Spoke with a salesperson from this Dyson store to ask a few simple product questions. I had already decided to buy a third Dyson, but wanted to understand the different between two models that were roughly the same price, but had different names / features. Pretty simple. Upright versus stick. They only sell two kinds... This should have been easy. Me: "Hi, could you tell me the difference between this cordless and this upright?" Dyson Salesperson: "Um, well we do have a website that, um, you know you should check out" Me: "Oh, I was hoping you could tell me the difference between these two models as I would like to purchase today." Dyson Salesperson: "We just kind of do demos and can't really answer questions about them. /pause/ They don't train us about product that is old and doesn't matter anyway" Me: "Oh sorry - I wasn't asking about a product that is old, I was asking about this product RIGHT HERE - that you currently sell. Can you help me with that?" Dyson Salesperson: "Not. Really. LIKE I SAID we have a website" Me: "?" I ended up leaving and going to Best Buy of all places to buy another brand. SO happy I stopped by the demo store! Felt like walking into an Apple Store for my hair. I randomly walked in while shopping because I had just bought an air wrap with all the bells and whistles- watched all the videos - and still my curly fizzy long hair looked just OK after I used all the tools - and I was debating returning it. The extremely kind expert Lia at the store took 15 min to show me how to use it properly on my hair (heat direction pressure techniques and all) - my hair was dry fizzy and in a bun - and she literally turned them silky smooth straight- in minutes! I have had a Dyson blowdryer for a couple of years. My neighbor has a Dyson vacuum, and my ex has a Dyson vacuum. They both have the same model (v8). It's an amazing vacuum and I love using it. When it came time to replace my non-Dyson vacuum, I bought a Dyson model online. When I got my Dyson in the mail, I was excited, only to open the box and see that one of the main parts looked like it was cracked in a few places. The parts all have a marbled effect, but when I ran my nail over some of the cracks I could feel that they were cracks. I called the Dyson store in Century City, and they told me I could bring the piece in and they would swap the piece out for me. But when I called my ex before I came into the store physically, and sent him a video of the product, he said the product looked like it was refurbished and for a $400-500 vacuum, it really should have no issues when I purchase it. He advised me to exchange the whole thing, because if it is refurbished it can have issues down the line. I'm sitting here thinking it should be an easy fix. I called Dyson through their customer service number online. The customer service representative I spoke to over the phone from calling online told me they would schedule a pickup for my vacuum, and send me an exchange. I package it up, leave it at my door, and think I should have no additional issues. Already I am thinking "this is supposed to be a luxury / high-end brand, I should not have even had this issue to begin with" but I stay calm and assume that every so often, things happen. A week later, I get an email that my Dyson exchange is on it's way to me. There are 2 tracking numbers that are emailed to me. 1 tracking number marks as 'delivered to my address', 1 tracking number marks as 'label created but never sent.' I'm thinking it's odd to have 2 labels, but perhaps they were sending my exchange in 2 different shipments - 1 with the spare attachments, and 1 with the vacuum. When I get the Dyson exchange, I open the box to see that all the items are inside (so it was not sent in 2 different shipments). Then when I pick up the vacuum, I see it is the exact same vacuum I sent out (I took photos of the one I returned, and I know how I packaged it when I mailed it out). I call the Dyson customer service number again, and the associate puts me on hold for 15+ minutes of the 25-minute call. Then he drops the call.... I call the Dyson customer service number a second time, and again he puts me on hold multiple times for 10 minutes at a time. Finally, after I've been on the phone with him for over 30 minutes, he asks for the serial number of the item. I give it to him, he puts me on hold again, only to come back on the line and tell me the serial number is different than the original one so I had the exchange. I said that perhaps the exchange was not mailed, and instead they accidentally mailed back the original, as I received an email with 2 tracking numbers via UPS. I told him I could tell that this one was the original by how it was packaged, and because the parts corresponded to the photos I took. He held firm that the serial number was different, so it had to be different, and I was wrong. (I knew I was not wrong, because I took photos). Finally, I say I am just returning it and don't even want a Dyson vacuum anymore. He tells me because it is an exchange, I can not return it (wtf?!?!). Finally, I ask him to escalate the call. He puts me on hold for another 15 minutes, and then I hung up (almost an hour call altogether). I then come into the Dyson Demo store in Century City, p*ssed off. Harry, the manager, immediately addresses the issue and tells me bring the vacuum in, and they will exchange it for me. I don't think I could be angry for more than 2 minutes in the store because of how the situation was handled by Harry. He handled the issue quickly, with a great deal of professionalism, and with what I would expect from a brand such as Dyson. Now that I know Dyson Demo stores are separate from Dyson online, I will always buy Dyson directly from the store. read more

The store even has a hair stylist to show you how to use the hair tools (call to check the stylist's hours and/or schedule an appointment). I saw stylist Lia - she was very sweet and helpful. I've stopped in this store several times to look at the Airwrap and finally booked a styling consult with Tatum. I was able to learn about all of the attachments and how to use it properly on my specific hair type, as well as how to use each attachment to create different styles.
