They worked hard and did a good job. They completed many tasks adjacent to what I had asked for in the remodel. Overall I am very pleased with the work they did and I would use them again. Unfortunately we still have leaks in some areas but we are going to cut our losses and try to address these with a different contractor in the future. I will say, the actual construction workers contracted by DBR, were respectful, hard working, and did a great job (although they were sometimes not directed correctly by DBR...) hence the 2 stars! He even tried to discredit me by claiming I was yelling at his crew, despite the fact that I have video and audio recordings of him yelling and using profanity at me while I maintained politeness. I was left scrambling with tenants displaced in a hotel while he abandoned the work. Save yourself the stress and money--look elsewhere.

After that, gave them another try to remodel our master bathroom. Met over Zoom June of 2022, met in person later that month, we were ready to sign a contract that day if they had one, but we waited, and waited, and waited. Reached out in early July, then again in late July, told in early August that they'll have the bid for me shortly. Never heard from them again. Decided to try one more time this year for a siding project. Filled out their online form, was called by someone and reached back out mid-June and never heard back. I really don't mind if a company doesn't want to do business with a particular customer, just let me know so I don't spend time trying to reach out and spin my wheels. The ghosting is really unprofessional.

We had Siding and Windows Group come out among a batch of 4 other companies for a roof and siding…read morereplacement after last August's hail damage. Here's how they stood out: They had excellent communication. From Angelo's estimate all the way to passing inspection, they were on top of their game. The estimate had every combination of options listed with exactly what they were going to do and photos of the planned work. We were assigned a field supervisor (Justin, I believe?) who would come out on the same day to inspect any issues we brought up. Our contact with the office via Cindy and Anthony was also superb and always timely. The work was done swiftly and well. The roofers were done before I got back from work. Siding and gutters are more involved, but they did excellent there as well and Roman et al. were excellent to work with, took feedback very well (see communication above), and were very hard and efficient workers. All in all, we were done with our project long before other houses in the same subdivision who had all signed up with doorknocker companies, and they delivered a high level of quality. To be clear, their estimate was slightly higher (my gut says 10% higher, but it's been a while since I reviewed the proposals) than some other offers we received, but for the work that we were doing, level of customization, and communication, we wouldn't make a different choice. I'm usually not one to spend time getting a bunch of quotes and just rely on Yelp reviews to make a purchasing decision, but this was pricey enough purchase that i figured I should do my due diligence.' Siding & Windows Group was one of the 4 companies I had come out for a quote. We ended up with them for a few reasons: - Their quote was competitive - They were able to spray paint the interior trim with our existing paint color - They were able to match the exterior trim as closely as possible to our windows outside - Anthony at Siding & Windows Group was very responsive We placed the order on August 22nd, which is my bday. I can't say new doors was what i wanted for my bday, but i guess this is being a homeowner in your 40s. The new doors weren't installed until November 6th and we just hoped for no big storms and got lucky. Anthony checked in a few times on when they'd be installed and pushed it back a few days due to other projects. The actual installation took about a day, which wasn't too bad. A week later they came to spray paint, which honestly seemed like a much bigger project than installing the doors. That took 2 days and went smoothly, although there was a little confusion about them not knowing what color to paint, etc. It turned out beautifully and while the doors look very similar to our old doors I like the look of these even better. The exterior finish isn't a perfect match, but i think a big part of that is our old paint on our windows as faded. One day we'll touch it all up, but for now we're looking forward to a break in paying for anything for the house. I learned there are a lot of companies in the area for new windows/doors, but we were satisfied with this one and would use them again.

We hired Chicagoland Builders to install Hardie Board siding and new gutters, as well as replace…read morethe soffit and fascia on our home. From the beginning, Mike, the owner, was very friendly and assured us that his company was honest, reliable, and committed to providing quality work. Unfortunately, our overall experience has not lived up to those expectations. Throughout the project, we experienced repeated scheduling delays, and once the work finally began, it took several weeks to complete. Afterward, we also had to repeatedly follow up to have leftover materials removed and the job site properly cleaned. Mike was dealing with a personal injury at the time and was unable to come out and inspect the completed work himself, which we understood. I will give credit where it is due--the siding itself looks very nice. However, the delays, lack of follow-through, and condition in which the property was left made an already large home improvement project much more stressful than it needed to be. Unfortunately, we have now discovered a much more serious concern. The work was completed in February, and as the weather became warmer, we noticed that the second floor of our home was becoming extremely hot. Upon further inspection, we discovered that when the new soffit was installed, the existing attic ventilation openings in the soffit appear to have been covered. Since discovering this issue, we have also found mold in our attic. Naturally, we are extremely concerned about the lack of proper attic ventilation and the potential damage this may be causing to our home. We contacted Mike and Chicagoland Builders and have asked them to come out and address the issue. Unfortunately, instead of receiving a clear plan for correcting it, we feel we have been getting the runaround. Mike has repeatedly referred to the crew that performed the installation, but from our perspective, Chicagoland Builders is the company we hired and entrusted with our home. Regardless of which crew performed the work, we believe the company should stand behind the completed job and address any problems resulting from the installation. We are not asking for anything unreasonable. We simply want Chicagoland Builders to come back, inspect the soffit installation, restore the necessary attic ventilation, and correct any installation issues for which they are responsible. We would much rather be able to update this review and say that Chicagoland Builders stood behind its work and made things right. At this point, however, I would caution anyone considering Chicagoland Builders to make sure they carefully inspect the completed work, particularly soffit and attic ventilation, and confirm that everything has been installed properly before considering the job complete. Mike and Chicagoland Builders, we are asking you to please stand behind your work and help us resolve this immediately. We trusted your company with our home and paid for the work with the expectation that it would be completed properly. We are simply asking that someone come out immediately, inspect the issue, and make the necessary corrections. We sincerely hope you will do the right thing so this matter can be resolved.
