Today we met with this store's personal color advisor (PCA) Erika to choose exterior house colors. We had set up a meeting ahead of time and brought in photos of our house and had narrowed our choices down to a group of colors. Erika listened to our requests and gave us several options of body colors, trim colors and accent colors to take home and evaluate. She was very considerate of what was a fresher, more modern color palette and we walked away with a handful of samples and a sheet with gloss recommendation guide. What a wonderful store. I needed help buying paint for the exterior of my home yesterday, I wanted the same Dunn Edward's paint I used 20 years ago. I was helped by a young gentleman named Jesus, a true professional. He knew exactly what I needed, showed tremendous patience with me and was very knowledgeable about their products. My 20 year old paint job has stood the test of time , so I and sticking with the same color and paint. Love this local neighborhood store. Products are pricey but top quality and moreover, the hours ( and 7 day a week availability) are convenient and service is excellent. Well worth the price! The Glendale store offers complimentary color consultation. Erika heads this department and is spectacular. She has a keen eye, is a great listener, patient- truly talented! My home project began here because I thought they'd be better quality paints. I was using a flat, interior, white. Unfortunately it was SO hard to smoothly apply the paint without roller marks or patchy un even distribution. After covering the entire main living areas with 3-4 coats., I was spent. I tried a Lowe's paint brand for the bedrooms. Much easier!!! I guess there's a reason the contractors prefer these brands (not only b/cthey're cheaper) Though, I did switch to a satin finish for bedrooms. Every time I've come here, I've walked away with discounted paint prices ("Friends and Family" offer), no matter the size bucket I purchase. Just today I ordered 3 sample blue color paints to try on my living room wall; after paying and waiting for the samples, the cashier came over to tell me that 2 of the 3 paints weren't made in the sample size and would I consider the quart size? I told her I wasn't ready to commit to purchasing quarts. She went back to check, and then offered me the quarts at no extra cost -- WOW! I told her I really appreciated this, and walked away a happy customer. I've had nothing but really exceptional customer service here. I'm just a regular house-holder and not a pro painter or contractor, but I'm enthusiastic when it comes to painting my interiors. One star off because they are sooooooo slooooooowwwww. it's like watching paint dry no pun intended. Call your order ahead with a credit card and then go whenever they say it will be ready, its like that express pass at Disneyland where you will still wait but not forever. Also, definitely ask them for advice because they are knowledgable but take it with a grain of salt and get second opinions from real painters. As I'm here sitting down in the paint store, I've been here for already an 1 hr and 45 mins. Came in to do a favor for my co worker to get some paint that he bought about a year ago to get it color matched so he can paint some more walls in his home. This is beyond ridiculous it shouldn't take this long to get paint color matched. I should've just gone to Home Depot instead. And the rep that helped me out hasn't bother to tell me what's going on. I had to go to the back myself to check what's going on and there's only 1 guy back there doing all the work himself. This place is really understaffed. She has impressed me with her color knowledge and definitely has an eye for it. Anneline asked me for the name of the color I had used on the exterior of my home. I couldn't remember but I told her that if she gave me the name, I would recognize it. She google my address to find the picture. She immediately said she thought it was Northgate Green. I was so impressed! That was the one! She nailed it. Who does that! Now that we got that out of the way, she helped me pick out a color for my exterior doors. I have been coming to this location for the last 4 years! I am a local painting contractor and always come here as my go to for paint and supplies. I come here not only because its nearby but because of the staff that i have gotten to know personally over the years. Vahe is one of my main guys that no matter what always takes care of me and my crew. Just a very good man very honest to me, caring and kind. Some staff have moved to other locations and that makes me sad but no matter what they know my reputation as a contractor and everyone is always greeting and laughing with me. I dont understand these other bad reviews but paint stores get busy busy busy.. of course I wait for my material to get ready but i expect that going into a paint store and talk to the staff and sometimes will go next door to 7-11 and get some of the staff and myself some gatorade or snacks.. they always work hard for me and my company which makes it better for my customers and its always worth the wait for quality paints to be matched, mixed properly. read more
