The gorgeous design and attention to detail with the structures design and both interior and exterior design, are breathtaking. I came across this place while surfing airbnb and we couldn't have been any happier that we found it. Briana was a great host! She gave me a call within a few hours of me booking the place online. She advised me that it would be smart to have all of my grocery shopping done prior to arriving at Casa Bella Verde as there are no stores in the immediate area and she also advised me of the unpaved road that is leading up to the house when you turn off the main road. Having the knowledge of these things was very helpful. The "guest house" that you stay in has everything that you might need to have a weekend (or even longer) of relaxation. The guest house is very modern with the amenities one might need and not need. We were particularly fans of the jacuzzi hot tub which is big enough to fit 4 adults. We enjoyed having our morning coffee on the deck which has some amazing views. As a host, we couldn't have asked for a better one. When we got there she did a walk through with us to explain to us on how all of the gadgets work (everything is very high tech.) The fridge was stocked with eggs, some english muffins, and orange juice. As we were making dinner we realized we forgot olive oil and balsamic, I had asked Briana is she by chance had any and without a doubt she did. Within a couple of minutes of me asking I was able to walk over to the main house and there was what we had asked for on the kitchen counter. Our cabin, "High Commission," is pretty much right on the river so you can sit on the deck with your morning coffee, listening to the river. Our cabin was well set up, and the property is wonderful. We had some rain while we were there, so we didn't do a fire at the communal campfire area, but we did hike around a bit based on tips from the friendly staff, and it's beautiful. Plenty of awesome stuff to do in the area, too, no matter what you're into. I'm into mountain biking, dirt biking and hiking, so I'll probably be back a bunch of times!

Equipment is included for kids 8 and under (size 4 and under). Steal! At that price point, this is the perfect snow day with a group of kids. For anyone outside of that range, rentals are $59 flat, whether you stay two hours or all day. Go all day to maximize your rentals! That said, the kids play area was pretty underwhelming for my kids (ages 10-12). The slopes were short, not all lanes were open, and there was only one black magic carpet running. That meant tubers, snowboarders, and skiers were all sharing it, which slowed things down quite a bit. Getting around wasn't the easiest either. There's only one entrance and exit and into the resort, so you're walking everything in while the kids carry their gear. Not terrible, but definitely inconvenient. We were told there was a tram running every 5 minutes, but it wasn't operating that day. My guess is they scale back operations on discounted days (fewer lanes open, no tram, only one black magic carpet). Parking was easy for the only entrance, which I appreciated, but it would be so much better if there was direct access to the kids area from the lot. Service was subpar. Staff weren't rude, but definitely not warm or helpful. No one showed the kids how to put on their boots or gear, and we weren't told helmets were required until my kids were already at the top of the slope, so I had to go all the way back to rentals. Also worth noting: kids 8 and under are restricted to the kids area only (no lifts or bigger slopes), which makes sense, but that wasn't clearly communicated upfront. Overall, the kids still had fun, and for $35, it's worth it. But I would only come back on a discounted day. I wouldn't pay full price for the experience as it currently is.

On top of that once we finally got to the top, and sat down on the tube and started sliding, we got stuck all through out the slope all the way down pushing with our hands, and the kids couldn't even reach with their hand to push themselves down. What a disappointment!!!! Sooo expensive, besides our day was ruined, the kids were so sad and down because of it. I went to the reception to request our refund because we had to leave to try to find another place to go have fun if possible, they said they couldn't do the refund there but to email costumer service. So I did. As soon as we got to the car. The next day they answered and said since the adults area was not optimal they would refund me those tickets even though it was against policy, but the kids they wouldn't as their area was working fine. We didn't even use the kids area, we went to the adults area, all of us!! Besides, we're we supposed to let a couple kids have fun and not the others ?? Also, shouldn't you warn people about it before they purchase the tickets ???? Is this part of their scam ? And the material broken and not operational? A hazard even!!! What a inconsiderate thing to do from their part. Well, I said I wanted the full amount back and explained the situation over and over again, and a couple days later the refund for the adults tickets that she had refunded us, disappeared!!!!! This is my 3rd time here and they have the best Kung Pao Chicken I have ever had. We had a large party of 14, and everything was so good and the service and hospitality of the staff was even better. I myself was not fond of the Kung Pao Shrimp - but others in our party enjoyed it. We ordered many different dishes and the service was top tier. We truly enjoyed our experience at Red Lantern within Thunder Valley. We came back for drinks & some game play after our team building event. We had great interactions with bar tenders & floor staff. Drinks at the bar were very reasonably priced. We also enjoyed our gaming experience - some of us opted for slots where others played table games. We spent a few hours here in the evening. Thunder Valley has multiple other eateries, food court, concert venue (which is great - as I have been in the past), hotel and Bingo Hall.

I like that they have parking directly in front of The Venue as well, so you don't have to hassle with the parking garage (although the actual doors to the concert all are locked so you have to walk out of your way through the main entrance of the casino to walk to your car, so it's a little ways).

I had the BEST fish tacos - beautifully seasoned and topped with a fresh mango salsa. We also loved the fries. Homecut and well spiced. Overall, this is a basic hotel. The room is clean and comfortable, though dated. But the people are what make this place worth staying at. Every single person we encountered was kind, polite, and helpful. They definitely know how to make guests feel welcome and valued.

Wow!!! Echo (new owner) has really made the Sly Park Resort…read moreaka The Knothole (to locals) into an amazing place. The store is fully stocked, the bar has full mixed drinks, beers, and food. The back patio grass area has been replanted, nee stage for bands, horse shoe area, fire place. We had a high school graduation party in the patio area....amazing. The resort BBQ'ed cheeseburgers and fried fries-up...delicious. We set up a award table and candy table. The graduate said everything was perfect. While it's a bit of a distance to the actual venue, it was well worth it for the quiet, calm and very relaxing environment. Beautiful property and I wish I had time to use the pool outside. We stayed in the Bella Vista honeymoon suite. I loved it. It allowed my husband and I to talk. There's a calming and clarifying vibe to the room and the place in general. Spacious, clean, and comfortable. I would stay here again if I was in the area 100%. I think about this place from time to time. I actually miss it!
