We decided to try the studio room as the option was available this time. The same as the previous visit, both employees who were working were extremely nice and accommodating. They gave us our room keys and reminded us of their complimentary drink vouchers. I still like the added security measure that, in order to go up in the elevator, you have to use your room key each time. When we arrived in our room, we were ecstatic. It was very roomy, with a couch that had a pull-out bed, a king-sized bed, a desk, and a sofa with a leg rest. I loved that this room had hardwood floors! We arrived late due to traffic and had to hustle to make the time frame for the drinks. We made it in time, and the gentleman who served us was very nice. We slept very well and were eager to have their continental breakfast again. It was exactly like the previous year, with the food being replenished constantly and the area being cleaned. The hot food options were biscuits (with a gravy option), sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, and French toast sticks. They had cereal, fruit, yogurt, toast, and bagels. There was also a coffee bar and juice options. We indulged and enjoyed our hearty breakfast. The hotel allowed our requested late checkout, so we were able to stroll downtown and enjoy a lazy morning before leaving. We will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future, and may bring the kids with us! From the staff, the cleanliness, the complimentary items, and the reasonable pricing, you cannot go wrong with staying here.

The room was clean and beautiful and we enjoyed the outdoor balcony. We had dinner there and the appetizers and entrees were all so delicious. We had a drink at the bar and also went down to the Speak Easy in the basement and enjoyed a drink there as well. The firepit on the back patio was a nice touch. We enjoyed the free coffee, scones and Frittata in the morning, as well. It's clean and central to many locations in town. The chief complaints I have are these: 1. The walls of the hotel are paper-thin. You can hear *everything* going on outside your door and the rooms next to yours. 2. There are no TVs in any of the rooms. For #1, nothing to be done about it but go in forewarned. For #2, not knowing that was totally our fault. The TV situation is listed on their website. But TVs are such a standard item, who thinks to look for that note..? :P Now. The best part of our hotel stay was Ulina. She was the front desk rep when we got there. She was extremely friendly and very helpful in getting us settled in. She went above and beyond her duties to make sure our 2 night stay (that turned into a 1 night stay due to job issue) was stress free and comfortable. If you stay here in the future, ask for Unlina, you will not be disappointed. :)

Happy vibes here with an outdoor garden area and lots of seating even lounge chairs. In front of each room is also a table and two chairs for dining al fresco. Pretty spot though you hear the traffic going by when outside. Inside the room it is faint. I liked that my room was one level (nobody upstairs). However, I had a neighbor in the next room who got up at 5am and was heavy footed and had a dog. The noise they made traveled into my room. They woke me up and kept me awake way before I planned to get up. Noise level depends on who ends up next to you. Luckily they were not there for my entire stay. The room was just right and I like the way it looked and the covenience of a kitchen with a full size fridge and stove top and microwave. I bring my own pans. I am glad because I didn't like the pans in the room. I appreciated that the fridge didn't make hardly any noise. Less than mini fridges in most hotels!! Bed was comfortable and management was reachable via text message and provided information via texts that was helpful. Beautiful trees on property and I liked that behind my room was left unmowed-good for nature and made it private. I also loved that the windows opened (four windows in the room (on both sides). I'd definitely stay at The Pines Inn again.

Upon first arrival we saw the place had festive Halloween decorations, which I love. Tony immediately came out and greeted us, then directed us to where to park. He then gave us a quick tour of our room, then gave us a tour of the rest of the outside areas. I love how personal Tony was and his genuine enthusiasm in showing his establishment. After we had settled in, we were able to inspect the cottage and it was ideal for two people. Everything was exceptionally clean. The kitchen had utensils, dinnerware, and cookware. The bathroom was also in good condition. The only inconvenience encountered was from my husband (as he is a tall individual) that the toilet area was slightly cramped. We were told that our rooms bed was just upgraded to a king size. Let me tell you, that bed was big and ridiculously comfortable. We both slept so good, we couldn't stop talking about how comfortable it was. As we left for dinner the ambiance of the place was truly enchanting. The beautiful lights created a magical environment, and the canopy with the projector added to the inviting atmosphere. He had kindly opened some wine for us, and we helped ourselves to it upon our return. Tony asked us before he left, what we would like for breakfast. I opted for toasted bagel w/ cream cheese & honey yogurt. My husband asked for avocado toast with fresh fruit. The next morning, he delivered our breakfast to our room. To say we were shocked at how good and fresh everything was, would be an understatement. We certainly plan to visit again in the future. Thank you, Tony, for your wonderful hospitality.

We arrived before check in time and Andrea greeted us with a smile and offered to check us in early. I told her I have sleeping issues and could we be placed in a quiet area with a room. She said she knew the building with rooms 163-170. When we got to the room it was nice and warm, (a problem that we had at The Pines, a small space heater only because the wall unit wasn't working and no maintenance on the property.) We're old and there's good lighting for night time on the exterior. I left the party at 9 PM and stopped by the office for an extra blanket. The two women working were friendly and helpful. The bathroom had a new shower, glass doors and a rain shower head. I always bring my grey slippers for travel. The carpet was very clean and I was so pleased because I'm not used to that. I booked a stay in a suite (separate bedroom) via hotels.com. When I arrived around 9pm on Thanksgiving night, I was informed by hotel staff that a suite was not available, as someone had broken into our room. The police were still onsite, so we were likely just moments from either discovering the intruder in our room or having an attempting break-in while we were in the room. Hotel staff said the door separating this suite from the adjacent suite had been taken off the hinges, and that there were no remaining suites available as a result -- they would have to put us in a single room. Less than ideal, given the sleeping habits of my 4yr old and 2yr old, but I understood the staff had little choice in the matter. It was late and my first priority was getting my little ones to bed, so I accepted the room downgrade quickly and without clarification on a potential refund of the difference in cost. I found it strange that the hotel staff would mention to me that the intruder had claimed to be me, but then I realized that the staff had discovered him in the room and asked him, "are you S___ D___?" A little strange to realize that the last thing the guy heard before police arrived was my name. Still stranger that one of the staff offered me the room with the caveat that there was still "a hole in the wall". The other staff member reminded her that "we're not supposed to do that!". Still, I declined the offer. Our substitute room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and had stains on one of the comforters. It was very late, so my wife and I agreed to postpone any complaints until morning. We just needed to get the kids to sleep. The next morning, I chatted with Hotels.com about the booking discrepancy, and they informed me that the hotel was insisting that we were provided the room we had booked (the suite). I went to the front desk to report our issues, and the employees said they had no authority to adjust costs or issue refunds. I told them that my family would be departing due to the hotel's inability to provide us with the room we booked and due to the condition of the substitute room. The front desk staff told me that I should expect to hear from the manager by noon that day (Friday). I called at 12:10pm, and again around 4pm. I have called twice again since, bringing the total up to four calls. Each time, I am either told that I just missed the manager (Hamid) and I should call back or was told that I was being transferred to the manager, only to have the call go to voicemail. It sure seems like management is avoiding my calls, as I have confirmed multiple times that my contact info has been passed along. I will update the review if I am able to make contact.

The cheddar and chives biscuit was the bomb , excellent sausage gravy on top...... can you say comfort food. My wife has a small appetite so the 1/2 order was more than enough and at 9$ quite a bargain!! Debbie and Alexi were wonderful and gave excellent customer care. Our room was mostly good. There is no comfortable seating in the room however, although it may have just been our room. We had a room in the annex section out back. Leaving our room, we were immediately outside in the weather, which wasn't too big of a deal other than it was storming. Additionally, the shower had not had a decent cleaning in a LONG time. Mildew and mold was growing heartily from the floor to about 3 feet up the wall. A little scrub could easily take care of it. Also, the hooks for the towels are right over the toilet so be very careful that your towel doesn't slip off the hook as mine did, or you'll have a toilet water soaked towel. There is absolutely no coffee in the room so you have to go outside in the storm to get to the coffee which isn't open until after 7. Also we were at the coffee station at 7:50 and the one small pot was already almost gone and the 30 minutes we waited for someone to refill it, no one came. The next HUGE problem is the parking. There are no marked spaces for the hotel so good luck getting a spot until after all businesses are closed. We had to move our car 3 times due to the parking regulations of time.
