Perfectly prepared garlic fries...so yummy!
Judith D.

Another spectacular lunch at the Dutch Flat Hotel Restaurant. Our fabulous server Laura Lee recommended the seared wild-caught ahi on a bed of arugula with a soy-ginger vinaigrette, and she was spot on...the dish was beyond delicious. The garlic fries were the best we've ever tasted...crispy, not greasy and with the perfect amount of garlic. The Gold Diggers Pan Potstickers, as always, were amazing. Chef Jami deserves a Michelin Star for her remarkable talents!

What a charming, historical, warm and welcoming place! Leif and Wendy were so nice and gave us a little tour of the hotel.

Amazing little hidden gem! Food was outta this world! My son won't eat anything and he ate this huge burrito! Highly highly recommend! The old world charm will knock your socks off. Family owned and operated! Order the chicken piccata

Thanks Lee!

Took a short roadtrip with Thom to Dutch Flat yesterday. Went up for the annual Rummage Sale. Weve been hearing good things about the Dutch Flat Hotel with new owners who have brought the bar back to life. Great ambience in this 1852 hotel saloon. Adding a simple bar fare menu, nice wine list, plenty of beer on tap and then some. Lee and his wife have added a nice stop while discovering the Dutch Flat area. Great day trip!

The whole experience was amazing! I truly recommend this place. Great food, great owner and staff, and great historic experience!

Leif and Wendy are awesome! Great experience, great food, and such an amazing historic experience! Love this place!

Awesome experience, great ambiance, delicious hot food! The pretzel is huge, and perfectly paired with the yummy sauce. We couldn't decide what to order, so we ordered a little of everything, lol. We got the pretzel, the wings, the hamburger, the flatbread, and there could've been one other thing. Drinks were excellent too. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. We went there on August 15 to celebrate my birthday, it was 100% perfect. We will be going back. If there were 10 stars on here, I would get it.

This place is in a great location. The hospitality here is second to none. The beds are cozy and the deck is pretty nice to chill on.

The breakfast is great and the owner, Leif, makes the best French toast in the world.

The dish is fabulous bursting with flavor..... an absolute home run. My wife had a half order of biscuits and gravy with 1 egg and was raving about it. The cheddar and chives biscuit was the bomb , excellent sausage gravy on top...... can you say comfort food. My wife has a small appetite so the 1/2 order was more than enough and at 9$ quite a bargain!! You can feel the history of this hotel that dates back to 1856, the bar area is awesome with beautiful woodwork. The historic brick building just draws you in , like "I need to go in there"....... I had seen the dinner menu the night before and it was a little pricy so we decided to try breakfast first and now I can't wait to go back for dinner, if they are putting that much love into breakfast , I'm sure dinner at the National Exchange Hotel will not disappoint !! See you soon, Cheers!!

Debbie and Alexi were wonderful and gave excellent customer care. Our room was mostly good. There is no comfortable seating in the room however, although it may have just been our room. We had a room in the annex section out back. Leaving our room, we were immediately outside in the weather, which wasn't too big of a deal other than it was storming. Additionally, the shower had not had a decent cleaning in a LONG time. Mildew and mold was growing heartily from the floor to about 3 feet up the wall. A little scrub could easily take care of it. Also, the hooks for the towels are right over the toilet so be very careful that your towel doesn't slip off the hook as mine did, or you'll have a toilet water soaked towel. There is absolutely no coffee in the room so you have to go outside in the storm to get to the coffee which isn't open until after 7. Also we were at the coffee station at 7:50 and the one small pot was already almost gone and the 30 minutes we waited for someone to refill it, no one came. The next HUGE problem is the parking. There are no marked spaces for the hotel so good luck getting a spot until after all businesses are closed. We had to move our car 3 times due to the parking regulations of time.

Had we known about the hotel ahead of time, it would've been a better stay…read more The hotel is not a bad place, at all. It's full of history and class. It's clean and central to many locations in town. The chief complaints I have are these: 1. The walls of the hotel are paper-thin. You can hear *everything* going on outside your door and the rooms next to yours. 2. There are no TVs in any of the rooms. For #1, nothing to be done about it but go in forewarned. For #2, not knowing that was totally our fault. The TV situation is listed on their website. But TVs are such a standard item, who thinks to look for that note..? :P Now. The best part of our hotel stay was Ulina. She was the front desk rep when we got there. She was extremely friendly and very helpful in getting us settled in. She went above and beyond her duties to make sure our 2 night stay (that turned into a 1 night stay due to job issue) was stress free and comfortable. If you stay here in the future, ask for Unlina, you will not be disappointed. :)

The main dining room only has three or four tables, so I recommend calling ahead for a reservation. The shareable plates and desserts were delightful, but there were some issues with the mains: Brussel sprouts had an incredible glaze, a perfectly balanced dish. Salmon bowl was okay... kimchi and seaweed salad were excellent but the salmon tasted like the pre-marinated cuts from any chain grocery store. Large plate, I could only eat about half. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare! The portion, however, was very small. Chicken pot pie was frightful, I wish I would've taken a photo of it. Presentation was... deconstructed to say the least. It looked like a slop of filling plopped on a plate with ~half of a biscuit in the middle of the mess. A dissatisfying disappointment, especially for a $40 dish. The desserts were wonderful! Rating four stars instead of five due to the menu being an overpriced for the overall quality of the main courses. You're definitely paying to eat at a beautiful historic hotel, not for the quality of the food.

We decided to try the studio room as the option was available this time. The same as the previous visit, both employees who were working were extremely nice and accommodating. They gave us our room keys and reminded us of their complimentary drink vouchers. I still like the added security measure that, in order to go up in the elevator, you have to use your room key each time. When we arrived in our room, we were ecstatic. It was very roomy, with a couch that had a pull-out bed, a king-sized bed, a desk, and a sofa with a leg rest. I loved that this room had hardwood floors! We arrived late due to traffic and had to hustle to make the time frame for the drinks. We made it in time, and the gentleman who served us was very nice. We slept very well and were eager to have their continental breakfast again. It was exactly like the previous year, with the food being replenished constantly and the area being cleaned. The hot food options were biscuits (with a gravy option), sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, and French toast sticks. They had cereal, fruit, yogurt, toast, and bagels. There was also a coffee bar and juice options. We indulged and enjoyed our hearty breakfast. The hotel allowed our requested late checkout, so we were able to stroll downtown and enjoy a lazy morning before leaving. We will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future, and may bring the kids with us! From the staff, the cleanliness, the complimentary items, and the reasonable pricing, you cannot go wrong with staying here.
