Overall: untrained staff, unsanitary practices, poor quality of services I called the main line requesting a quote for a lash lift. I normally go to Laveda but they didn't have any appointments and I needed my lashes lifted. Given the price, I decided to check it out. Originally I requested an appointment at 14th St but was told no one was available and to go to Dupont. So I went completely forgetting that I had been to that location before for threading and had a terrible experience. Well, I get to my appointment only to have to wait to get serviced. The woman who did my lash lift didn't even know I was there for that service. She struggled to apply the materials to my eyelashes and left a gluey all over my lashes. She proceeded to use her dirty hands to rub my eyelashes and remove the glue. Effectively undoing the lash lift there. Then she used a brush to take off the glue but couldn't because there was so much and it was hard glued to my lashes. She kept hurting me and was not gentle to the lashes. She pulled some out. I finally was able to open an eye grabbed a mirror and saw what I had been describing. I requested water and a qtip but she refused to give it to me. I explained that there was no way to take this off without water. It wasn't until I spoke to the manger that she gave me water and i took some of the glue off. Enough to go back home where I washed my face several times to take it off. I was so upset about my lashes that I hadn't noticed the poor job she did on my eyebrows. She made them thin at the ends and trimmed them way too much. I will never go back. The manager was at least understanding but she should never allow inexperienced people do work they aren't trained in. They also pressure you to venmo them a payment instead of paying at the cashier. I don't trust this practice and would recommend you look elsewhere for any service offered here. read more

I had a Brazilian here. I found this place on Yelp and read reviews. There was only one person there who was threading. She was busy as expected because everyone was popping in after work so I waited and little. The wax was quick and efficient and clean. She made me feel comfortable and was honest about the wait time due to walk in clients which I appreciated. I'm glad she was able to squeeze me in right before my vacation. read more

I go in maybe once every few months for an eyebrow threading. I walk right in and they see me right away (no appt needed). Takes about 5 minutes and I look so great every time! I've been burned before from locations with uneven eyebrows but NEVER here! They are efficient, kind and well priced. Highly recommend. read more

I went for a sugar wax at the recommendation of a friend and then the owner kindly suggested I try cocoa wax, which is better for preventing ingrowns. I am super happy with my results!! Honestly... I knew better than to come here again. She didn't ask any questions before starting my eyebrows so I stopped her to say.. I just wanted them cleaned up. Still blows through the session to the point it was kind of painful. I should've told her to stop there but again my fault that I didn't... they are not even but also very skinny. She says that if she fixes them that it wouldn't look right. However, they needed to be fixed, as was arched and the other round. She fixes them and I legit have a bald spot because she took too much the wrong line!! Well anyways she argued with me and I just had to charge it to the game because I did it to myself. I don't know how it took me so long to hear about this place because when I moved to DC from NYC I looked in vain for desi threading/ waxing places and never found one i liked, like the ones they have in New York, well that search is officially over! Dupont Threading is great! Natasha is a super sweet and skilled woman! I normally wax my eyebrows because threading hurts me too much and she was like "let me thread it, and if it hurts then we can wax them" Well, color me surprised when her threading was the least painful I have ever experienced and my eyebrows looked amazing. They also have waxing and sugaring services which are fast, efficient and perfect at an amazingly reasonable price point. Last but not least, they offer henna and facial services, i havent tried them out, but this place is so much more than just threading! It's very easy to find on the south side of dupont and open late (i think it closes at 8 or 8:30), so its a perfect post-work place to stop for some self care. read more

I've been going to DuPont threading for 4 years and truly is a local gem that has saved many people (myself included) from last minute unruly brows. Today was my first time visiting during COVID with a friend of mine (much needed brow maintenance tbh) and I had a great experience. My brows came out perfectly and I couldn't have asked for better results. Aside from that, the price has stayed consistent over the past years which keeps me coming back. The customer service was great and there are strict measures in place to protect the establishment and customers from contracting Covid. Quick, clean, and reasonably priced. I absolutely love the way my brows look after coming here. I have really thick eyebrows and like to keep the thickness and shape, which I find hard to do with traditional waxing. DuPont threading has been my go-to to fix me up. It usually lasts a couple of weeks and I maintain them with tweezing. Something to note - you have to walk down some steps to reach the place. Reliable, they always seat me immediately and do exactly what I ask for (no shape, just clean up). The prices are decent and the staff are nice enough. With that said, I really question the cleanliness of this establishment. The last time I went, there was hair all over my chair and it smelled like a toilet was leaking something awful somewhere in the shop. The staffer who did my brows was also coughing a lot under her mask and sounded highly congested. This place was great. I went in last minute after work and they took me since it was like 20 minutes to closing. I was super grateful. What impressed me though is that the person who did my brows, Natasha, (she may be the owner, I think she is) delivered exactly what I wanted. As a dude the people who thread usually don't like to go too thin for me (which idk why because my face looks better with thinner brows) and I love a sharp brow so the fact that she was totally cool with delivering what I asked for without any push back was very refreshing. I'm really motivated to try some of their other services such as the eyelash/ brow tinting because I don't trust just anyone with that kind of service and I honestly feel that I won't be disappointed. Natasha explained the steps/procedure which was really awesome. I also asked about the mint facial and want to go back to try that because it sounds invigorating and refreshing. Overall I feel like I can trust these people with my brows. I feel comfortable there and I just really pleased with the service. I've recommended this spot to two other people and they were happy too. The only thing is I will say make sure you map it correctly because I got a little turned around thinking I knew where it was and although I was only a block up I still wish I would have looked at the map better. I came in for a lash curl, a lash laminate, a brow laminate, and tint for a event. My eyelashes are short and I wasn't expecting wonders just that they looked curled up close - which I was happy about my results do my eyelashes. What made me extremely unhappy was that she threaded my eyebrows into two different shapes. They didn't even look similar - one was arched and the other was not. When I commented after the service that my brows looked as if they were not the same shape. She tried to assure me that When I washed my face the next day that my brows would be similar.
