Yesterday, my shower head randomly exploded, so I took a short trip down Santa Monica Boulevard to Westside Bath & Kitchen to get a replacement. I drive by this store every day, so I was excited to finally pay a visit. For starters, the inside of the store is beautiful and clean, with a huge selection of luxury bath and kitchen appliances to admire. I was warmly greeted by Sheila, who was extremely kind and helpful. I briefly explained the exploding shower head tragedy, and after a quick look in the back, she retrieved a beautiful shower head. At first glance, it seemed a little outside my budget. After expressing my concerns, Sheila gave me a more than generous offer without hesitation. I'm truly grateful for the experience I had today. I was quite disappointed with the level of service and attention provided by Westside bath. My fiancée and I stopped by to look for plumbing fixtures as we are in the middle of a remodel. The only person in the store seemed to be more interested in sitting at the computer than helping us with picking out items. Not much else to say as we left after 30 minutes in the store. Normally when you leave a business with the feeling that you gained some additional knowledge or made progress toward a goal, it would be considered a good experience. Sheila, the store owner, has been helping me for about three years, and my father for 10, with all sorts of orders we have, anywhere from showers, tubs and a few toilets and sinks, to faucets and knobs. This means a lot to someone knowing regardless of the quantity of what you are buying, and an orders size, your assistance and service is always above par and wonderful. Sheila has been the main person who has assisted me and she always helps me pick from an array of the best quality options for all sorts of clients I have and their diverse budgets. She is helpful and attentive in every step of the process and the quality of her inventory is top of the line with much better deals. We spent three hours in the store placing an order for our entire house. At first we thought service was great and that they would be organized enough to have our order done and ready since our renovation was still months out from being done. I have now been back to the store about 10 times to pick up missing parts or get replacement parts for items that were the wrong finish. Any time I call they say they'll call me back and they don't. Any time I go in, they haven't ordered the items that they said they have that I'm there to pick up and I've had to sit in the store for an hour or more while they place the order. Then they'll tell me the item will be ready for pickup in 2-3 days and if I come back to pick it up it's never there or ready! It's now been 6 months since we originally placed the order and we are STILL missing pieces!!! Any time I call, I get put on hold for 45 minutes while they figure out where our missing items are and there is never any resolve. Any time I go in I have to watch them place the order. This business desperately needs to get themselves organized. I recommend that you stay clear if you're looking to place any orders beyond one faucet because you'll never end up getting everything you ordered. read more

LOVE this place -- hands down best customer service I've experienced at ANY business in a long time. I mainly worked with Carlos who is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, but Sheila (the owner) and the rest of the team that works there are all personable and knowledgeable. The whole store has a family / mom and pops vibe which is nice. My advice if you need help with selecting items -- make an appointment. I "walked-in" initially and they were helping other customers, but when I went back the next time I called ahead and made an appointment. They blocked out the time to sit with me uninterrupted and helped me choose the items I wanted. While I was there someone walked in and Carlos even told them, call me and make an appointment. On to Carlos -- who was my main point of contact there. I loved working with him. Not only was he knowledgeable, but also super nice, laid back, and personable. I didn't come in knowing the exact brands I wanted, although I had made a Pinterest board with some ideas and styles that I liked. Immediately Carlos saw what style I was going for and pulled a couple books and showed me options of items. I'm mildly picky, but he walked me through various options to get me EXACTLY what I was looking for -- even down to getting specifically styled escutcheons for the shower arm. He was always available to chat (on phone and email), and guided me throughout the entire process. Although I had done some remodeling with my dad when I was younger, this is my first bath remodel on my own. I was a little nervous going in, but now I realize I couldn't have been in better hands. In total, Carlos helped me select and purchase my sinks, faucets, shower fixtures, tub, door handles, toilets, and even a steam unit for my shower. I just ordered everything last night -- I'll update once everything is received, but honestly, I feel pretty confident in everything we selected. I know I've gone on and on but I can't rave enough about this place. They made this whole process super smooth and fun for me. I stopped by for some bath inspiration and when I started asking questions about options for an alcove bathtub or drop in/ undermount bathtub the salesperson said "don't say alcove" and "it means you don't want to spend money." She then started asking if I had a contractor yet and smirked when I said "no" and then she walked away. I guess if you are looking for snobbery this is the place to go. I came into this establishment looking for a sink bowl and a faucet, I noticed Sheila waiting on a customer so I patiently waited till she finished, once she helped me out I explained to her what I was coming in for and she told me she had it in stock, while in the middle of her helping me out, she went ahead and got on the phone she left me standing in the middle of the floor. I was upset by this time and I asked one of her employees to help me out and since they could not they went ahead and asked her, they came back and told me that she was on a call with a very important client and that she could not help me out. Called and spoke to Sheila re a lefroy brooks faucet they carry there products,She had asked me to text a picture ,which I did and promised to call me the next day with an answer.Three days went by no call from Sheila,eventually i got hold of her she told me its not a lefroy brooks although clearly written on the valve trim in the picture I sent her has lefroy brooks clearly written on it,she said she would email me that info ,never got an email,my customer was very frustrated,and Im not sure if my customer thought I was telling the truth or not,I told my customer to call west side bath ,she called obviously could not reach sheila but talked with Carlos who asked her to send him a picture ,my customer told me Carlos took less than 5 minutes to locate this valve part.I was treated really badly by Sheila who is actually the owner she is not very honest and obviously couldn't care less about you unless you are placing a large order,does not stick to her word,sheila at west side made me look like an idiot to my customer I challange her to show me proof of email she sent me .As far as im concerned Sheila is a terrible business owner and is only looking for the big dollar orders and screws the little plumbers ,I would and will never recommend or purchase anything ,or install any product that comes from that store read more

When our budget and plans changed because of the economy, she stepped up to the plate and offered a whole array of choices in a variety of price ranges more consistent with our new budget and did it all so graciously that what could have been an unpleasant experience was not.
