Wow! This place was so good! You walk in and order and then they bring the food to you. The first thing I noticed was the people and how friendly they were! Service was very fast as well. One thing I didn't know till I was walking out was that all of the employees are recovering drug addicts. I think that is a great idea and I love how they do that! On to the food; I had half of a grilled pb and j and half of a DV8 grilled cheese. I thought the pb and j was great. It seemed like it was in between two pieces of French toast. Not as toasty as I thought it would be but still good! The DV8 grilled cheese was very good. It comes with avocado, cheese, dijonaise sauce, and bacon. Sadly they did not put the avocado on it so I didn't get the full experience. Still really good though! We also had 2 orders of tots. They were greatly seasoned and such cool shapes! My family of 5 ate lunch at DV8 on Thursday. Our food all tasted great, but when it arrived, our daughter's food was missing, so I let the person who delivered it know. It turns out that the friendly cashier forgot to ring up my daughter's order (I checked my receipt to see, but I was not charged for it). So I asked if I could pay for her food, but they said no, it was their mistake. They were VERY friendly & we all enjoyed our meal. read more

Absolutely amazing place. I have visited both before and after quarantine, and in either scenario this place is above and beyond my expectations. The food, first and foremost, is delicious. I have tried quite a few things from the menu and they have all been really, really good. My personal favorite is the Monte Cristo, it's so good I've had dreams in the middle of the night about it! But their other sandwiches, sides, and pastries are also amazing, there is surely something in the menu for everyone. And it's local! Which brings me to the other wonderful thing, their mission. They are as local as it gets, and their purpose of helping the local community makes eating there that much more satisfying. This is my favorite brunch spot in Lexington. Everything on their menu is amazing! I usually go for the orange marmalade chicken sandwich, breakfast tacos, or general tso's tacos. My boyfriend always gets the chicken salad on their homemade sourdough which is one of their more popular dishes. I also HAVE to get a cinnamon roll every time I stop by. I also think it is worth noting that this business's mission is more than admirable-- they only employ recovering addicts. I encourage everyone to visit here! read more

A complimentary slice of sour dough bread while you wait. The cinnamon rolls are amazing! The creme brûlée just melts in your mouth. I have noticed it is more of a spicy food in what I've had. I had the bacon and egg sandwich. I ordered biscuit and gravy with no sausage and the gravy was extremely spicy. Not sure if it was a fluke batch or if it's always like that. My daughter wouldn't eat it. I won't knock the rating due to our personal preference, but I've never seen gravy that spicy before. Great food & amazing customer service! They have complimentary sourdough bread & jams while you wait for your food, although my food came out fairly quick. Came in for lunch and had their strawberry salad & added chicken to it. I ate outside and forgot to pick up my utensils when I got my drink but the staff was quick to bring me some. The outdoor space is nice and decorated with potted flowers- it was pretty sunny when I went so I did have to find the shaded areas but it was lovely. This was a wonderful experience for my husband, toddler, and I. We grabbed brunch on our way out of town after staying with family who live in Lexington. The egg and bacon platter was devoured by my son along with his fruit cup and several pieces of sourdough bread. I loved my veggie curry tacos and my husband really enjoyed his burger. Though it was packed a very nice couple offered their table to us since they were heading out. Staff were all very friendly and the food was ready quickly. I discovered late in the game that the high chairs were all in the back near the restrooms. They do have changing table equipped restroom facilities. Bread was so good we grabbed a loaf to go along with coffee for the road. I was excited about the concept of providing a second chance for folks on recovery but glad to find that it is apparently working so well. read more

My experience at the DV8 kitchen was incredible. I am visiting from Miami FL and did not know where to have breakfast but wow I came into this gem and was blown away. I was quickly greeted when I walked in and had a detailed breakdown of the menu with a bit of the history of the restaurant. I actually ordered one of the recommendations and the flavor on the DV ocho was mind blowing. When my girlfriend took a bite all she could say was whoaaaa. She ordered the egg croissant sand which (freshly baked in house) which was incredible as well. We finished our breakfast with a delicious warm cinnamon bun that perfectly melted in my mouth. Aside from the incredible staff, the beautiful atmosphere and the amazing food, this business is about a life changing cause and has made me a life long customer. I've been wanting to try this place for the longest and today was the day! I'm gonna go ahead and say I'm going to come back here and try their other popular dishes bc the orange marmalade chicken on brioche bread was slap ya mama good. I enjoyed their bread and butter/preserves bar while we waited for our food. The coffee bar was great..it's nice to have the option of lactose free creamer on the bar. We opted to sit outside on the patio because it was a beautiful morning. Our food was served to us with short wait time. It was refreshing to sit out there (minus the loud garbage truck) and admire the nice pots of flowers, and to my surprise the herbs and plants in the planters! I was so distracted and in awe that I accidentally threw my uneaten cinnamon roll in the garbage!! As tears were forming in both my eyes, I came upon their nice little herb garden and was so excited to see all the herbs they were growing! Including the Thai Basil. I was happy again. As for the cinnamon roll, I guess it'll be a great excuse to come back to this spot sooner than later to get another one. What a great first-time experience here. read more
