I don't know.. I said BIG, so he asked "something like 70?" I don't know.. show me some... We actually found several things we wanted, however when we found something, the guy right away said, OK this comes in 15 finishes and several sizes, got out a catalog and started telling us what we wanted... we really just wanted exactly what was on the floor.. Eventually, the sales guy, nice as he was, literally talked himself out of selling, a tub, a shower head, and a door lock... I just placed my order for the lock and shower head on Amazon instead. Nice place to browse, but the sales guys are a bit overwhelming, and don't know when to stop selling. I'm probably not going back.

Our salesperson Ryan did a fantastic job explaining the features of both items and letting me know what was required to install them into our kitchen. They worked around my challenging schedule to deliver them quickly to us. The delivery team was patient, diligent, and outstanding. They worked with us to ensure that we were satisfied with not just the function of the refrigerator and freezer, but also the appearance in our kitchen. I was warmly greeted by Sheila, who was extremely kind and helpful. I briefly explained the exploding shower head tragedy, and after a quick look in the back, she retrieved a beautiful shower head. At first glance, it seemed a little outside my budget. After expressing my concerns, Sheila gave me a more than generous offer without hesitation. I'm truly grateful for the experience I had today. If your shower head randomly explodes, take a trip down to Westside Bath - you won't find anywhere better.

2 Stars = "Meh, I've experienced better" and that is exactly on point with this place…read more Altmans is located at the corner - it's not hard to find especially with the adjacent and sparkly Altmans Surfaces addition that is currently in progress (the front is attractive; the back is still being made). We stepped into the established store on the left. The front is not much bigger than a no-name cell phone store. The back is really cramped with fixtures. There's a small corridor that connects to Altmans Surfaces next door but you wouldn't know it at this time because it's filled with construction material. Aside from a couple of show piece tubs out in the front, the store is not what you'd expect from a place in Beverly Hills, although it is located in the less swanky part of the city. They packed every square inch with products - toilets and tubs on the ground, fixtures on the walls. There are interesting brands but no prices anywhere. In the back there is one desk with a sales guy and a customer across from him. Both weren't saying much to each other. At first I thought they were two employees or friends chilling, but then I noticed the customer's credit card information was being typed into a computer. We walked by and decided to walk out next door to check out the prettier counterpart and come back in a few minutes. Walked into Altmans Surfaces - nice looking tiles but go next door to Westside Tiles. They also had sample showers etc, no prices, fine. A guy greeted us and we told him our story. Instead of giving us some information that we were looking for, he suggested that he come over and measure everything and then provide us with options. There was one unit in the store that I was interested in learning more about but something much more basic, but he didn't offer any brochures or websites for me to do research on. I'm all about doing my own homework so I wasn't too thrilled thus far about the possibility that my options here were going to be way out of range and practicality. We were led back to the original Altmans and to the first sales guy coming out of the employee restroom. He had a thick tongue and it was a bit difficult to understand. I told him about the homework I already did but wanted some help in getting additional information. He tinkered with some price book at his feet, googled something on Yahoo and showed me the address of a dealer. I went home and looked at the website and that was not at all what I was asking for. As we were walking out, he told me to let the dealer know that he referred us. If I were rich, I'd go to the fancier stores up in West Hollywood that provide better displays with employees with better people skills. But I'm not rich, and I thought the sales guy at the Bathroom Store in Torrance was significantly more helpful in giving me tips and providing me with brochures in the 15-20 minutes I spent there. The store there was even smaller than Altman's, but I felt more productive walking out their doors with something to go on. The fact that there are no prices anywhere lead me to believe that some people will get more favorable prices and others will get gouged for the same item, and I just don't want to play this game. Perhaps this place is for people in the industry who know what they need and just need the supplier. For common folk, look elsewhere...even the Kohler Signature Store in Culver City is $$$$ as heck but at least prices are prominently displayed so you know you're going to be treated fairly. Overall, it was a huge waste of time.

I highly recommend the experience from product information to purchase to installation. Product Info and Discovery: I was surprised to learn that not all Sub-Zero retailers are the same. Given that we already had a Sub-Zero and were replacing it after more than 30 years of usage, we started our process at the Sub-Zero showroom in Costa Mesa. This location was purely informational, as they don't sell at that location, but we were able to see and compare every unit. We visited a Ferguson Home but was disappointed at not being able to see the unit we were looking to purchase and because the salesperson was not fully aware of all the features of the model. We ultimately purchased from UAKC because the units were were interested were not just side by side, but powered on to the same level of coldness that you would have in your home. That was huge for us as it helped us understand how cold our drinks would be and how cold our foods would be chilled in each compartment. Purchase: I worked with MD Rayhan on the purchase process. MD was helpful in providing "crowd sourced" feedback from his other customers to help me choose between the Pro and Classic models. Specifically, I wanted to understand if the Pro freezer was going to be too small (it runs about 50% smaller than my prior Classic freezer) or if it was simply moving along with the consumer trend toward more fresh foods. Given that Sub-Zero pricing is fixed regardless of retailer, MD helped me find manufacture rebates that I qualified for and was market competitive on installation costs. Lastly, MD helped find inventory and schedule my delivery so that I could get the new unit installed as soon as possible. Installation: UAKC sent a four person team of certified installers led by Juan and Alex. The certified expertise was helpful because it got us a longer 3 year warranty, but the expertise around the equipment was also invaluable. From unboxing the unit on our driveway to carrying the 650 pound unit up a few stairs, removing a door and leaning the unit through our doorway, everything was done professionally, cleanly and with no scratches to home or refrigerator. They even polished the unit and removed all the plastic film covering the stainless steel panels so that the refrigerator was ready to be used. The entire process took about two hours. Couldn't ask for more.

When I did my homework, Best Buy and Costco both have great customer service that I have personally experienced on a number of items and they matched the lowest price and that's where I saved a lot because I did NOT buy from Universal Appliances. I went from a huge samsung washer and dryer to the miele and I have sooo much more room in my kitchen. Amazing. Absolutely worth the extra cost. I also went the next day for a "delicious" class with Chef Keith on using my induction stove, again super helpful. We made three simple japanese dishes, onigiri with tuna, masubi with spam, and tempura (eggplant and carrot). Fun, delicious, and informative.
