Just went through this location around 1:10 PM today. Usually this is my favorite stand to visit, but today I had an unpleasant experience. I received a drink that wasn't what I ordered, and I felt bad to go through and tell them but decided to anyway. I know it can be annoying but I was super polite about it. The girl that had to remake my drink was loudly talking to her coworker, I believe she was training the one who took the drink, next to the window and I could hear it. It was uncomfortable and then I felt bad for the coworker that was getting talked to. I did end up getting the correct drink and it was great. read more

This location will be five stars except a few months ago they changed the traffic pattern and completely destroyed the experience of coming here. I go to this dutch bros every so often, off of owens i think, and the service is great; all the employees are friendly and helpful. However this last time I went, maybe 3-4 days ago, one of the employees was visibly and audibly sick. She had pretty much lost her voice and obviously had a stuffy nose. This is super gross, but I didn't want to be a Karen, so I brought it up to a friend who used to be a manager at dutch bros, and he said that it's often store policy that employees "aren't allowed" to call out, even when they are sick?!?!?!? He went on to tell me that this is pretty normal in the food service industry. Maybe I'm just a crazy karen, but making your sick and likely contagious employees make people's drinks or food all day is SUPER UNSANITARY. I think I'll just stick to making coffee at home, where some sick teenager isn't coughing and sneezing in it because they don't want to lose their job. read more

I would leave 0 stars if I could. Had an awful experience with the staff. Usually they have amazing customer service but completely lacked that. If this location is so worried about cars blocking traffic maybe they need to have a worker who is designated to control that. I truly feel kindness goes a long way, especially how you approach a situation. The girls on this team need some extra training on customer service/how to be kind. I will never return to this location again due to the horrible staff. It was the most awkward and uncomfortable experience I have ever had with Dutch. Yo, I forgot to tip. So I think I can do next best thing is leave a review. I drove in just coming from a hike with my wife and kids. Really didn't want anything but I grab a drink anyway to my surprise it was amazing. They made a mistake and the server asked me that I want to take the one for free anyway. With hesitation, I said sure, and I was very very pleasantly surprised I could make up my mind which one I like better. It was very well blended very well-made, and the flavor was off the chart. Worst Dutch Bros in Salem by far and have had multiple bad experiences here. I ordered a large drink and every sip I took the straw got clogged with nickel size chunks of ice(My drink was supposed to be blended which means ran through a blender so it doesn't have any ice chunks. When I got home I strained my drink and it filled up a full one cup (measuring cup). DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. If I could give them less than one star I would. read more

For the better part of two decades and more, Dutch Brothers has become a household name for drive-thru coffee. One of its many locations is right here along the busy Commercial St in Salem, where the morning commuter lines get long and the service is awesome. The coffee isn't so bad either. Between 7am-10am, the lines of commuters needing their mocha / latte fix can get a little intense but it's generally relaxed for the rest of the day. Knowing your coffee needs ahead of time helps, but the staff is generally really awesome about keeping the recommendations tailored to every consumer pulling up at the window. They manage to keep a smile and are super friendly almost all of the time. Their flavored coffee drinks are immensely popular due to their locally sourced ingredients and homage to Oregon. Oregon Chais, Pacific Soy Milk, and the Dutch Chocolate milk is a very tasty blend indeed. From time to time I appreciate their iced coffees, but their fruit smoothies have been winning me over as of late. While most coffee spots are done-zo by the early evening, I can always appreciate that they are open till 10pm and 11pm on the weekends. read more

I've had less than stellar experiences at this location. I still get coffee here once in a great while because a manager or an assistant manager tries to be helpful. Today, part of my order consisted of two children's "not so hot" chocolates at a specific temperature of 120 degrees. The first drinks came out at 100 degrees and they were supposed to remake them. Instead, a blond braided girl "made them hotter" instead of remaking them and measuring the temperature. As a result, she burned the children's tongues. Adding insult to injury, she bickered with another employee complaining about our order. This is poor customer training and or poor decision of retaining inadequate workers at this location. I've never has this issue in Tigard or Hillsboro. Nate, the assistant manager, was most helpful to us in making sure the second drinks came out well. He gave us a couple of additional free drinks. Sadly, the damage is done. I'm okay with a bad drink that needs some fixing, but burning a child's tongue and acting like you are justified if wrong. read more

I love coffee, I have been here a few times to try their "special" holiday drinks. The first one was the sugar cookie breve. The second one was the snickerdoodle latte. We frequent here a lot. But my son is gluten-free and we specifically come to this location for the oatmeal. We are constantly told that it'll be delivered this Tuesday it'll be delivered this day it'll be delivered that day. So we keep coming back and they never have the oatmeal. My first time here and what a surprise. My fiance and I stopped in never having been here before and the staff was just super friendly and helpful. Chris got a dirty chi and I opted for their energy drink. I had no clue to which flavor so the guy working made me his favorite, raspberry and blackberry. It was super yummy. We also got two muffin tops chocolate and poppy seed. What stood out the most is that they paid for our drink! Due to it being our first visit. That would have never happened in California.
