Their hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and I definitely should not have cut it that close. Even so, Larry--who I believe is the owner--treated me like a long-lost brother. He never made me feel rushed or unwelcome and took excellent care of me. I ordered the Club Salad, and it was so good my mouth is watering just thinking about it. This was my very first visit and my first time even knowing this place existed, but Larry is my guy now. Outstanding food, outstanding service, and easily the best deli in Texas.

Everything but the bagel bagel with jalapeno cream cheese (8/10): bagel had a nice chew but I personally like mine a little fluffier and crispier. The cream cheese was amazing...thick, spicy, & filled with fresh chopped jalapeños!! Service was great, everyone was so nice! Love that it's Vietnamese owned. Cut into it and that runny yolk pours right over the warm corned beef, adding an extra layer of rich, creamy goodness. Messy in exactly the right way. We also had the liver pâté and egg salad, along with the classic pickles and crunchy bagel chips. Everything tasted fresh, generous, and exactly like a great old-school deli meal should. There are plenty of places to get a sandwich in Dallas, but when it comes to this kind of deli food, Deli News is hard to beat. Great portions, great flavors, and food that makes you want to come back before you've even finished lunch. That corned beef, egg, and runny yolk combination alone is worth the trip. Cannot beat it anywhere in Dallas.

First, the spot is actually really cozy and has a well-maintained neighborhood vibe. It's self-seating so we picked a spot near the huge flatscreen so we could also watch a little television. Service was friendly and attentive. The menu is HUGE, so maybe study it a bit to cut down on decision fatigue. I was initially torn between a breakfast plate and the cheese blintzes. I figured, why not go with the blintzes, because you don't really see as an option much these days. I also got a side of cherry compote and orange juice. The orange juice was nice and pulpy. As for the cheese blintzes and the cherry compote- I think I could've done without it- it made it too sweet. But, it was served in the side, so iI just didn't eat much of it. The blintzes themselves were very good and definitely had a very gratifying texture. Slightly sweet on their own, but not too much. My husband had the franks and beans. I didn't try them, but I did snag a French fry and it was very good- golden and perfectly crispy with a piping hot soft center. Prices were a bit steep, but this is a neighborhood restaurant and iI think it's always good to support locally when you can. Goodness knows, prices for goods is high and labor is not cheap. Overall, I would definitely consider coming here again, but this time I would like to try one of their breakfast plates to get a better baseline.
