I always get a little envious of how every suburb of Dallas seems to have such a cool town square,…read moreand Plano is no different. Located among the shops and bars of historic downtown sits 1418 Coffee, a cute and genuinely great little shop that fits the area perfectly. Inside, the shop is fairly narrow but offers a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. I arrived with a friend a little before 11 am on a Sunday, and it was absolutely packed. A biking group was posted up outside, students were inside working on homework, even though most colleges have not started yet, and plenty of other patrons were taking their Sunday mornings easy. Despite having at least 10 to 15 people in front of us, the line moved pretty quickly. My friend who was more of a regular at the shop knew a lot of the staff and had convos with them. It feels like a little community! I ordered the Maple Sausage Croissant sourced from Sugar Loaf Bakery along with a hot Purple Haze latte made with lavender and vanilla syrup. My drink came out fairly quickly, and I thought it was great. It was well balanced and not overly sweet. As for the Maple Sausage Croissant, it was exactly what it sounded like, a maple sausage tucked into a croissant. I initially expected the croissant itself to be maple flavored, similar to a McGriddle, but it was still fresh and enjoyable. They had been keeping them warm in a heater throughout the morning, which definitely helped. I have stopped by 1418 Coffee a few times when visiting Dallas, and I plan to keep returning. They consistently do a great job and fit right into the charm of downtown Plano. RIYL: A warm haven in a beautiful downtown.

Hands down love 1418 Coffee even after only three visits! I'm working in Plano this month and…read moreneeded to find a good caffeine stop after my long commute from Fort Worth. The baristas are all super friendly and were happy to answer all my questions. It's also super cozy with dim lighting, and the music isn't super overpowering or loud. There's mostly comfy couches but also a few tables and high top seating. Just a little chilly, so I'd recommend bringing a jacket. I was able to comfortably complete some work on my laptop, with working wifi. There were also people here socializing in the morning. They no longer serve breakfast tacos, so I opted for a bacon cheddar scone at one visit and a lemon blueberry scone on another. They were both delicious! The baristas told me that their chai leans toward the sweeter side versus the spicier side, so I opted for an iced sugar-free vanilla latte, which was not overly sweet. I also tried the beez neez (latte with honey and cinammon) another time and enjoyed it! They offer 2% milk, which I don't always find at coffee shops. Since it's in downtown Plano, there's street parking, which wasn't difficult for me since I came at 8 AM. I believe there are parking garages located nearby. Overall, I've greatly enjoyed 1418 Coffee and will most definitely be visiting more throughout this month while I'm working in the area!

They are completely donation based. It's not that crowded because I don't think too many people know about it, but there are plenty of tables. They also have plant decorations which gives nice vibes to the place. SERVICE Service is great! The guy who helped me and made my drink, Noah is super friendly! Gave a great recommendation of the matcha. He made the matcha well and offered that if it didn't taste good, he wouldn't make it again free of charge. Just a very personable guy and so so sweet. Brightened my day!

There were several other customers enjoying the peaceful music and tranquil atmosphere. There is WiFi available for the laptop warriors to use for work or study . The shop was clean and tidy. The bathrooms were neat as a pin. I enjoy supporting businesses that are locally owned and managed and I was happy to spend my time and money here. I was so excited to see an easy place to pop in and grab some boba near my friend's house when I visited her in Richardson. :) I dropped by fairly late in the afternoon (maybe 4ish) last Saturday. I entered a beautiful, fun, bright purple shop, with lots of adorable decor and fun accents. Despite it being pretty quiet business-wise, I was immediately greeted by two friendly and upbeat employees. Maybe it was all the purple decorations, but I was feeling adventurous and like I wanted to try something new, so I asked about the taro milk tea (Thai tea is usually my go-to, especially on a first visit). The employees described the flavor to me and then, to my shock and joy, offered to let me sample it! Maybe I just need to ask in the future, but in my experience, samples are a little hard to come by at shops like this. I very gratefully accepted and found that I quite liked it! Still, I'm so glad it was offered to me -- not much worse of a foodie experience than ordering something new and not liking it! Fantastic service! Thank you so much :) With that established, I ordered a medium size taro milk tea with boba. It comes in the kind of cup where you punch the straw through the thin cover on top. That's always fun. The drink was moderately sweet, with a faintly coconut-y type flavor. The boba also had a pleasant taste, though for me they were just a little too soft. Overall, an excellent experience in a cute shop with wonderful staff! I'll definitely come back next time I visit my friend in Richardson.
