Craftsmanship = 5 stars Communication = 5 stars Reliability = 5 stars Craftsmanship - Alex and his team did a great job gutting and rebuilding our kitchen from the ground up. All new flooring, backsplash, cabinets, countertops, and HVAC for a 600 cfm range hood. Alex and his team worked with precision, cleanliness, and professionalism. We're very happy with the outcome of our kitchen. Communication - A kitchen renovation job is a lot of work, time, and communication in between the owner and contractor. Alex does a great job of listening to you and providing good solutions, and makes you feel like you are his only client. Our project required a lot of attention to detail and meticulous planning, and Alex's patience and lighthearted communication style was easy to work with. Reliability - Alex delivered on a lot of things you wouldn't expect from another contractor. He delivered on things that weren't even included in the contract. He hauled away about 200 pounds of cardboard and wooden pallets for us. He patched up walls we didn't ask him to. He offered to hire a cleaning lady to scrub the house once the job was done. read more

Alex is amazing! Highly recommend him and team for any home improvements or repairs. After several contractors recommended replacing hardwood floors throughout the house, Alex was able to repair just what was actually needed in a single bedroom with flawless results! Looked better than new when he and his team was done! Incredibly professional, honest, and went way above and beyond. read more

I cannot recommend enough Alex and his team. We had water damage in our shower tile / window sill. While shopping with quotes and different GC opinions, we were lost on what the real damage was (not to mention the real extend of the repair). When Alex came he immediately identified the issue, and was great at explaining / showing us the different options we had to proceed. Alex and his team were always on time, communicative, friendly, organized, and above all they demonstrated the out most care in delivering quality at the right price. Beyond this repair and how satisfied we are with the results / peace of mind, we are trilled we have found Alex and his team for future repairs! read more

Unfortunately I'm going to have to say Constanza is unreliable. They were responsive at first, giving me a ballpark figure for the work I wanted done. The Owner did say he wouldn't be able to take a look at the job and quote it for several weeks, which I was fine with. However, I got a call back two days later scheduling an appointment for the following week to get a quote and then another call about a day after that cancelling the appointment all together and telling me he wouldn't even be able to do the job until September. Thanks but no thanks. read more

Alex is one of the most honest and thorough people I have ever met. He has incredible attention to detail and makes sure you understand exactly what needs to be done and why. When the work is being done, he pays attention to every part, large and small, and makes sure it is all done at or above expectations. Alex will be my first choice going forward for any work in my house. read more

Alex and his team are first rate! They did an incredible job on a project for us that included custom shelving and marble work, external wood repair, porch repair, interior and exterior painting, and custom closet doors. Alex is a perfectionist and insisted on details that we would not have considered. He and his team are absolute professionals, very competitively priced, and a pleasure to work with. At every visit there was a personal touch that indicated his generosity and passion for what he does. read more

Alex and his team are OUTSTANDING. They have assisted us with several projects in our home, and each was an excellent experience with excellent results. My wife and I TRUST Alex - he is a man of his word, and he makes sure the job is done right and in a timely manner. He is very responsive, and he does what he says he will do when he says he will do it. And his pricing is reasonable. I enthusiastically recommend him. read more

I only have wonderful things to say about Constanza Innovations. Alex is a true professional, an excellent collaborator, and someone whose craft and skill I've grown to trust. Our house is a 1927 attached home that we bought in poor condition with the intention of fixing up. We had two nightmare experiences with contractors before finding Alex, who has been thoughtful, kind, and patient with me as I learned to trust him. Alex has a meticulous attention to detail, and I have been delighted with everything he's crafted for us. He rescued the bathroom renovation that our previous contractor really botched, and he worked closely with our cabinet designers to make sure the downstairs area was measured perfectly. He communicates really well with other professionals, and he often sees things I wouldn't think to notice. I don't know what I would have done without Alex. He's fun to work with, tidy, gives really great advice, communicates extremely well, and he's turned a really difficult project into something that looks like it was designed by a professional. Hiring him was the single best decision we made. read more

When we purchased our 93 year old house one of the first things on our to do list was to replace the rotting trim around the outside of the house and have the house painted. Alex promptly responded to our inquiry and came by to give us a quote. Even if his quote was not the cheapest it was the most complete. His attention to detail made us feel confident that he would be able to deliver on our vision. Throughout the process Alex was available to answer any questions we had. The house turned out better than expected and we have received multiple compliments from our neighbors. After the great work his team did we did not hesitate to reach out to him again when we needed to replace our roof. Our faith in him was so great that we had them replace the roof while we were out of the country. He kept us up to date via text and photos so that we could monitor the progress from afar. I have recommended Alex to multiple people since he completed the work on our house. He expresses great pride for the employees he hires and their work. It is clear that this is not just a job for him but a passion. Your house is in good hands with Alex and his team. read more

Alex is an incredibly talented contracting visionary. I met him after contracting with him on a couple of small jobs outside my home on Capitol Hill. I was immediately impressed by the level of craftsmanship he brings to his work. His attention to detail and design is what separates him from other contractors. He is impeccably honest and professional and brings a pride in his work that I have never seen in DC. On top of all this his prices are fair and transparent. He keeps his word even when it costs him money. After him building my trust and confidence I used Alex to do a full re model of my kitchen and the results have been nothing short of transformational. His work is stunning and I now will not use anyone but him. I don't want to let others know about my favorite contractor because I don t want to share him but he deserves to have his reputation spread...he is amazing. read more

My wife and I just bought a house and wanted to put a door to separate our finished basement from our main floor. I used Yelp to get quotes from multiple contractors in the area. Most of the quotes were unrealistically low (I assumed they would increase the price when they started the work) or way too expensive, and most people did not ask for more detailed information. I spoke with Alex over the phone, sent him more detailed pictures, and he gave me a very fair estimate. After reading his very positive reviews and speaking to him on the phone, I knew he would be the right contractor for our job. We agreed on the price and start-date and Alex stopped by our house to make measurements before he got started. This was the first time he was on-site. Once he got there and took measurements, he realized the job was going to be a little more complicated than he had expected. Even though he knew it was more complicated, would take him more time, and cost him more money, he honored his initial estimate. You cannot say enough for an honest contractor. So many times, they will under quote you and then keep raising the price as they work. You do not have to worry about that with Alex. Alex has excellent attention to detail and really cared about what we wanted. If there were any decisions to be made, he would always ask me and my wife to make sure that he did it exactly how we wanted it. He was very tidy and would always clean up when he left for the day. The door came out better than we could have ever expected. You would never be able to tell that it was not originally part of the house. Every detail, from the molding, to the frame, to the handle was done to perfection. I liked Alex so much, we are already having him come back to do more work. If you are looking for a skilled, honest contractor in the DC area, look no further than Alex. read more

Amazing contractor! After all the work he did on my place, I had him come out to a family house up in Bel Air, MD. It was a total gut job and I got two quotes - Alex and another local company up there. I decided to go with Constanza because I knew he would do honest, quality work but that he also had a good eye for design. Really glad I did because he recommended a few changes, a few small things here and there that made a huge difference. Can't recommend him enough, great choice. read more

Alex and his team are incredible! I had a leak in my ceiling due to overflowing of the dishwasher in the the unit above mine. I reached out to at least 6 different contractors and did not feel at ease until I spoke to Alex at Constanza. Alex and his team came out to fix my ceiling just a few days after our initial call. They were timely, honest, and most importantly they did not cut any corners - the work done was done beautifully and efficiently. They sent a fair invoice following the work. I would absolutely recommend this company for general contracting. read more

I was in urgent need for a small project. My mother became disabled and we needed immediate help to make our bathroom fit her needs. I wrote to several different contractors and Constanza was the first to respond. They came in and did the job quickly and flawlessly. I highly recommend this business. read more

I had Alex and his team help with painting and repairs for my condo. The plan is to sell or rent the place. I got quotes from several other contractors and local handy men and Alex's quote was quite reasonable and at the same time he seemed very interested in quality. This was just a great experience. We wanted shelves built in our living room on either side of the fireplace. Alex came to give me an estimate ready with pictures of previous work and also supplied great ideas. He is a true professional who clearly loves his job. He explained what they would do, how they would do it and provided a cost break-down. In the middle of the work, we realized that we actually wanted something a bit different and they were able to accommodate us on the spot. They figured out how to do it, went to get more materials and still finished within the agreed upon time frame. I am thrilled with my shelves and would definitely hire them again! read more

Alex did a great job on our kitchen island project. We had specific requirements on the size, look and materials of the project (island, counter top, granite, etc) and this company advised us on every single step. Alex also went out of his way and joined us in our search for better quality matching cabinets after we realized the cabinets we purchased from Ikea did not work and were of inferior quality. He is very knowledgeable in this field and we would love to hire him again for our upcoming project next year. After talking to at-least 7 contractors we chose to go with Constanza Innovations and we cannot be happier with the choice. Five stars all the way. read more

My house is 75 years old so bricks have shifted, wood has softened, siding has dented. I was going to replace the aluminum siding but vinyl cost estimate was $12,000. The siding was painted at some point and was starting to blister & peel. Thee bricks were painted at some point but wasn't prepped properly and literally peeling off in sheets. This effort produced smooth, neat surfaces that when painted, looks professional and and new. Constanza Innovations did an excellent job painting my house, they took the time and effort to properly clean and prep both types of surface. They sealed and caulked everything, carefully worked around plants and landscaping, and put everything back when the job was done. My house looks good and I am very satisfied with the job Constanta Innovations did! read more

Alex has done a significant amount of work for my family. He has renovated our attic, built a wheelchair ramp, renovated our kitchen, created custom cabinets for our TV and several other projects. He is full of great ideas and takes pride in his work. He does a wonderful job. He has made us several customized cabinets, a wheelchair ramp and a kitchen island that have been some of his best work he has done for us, we have been very happy with them. He is very detail oriented, for example he put a USB charger on our kitchen island which, no one in our family dreamed of but Alex did and he installed it. Now everyone uses it! He is very friendly and easy to work with. In addition, his team that works with him are all very friendly and courteous. We highly recommend him and his team. read more

I hired Constanza Innovations General Construction Company to do work in my basement due to some minor water leakage. Alex came to inspect the basement and gave me a rough estimate of how much it will cost to remedy the situation. He came back a second time when I hired Alex (owner) to ensure that his vision for the work was accurate. It is during that visit that he gave me yet another vision for the work he intended to perform. Alex is a visionary. He is meticulous in the way he performs his job. He takes pride also in the appearance of his work. In his words, he wants to do his work "clean." His crew came and performed the work and within a week the job was done. I have to say that his crew was fantastic. They left my house spotless and really took care of it. I am really, really impressed. I will use Alex and his crew again. Alex and his team have a great attention to detail. They are reliable, trustworthy, and particularly excellent with anything carpentry related. They did some work to help us modernize our house (kitchen, mud room, painting, etc.) and we were really happy with the results. They even threw in some extras like a built-in shelf and replaced a rotting board outside because they wanted us to be happy and the projects to look great. Alex and his team did an excellent job! Their work was flawless. We had all of our interior painted, some fixes, and new door handles installed. Just wanted to take a few minutes to thank Alex Constanza and his crew for the work they did on our house. I initially contacted Alex to have some masonry/refacing work done on our fireplace. From the start he was very responsive, providing me with a quote over the phone based on photos and info I had sent him. Within a few days he came to the location to get a look at the work to be done and set up a start date. I was struck by his outgoing nature and ability to provide ideas on how to go about the work to get the best results. The work was completed on time and the results were amazing. We used a mosaic chevron tile which required a good deal of precision to get right. If you need tile work, make sure you ask for Carlos, I can vouch for his expertise! Since the project went so well, I began talking with Alex about a larger project which involved demolishing an oddly placed bathroom in the living room. We came up with a plan on how to go about the work and agreed on a price. This project was much larger in scope and would take about three weeks for the demo, refinish floors, structural fixes, crown molding, drywall, etc. I was consistently impressed by the hardworking, honest, trustworthy, and friendly nature of the crew members that showed up everyday. Through the process Alex stopped by often to check the progress and we were frequently in communication by phone or text. This was helpful because we were able to come up with some additional ideas and modify the overall plan. We added lighting, repaired the stairs, and even built a new closet in the back of the house making everything look so much cleaner. Sometimes when you're doing a major renovation you come up with additional ideas during the process. Alex was happy to accommodate and instrumental in helping me visualize and plan the final result. Alex always goes the extra mile to make sure the job is done right and our expectations are exceeded. We have plans to renovate the kitchen at some point and look forward to working with him again. Make sure you give him a call for any home improvement project small or large, you won't be disappointed! read more

Constanza Innovation did a superb job of remodeling three bathrooms in my home. The project started with our two 30 year old bathrooms that were in need of a complete makeover. We added a minor update to the foyer bathroom right before we signed the contract. . Our project included total demolition of the two bathrooms including the removal of the existing ceramic tile floors and bath/shower surrounds. The foyer bathroom involved refinishing the existing wood vanity and the two remodels included adding recessed lights. We are extremely pleased with the entire project and more importantly the end product. Constanza Innovation has a tremendous crew who do the work. The onsite crew was led by Carlos who was there for the entire project. He was there on time, did the work, and cleaned up every day. They are extremely detailed oriented to ensure everything is done to the specifications. Constanza does not cut corners. They did everything perfectly and professionally. NO dust or dirt!! I couldn't believe how clean the house was every day after the crew left. Alexander knew that construction debris and dust in the air would make me unhappy. He ensured that every day ended with cleanup. Constanza is a small company that performs as good or better than the big ones. We are thoroughly pleased with the work and the price we paid. I would have no problem going back to them to have additional work done in the future. read more

I found Alex through a mutual friend. I gave him a ring, we was able to come out and look at what we wanted done. We had a dull outdated brick surface in our living room. Initially, we wanted stone all the way up with the tv mounted. Or to be easy on the pockets, we opted for half way up stone, dry wall and then TV mounted. Well, Alex took some off time before we even made the deal. He sketched out his vision and assured we would like it. In my head I was already firm with the look we wanted. Half way stone and drywall tv mounted. He came and showed us his vision and before I knew it, my husband said "Lets do it". I was shocked because my husband is hard to convince. Anyways, He came and started demo, he was very professional , very clean and when he left. It was as if he wasn't even there. We had a bit of a hick up with the stone (not his fault). We wanted a specific stone and the delivery time was 2 weeks. But as soon as we had the stone in our hands, I reached out to Alex and he was here within no time to finish. Every phase of this renovation, things were looking better by the phase. It was in no time that we were sitting in the living stoked with such great work. Now our house looks modern bigger and brighter. Thank you for a JOB WELL DONE!! read more

Definitely consider hiring this company!!! I called Alexander after reading some of the other reviews I found. We are in the process of selling our home and wanted to make some improvements. I am so thankful to have found him and his crew! We were on a short timeline for the work to be complete for our home sale and I was trying to figure out how to complete the list from out of state. I reached out to Alexander who took my call right away, listened and discussed with me various options on how to proceed. I sent pictures and he emphasized the importance of a site-visit in order to do a realistic estimate of the work. He made all of this happen quickly and was very candid about the time, materials and supplies. The cost was very fair and I was reassured the work would be done well. I was thrilled when I came back home the following weekend to see how well everything was done and some extra touches included!! He is ethical and trustworthy to do a complete job, on time, and within the agreed upon budget and was a pleasure to work with!! We were so happy with the work completed we hired his crew for the rest of the items on our list. He was able to work within our remaining budget to complete the work the following week before our home appraisal. Again, he took great care to leave our home clean, tidy and even fixed a little bit of flooring we couldn't fit into our original budget. What a wonderful company to find!!!! He is honest, works hard and really cares about his clients. I wish I had found him when we first moved!!! Will definitely be recommending him to friends and family in the area. Thank you for helping to take some stress out of our house sale!! read more

Our family had two major construction projects to take on when we moved to a new home in Silver Spring. We needed to open up our kitchen into our living room/dining room area, replace our counter tops and put in an island. We also needed to expand our master bedroom and build both a bathroom and a walk-in closet. Alex and his team at Constanza Innovations enthusiastically took on both of these projects at a fair price. We interviewed a few different contractors and architects initially but ultimately decided to go with Constanza because they understood our vision and developed it into a reality. These two projects involved moving/installing piping and fixtures, building/knocking down walls, installing beams, moving cabinets, moving electrical systems, painting, etc. Alex and his team were able to do all of it and helped us problem solve along the way with cost effective ideas and solutions when we hit obstacles. We are not experts in home repair and development so we knew we needed a talented and knowledgeable crew and, most important, someone who was honest and wouldn't nickel and dime us. Alex and his colleagues at Constanza were all of those things and more. Even after the job had been done for months and we noticed a small problem with our heating, Alex and his crew came back and fixed the problem at no extra charge (and with a not insignificant amount of work.) If you want the best job at the best price chose Constanza. They are consistently five stars for a reason! read more
