A grey water pipe in the wall broke and we had to do remediation. DWP's crew started work within a couple of days of completion of remediation. The work was done expeditiously and with good explanation. Something to note, the company consists of an all family work force. There was absolutely no creepy vibes. I've had previous help drop by and they totally gave off creepy vibes, but none of that was felt with DWP's crew. Honest hard working people. I reached out to Dana regarding both a slow faucet and a potential leak under my house. He personally came out the same day to take a look at both issues. He assessed the slow hot water in my kitchen faucet to be the cartridge and offered options of replacing the cartridge (1 hour minimum of his time) or replace the faucet with an upgraded model that would likely take the same amount of his time. He then crawled under my house to take a look at a potential leak under a bathroom that a previous service person had identified. He noted it was an extremely slow leak from using the tub and suggested several options to repair it. As I plan to remodel that bathroom in the near future, I decided not to pursue that repair. However, I did choose to upgrade the kitchen faucet and purchased a Moen faucet at his suggestion (lifetime warranty, very well made). I chose one with a hands-free activation and Dana said it might take a little more than an hour to install. Once I had the faucet, I contacted Dana and he returned personally to install it. He installed it in an hour and offered a few suggestions as far as battery vs. A/C use. The hot water is now flowing perfectly! My aunt hired this man to come in and work on her mobile home before being sold in Sunnyvale. - He mixed water lines up on the faucets. Which required her to hire another person to come and fix this. - He took shower door frame off and didn't put back on He was also hired to do extra things for example painting and flooring. - He cut flooring inside home leaving dust all over - He got paint on leather furniture - Paint on new floor - Paint on ceiling fan - He left mess behind - He used property as storage for other jobs - Stored food and drinks in fridge with out asking for permission. - promised work to be finished within 2 weeks but took 2 months and only finished because aunt wasn't going to pay because unfinished work. Which was holding up sale process of her home This man is unprofessional and makes excuses for why he doesn't finish or show up. Then turns around and sends nasty email to my aunt He had 2/3 of her money and left her home in disarray before finally hurriedly finishing and cutting corners to finish. My aunt finish paying him the last third just to be done with him and hired another contractor to fix and finish all his mess ups. I've been waiting to write this review since day one of groundbreaking. The short version of the work performed is posted below. For those of you who know San Mateo, we live in the Shoreview/Parkside area, east side of Hwy 101. The homes in this area were developed in the early to late 50's. One major known problem with these homes are the shifting soil along with terra-cotta sewage drain lines to the city main. Growing up on this street I now live on, I recall multiple homes in my area with the same problems. Within the first year of purchasing our home, we experienced a pretty severe clog in our pipes. I started with a household snake, Drano, took apart some pipes with no results. I rented a 75 ft. powered snake from Home Depot using the "cutting bit", I began to pull tree roots from my sewage line that attached to the city main. It was a temporary fix for a lifetime of problems to follow. I contacted Roto-Rooter to run a camera through my pipes to see what problems lay underneath. Needless to say, the video reveled multiple problems, such as roots finding their way between the terra-cotta connections, a crack where the pipe 45'd down to the city main and a disconnection at the city main with a 2 in. drop. After years of applying bandaids to this system, it finally failed. Talking to my neighbor, she highly recommended Mr. Waller Plumbing Services (DWP). She proudly showed off DWP's professional work. I personally know Mr. Waller but I did not know the extent of DWP plumbing company or experiences. I knew for a fact, this was not going to be an easy task. Very labor intensive even for the "Big" plumbing companies out there. I contacted Mr. Waller to come out for an estimate. Mr. Waller was comforting, easy to talk to and quickly erased any doubt/anxieties as he described in great detail how the the work was going to be performed. He described possible foreseeable issues which they may encounter during the process. Such as the break at the the city's main wye. We negotiated a very reasonable price, much less than the "Big" plumbing contractors out there and immediately got to work. Note: We we used the City of San Mateo, Sewer Lateral cost sharing program which pays half of the cost of repairs up to $5000 The initial plan was to Pipe Burst but the damage to the pipe was so bad, it would not be feasible. The only method was to trench the pipe across the entire yard to the city main. I did not think it was possible for them to dig out 70 years of packed soil and clay. The soil here is pretty much concrete. DWP exposed the entire line, starting 3-4 ft. down near the house to an amazing 10 ft. down to the city main. We were all amazed at how the pipe 45'd down 10 ft. to the city main. The city main itself was a 10 in. pipe. As DWP suspected the wye at the city main was broken at the main, leaving no material to repair and/or connect to. DPW dug out the remaining section of the 10 in. main and spliced in a brand new section with a wye. Upon completion the City of San Mateo's building inspector came out to inspect the repair and was extremely impressed with the work DWP performed. DWP supported the sewage pipe with bedrock/gravel and patiently back filled the trench allowing the soil to settle uniformly. We asked Mr. Waller not to install the concrete Christy boxes until we figure out what we want to do with our landscape. In conclusion, we are extremely impressed with Mr. Waller's professionalism, honesty, commitment, hard work ethic and dedication to his craft. We highly recommend DWP for your plumbing issues. His work left a long lasting impression, one which caught the attention of my neighbors including my parents that will be requiring the same service for their sewage line. THANK YOU DWP FOR SUCH AN AMAZING JOB! Short version of DWP work performed ⁃ assessed job honestly, professionally and in great detail. Dana Waller did work for us a few years ago to install outside water filters & were very happy with the work. Called Dana recently to help with a clogged pipe. Wonderful response on the phone, he said don't worry, we'll find it & fix it. After waiting 5 days for our appointment, he was to arrive between 9-10 a.m., I had everything arranged for this appointment but apparently he did not. After a couple hours of waiting I called to see if he was still coming. Left my message, did not hear from him again, he never called. He was a no-show all day, all day waiting, not knowing. My mom who lives in Menlo Park sewer line broke left her with a horrible smell a sewage everywhere in the crawlspace after calling around and getting pushed off until the following Monday because no one wanted to get down there with the sewage in there. I ran across Dana Waller plumbing, he can out immediately and let us know that she had 20 feet of pipe that needed replacing and a 10 x 20 area of standing sewage, poor guy had to clean the sewage before he could reach the problem. He did a great job ,the pipes working fine and the smell has been replaced with well not sure why he used but 4 days later and it still smell great. Dana and his son assessed our deteriorated sewer pipes in our crawl space. He took pictures of the awful seepage from an old 6" bend. They replaced that section and some 2"pipes with pvc.
