel pit. Then it was covered with concrete. They also replaced our sump pump. There has been no water anywhere after the last two storms (July 2020). I could not be more pleased with the work, the way the team managed the job, and the speed with which it was completed. read more

In the areas of quality, management, and schedule, for installing an interior drainage system, Matt Taylor Enterprise (MTE) work was exceptional.  MTE provided high quality installation by installing only premium equipment. For an example, MTE installed only brand recognized sump pumps and double insulated pipe (verses single). In the areas of management, MTE provided a team that possessed an uncontested amount of years of experience installing systems together. They're team kept me updated of their progress and any risks with the project was addressed beforehand, or if it was raised, it was quickly resolved with affordable and very reasonable costs. MTE team wore professional matching attire accommodating the job site. Schedule was on time with little to no rework. Given the services Matt Taylor Enterprise promised to execute on their contract proposal, I WOULD recommend them for future work and would re contract them. read more

Our basement flooded anytime there was more than 1" of rainfall. And the flooding was unrelated to any gutter issue. Matt did a hose test at the foundation at the front and side of our house to locate the area of the leak. He proposed installing a window well at the front basement window and some minor regrading to address the problem. In just a matter of 2 hours Matt's team completed the work. I fully admit I had doubts that the steps taken would solve a serious flooding issue. But I can say now, 5 months later, and after some recent heavy rain storms, there is no sign of water. We couldn't be happier read more

It has been an extremely pleasant experience to have Matt's crew work on our basement foundation waterproofing project. Matt was super sharp identifying the issue and gave the accurate recommendation with very reasonable price. The work was done quick and cares were taken for the project area. The whole team were very polite and responsible. We could not recommend this company more as they solve problem right and ease our restless mind. Five star for their honest and professional work. read more

I called and spoke with Matt the owner. He was driving and said he would call me back. He didn't. I called again and left a message 2 days later. No return call. I do not think he needs the business as he has no customer skills at all. read more

If you need some expert help solving drainage issues, call Matt and his brother Brad. They quickly understood what needed to be done and gave me some great ideas that were incorporated into the project. They poured a new driveway and sidewalk and did a number of other projects including installing a new basement drain. I was surprised that they were able to not only do the concrete work but also rebuild some planters that needed to be changed and install railings. They had a hard working team that showed up promptly every morning at 7:30am and worked very efficiently and cleaned up each day. All projects have some unexpected issues but they resolved them and provided a number of finishing touches I didn't expect, but certainly appreciated. I had a great experience and my neighbors, and even my postman, commented on how good my driveway and sidewalk looked. read more

I had a great experience with Matt and his team. He was recommended by my engineer for a complicated foundation repair job, and I'm really glad I took the advice. He and his team are super professional, and they have a protocol that works in the quarantine era (porta-potty outside, come in through basement side door, never come in the house unless they have to for the work). They got the work done quickly, and were also super responsive to a weekend emergency (a sump pump problem). And they clean up after themselves; all the lawn that got dug up and trampled is now freshly covered in grass seeds and straw, and the only sign they were here is the work itself! read more

I highly recommend Matt and his team. They provided excellent service at such a fast speed and at a very reasonable price. Matt and his team did a fantastic job with installing steel beams in my basement. I appreciate how friendly, honest, generous, and professional they were. I'm grateful I found them and I plan to hire them again whenever I need major repairs as well as recommend them to my family and friends. read more

This review is a long time coming. Back in 2018 we would see some flooding in our basement in very heavy rains. Our house is older and I was expecting the worse. One company said we would need the foundation dug out and a french drain put in. I was not prepared to drop $10,000 for such a job. Another contractor we've used recommended Matt. Matt came out and quickly identified the what he thought was the root of the problem: a leaking window well. Total cost to block the window well in and regrade $2500. I knew the window well needed repair but I didn't think all the water we had was coming solely from the window well. But $2500 was much cheaper than $10,000. Anyway, he and his crew came and 4 hours later the basement wall was blocked in and the outside well filled and regraded. Fast forward one year and regardless of the rain our basement has been dry. Not one drop of water. Matt is a professional who knows foundation repair and if I ever have a problem again, he will be the first call I make. I highly recommend Matt Taylor. read more

Dave Glick of Aspen Hill Plumbing recommended Matt to me, and I am so happy he did! Matt installed an inside perimeter drain system and sump pump to eliminate occasional wetness due to a spring under my basement in Silver Spring. Unlike some big-name "waterproofers", who just want to sell you a product without carefully investigating the situation, Matt stayed with our problem until he figured it out and solved it completely. Our case was so severe that Montgomery County added a connection to the storm drain for us. The big-name waterproofers said it couldn't be done; and Matt persevered and did the whole thing for significantly less money. As an out-of-state homeowner, I need to rely on people to do things, and I had a great experience with Matt. I recommend him because he really cares about fixing problems and he does it right. read more

Matt and his team are truly remarkable. I was blown away by the care and energy they brought to the work. The wall in the below-ground utility room of our house was leaking. Matt carefully evaluated the problem and talked us through the issues, ensuring we understood the problem and his recommended repairs. Sealing the wall on the exterior required temporarily moving an AC unit, recreating a concrete platform for the AC unit, excavating alongside the house, and regrading the land. For the job, other contractors provided estimates that were far outside of our budget. Matt's estimate was half or less of the other estimates. Matt's team completed the work in one and a half days. Everyone on the team was very professional, and communications with Matt were excellent. I highly recommend M. Taylor Enterprise! read more

I called Matt Taylor on Tuesday morning at 7:00AM and at 8:20AM he was at the house and looking over the window well that overflowed into the finished basement room. He said his crew could dig it out, clean the drains, and pour in new rocks and stones, and he will have this done on Friday. The seven man crew arrived right on time and did an excellent job of cleaning out all the wells and ensuring the downspout problem was corrected. I was extremely impressed by the entire crew and how professional they were and everything was neat and clean when they left. I would not hesitate highly recommending the Matt Taylor company for any job, big or small. read more

Matt completely rebuilt a section of the front porch and the stairs leading up to it on our 1940 rambler. The old section was cracked and crumbling, with exposed rebar. It was a tricky job because two-thirds of the original porch is covered by a pop-out, so the work had to be done without damaging that construction. Matt and his crew cut out the bad section, built a new supporting wall with deep footings under the pop-out, and framed and re-poured a new section of porch and new stairs from scratch. It took a while to schedule (mostly due to weather) but once it got going the work was done quickly and efficiently. The crew was great and we are very happy with the results. Thank you, Matt! read more

Matt Taylor the owner and operator of M Taylor Enterprise, is very knowledgeable professional and old school in that he is no pressure, easy to work with and does not require any payment until the work is completed to your satisfaction. He reinforced a basement wall in my parents home and corrected some poor unnecessary work forced on my parents from a previous company. Also removed a sagging porch and pored a new one that was reinforced on the front with structural piers and more firmly cemented to the front of the house. His workers are polite, professional and cleaned up very well after all the work was completed. I can not think of anyone else that would be better to call if you need work done for any foundation or structural repairs. His pricing is very fair and transparent. read more

I reached out to Matt for an estimate and I provided pictures of my issue. He quickly responded and provided expert advice on how I could fix the problem myself without any construction. I would highly recommend Matt Taylor for any foundation work. I talked to many different contractors about stabilizing my basement wall, and I found Matt by far the most professional and trust worthy. He offered a very fair price and spent time giving pros and cons of several options we considered. Matt Taylor consistently excels in this most competitive business. He is punctual in calling back, arriving for appointments, arriving at the job early, finishing the job on time. His crews are hard workers who take their job seriously. Matt gave me excellent advice in his analysis for repaving my driveway and patio. He saved me a few thousand dollars vs., what some other contractors estimated. His workers are neat, efficient and go out of their way to make the customer satisfied. He has become my go to man for all foundation repairs, waterproofing, concrete, masonry, and excavating. He has a wonderful website at http://www.mtaylorenterprise.com/. I will be passing along his name as my recommendation to anyone who needs this kind of work. Let me say the most important thing about Matt. He is fair, honest, and easy to work with. Moreover, he will never leave a customer dissatisfied. read more

We hired Matt to fill in an in ground pool that was beyond repair. They did an amazing job for far less than traditional pool companies quoted us. It's now been several months and we've seen barely any settling of the ground. Even our landscapers commented on what a great fill in job it was compared to what they usually see. They also seeded the area, and repaired our fence gate like new (it had to be removed to get the equipment to the backyard). Highly recommended! read more

Working with Matt and his brother was very easy from the beginning. His prices are fare and his workers are excellent. Very neat and polite. They tore out our existing cracked walkway and installed a new cement walkway in 2 mornings and even replaced the existing sod along the walkway so it looked perfect. He even had one of his guys repair flagstone steps. Would highly recommend him and use him again. read more

I received several quotes and solutions for the water in the basement issue. Matt Taylor understood all of the solutions and explained to me what he thought would be the right solution. There was no sales pitch, he just offered to do the job and get it done right. We had a lot of back and forth on what to do as I kept changing my mind about various things, and he accommodated all of my requests. At the end of the day, he did what I wanted him to do and he did an excellent job. I spoke with neighbors before I hired Matt and got quotes from other folks, but I didn't have the confidence that they would do it right. Six months later and through 3 major storms, I have no water in my basement. It is a relief to have this problem fixed! read more

Taylor Enterprise did a great job installing a new concrete driveway at our home and repairing two cracks in our rear basement wall. Matt Taylor and his brother were great to work with - very professional and committed to doing a quality job and satisfying the customer. They removed our old asphalt driveway and installed a concrete driveway that was clearly well designed. They encountered one unexpected challenge with the installation, but Matt worked closely with us and ended up replacing our old front sidewalk so that it flows beautifully from our new driveway to our front door. Their fine work has transformed the front of our house. They are also very skilled in dealing with foundation issues. Matt looked at the cracks in our foundation and quickly came up with a solution that worked well and they were able to do quickly. It's obvious Matt and his brother take great pride in their work, and we recommend them to anyone looking for quality concrete work. read more
