La Souq is located in the heart of Richardson right on Main Street. I especially love the neutral earthy tones of the interior, blending timelessly and giving an elegant and airy, open vibe to the entire space. If I lived in Dallas i would be here every weekend with my laptop. The cashiers are always super kind and friendly, always greeting you with a smile. I haven't tried any of their baked goods because I am religiously a matcha girly through and through. The matchas I've gotten here have been pretty good for the most part but the quality does vary slightly depending on who is making them. The vanilla matcha had no sweetness to it whatsoever which was very odd. Same goes for the fig matcha, the syrup was just not cutting it in flavor and the whole drink felt very milk heavy. I always ask for an extra shot of matcha and they just two times my drink just wasn't made strong enough. However, this past weekend I finally got my wish with the strawberry matcha which was made very very well and I was blessed with the extra matcha just as I like it. I think they should definitely work on standardizing drink consistency and quality to keep repeat patrons happy. Despite having at least 10 to 15 people in front of us, the line moved pretty quickly. My friend who was more of a regular at the shop knew a lot of the staff and had convos with them. It feels like a little community! I ordered the Maple Sausage Croissant sourced from Sugar Loaf Bakery along with a hot Purple Haze latte made with lavender and vanilla syrup. My drink came out fairly quickly, and I thought it was great. It was well balanced and not overly sweet. As for the Maple Sausage Croissant, it was exactly what it sounded like, a maple sausage tucked into a croissant. I initially expected the croissant itself to be maple flavored, similar to a McGriddle, but it was still fresh and enjoyable. They had been keeping them warm in a heater throughout the morning, which definitely helped. I have stopped by 1418 Coffee a few times when visiting Dallas, and I plan to keep returning. I also tried the beez neez (latte with honey and cinammon) another time and enjoyed it! They offer 2% milk, which I don't always find at coffee shops.
