Tl:dr - if you are a noob when it comes to paint go to Home Depot/Lowe's. If you have to come here - Avoid the manager. The other sales associates are great. I went to this store to buy some interior paint. I know very little about paint but I came in with the label of the paint we just ran out to find something similar. The manager was extremely condescending and borderline offensive and what help she could offer had to be selected out of all the unhelpful comments she had to say. As she (the manager) spoke to other customers on the phone it is evident she is knowledgeable about paint. Would have appreciated if she heard me out first and what my needs were and then helped me solve the problem. Luckily, there was another sales associate present, JESUS. I went over to him and explained my situation - he looked at the inventory and found a few possible solutions. After hearing me out he recommended what would be best for bathroom interior paint. JESUS demonstrated excellent communication and customer service skills and helped turn a nasty encounter with the manager into at least a successful purchase of overpriced paint that met my need. The store is clean, well maintained, and fully stocked with everything you could need to do a paint job. They also have a coffee bar. Plenty of free parking shared in the business center. Everybody at this store from James to Ana are absolutely helpful but one of my main reasons for coming back here is the manager Bryan valadez. Came into this store a few days ago with my child and felt extremely unwelcomed. No one greeted us or acknowledged our presence, even after minutes of browsing the color card samples. Finally stood in front of the service desk and I still had to flag someone for their attention as they all kept their faces down looking at their computer or something. Finally some guy who was on the phone put his call on hold and asked me if I need help. Uhmmm really? He tells someone else to help me but let out a little laugh, like "sorry you're it." I tell this guy I'm looking for samples and they tell me they have not had any for months because of the pandemic. Fine, I asked to instead buy the smallest can so my trip wouldn't be such a waste of time but was then told they still didn't have the right type of paint needed for the colors I wanted samples for. I said too bad because my whole house is getting painted inside and out and I wanted to choose their brand bec I've heard good things about them, but I guess I'll have to tell my contractor to go with a different brand. Demeanor suddenly changed to much nicer, and they said no worries, if I were buying gallon size or bigger, they'll have them. So what I got out of that is that they're not interested in helping regular folks coming in for small projects. Honestly they lost my business the minute they ignored me and my daughter when we entered their store. Even my six year old knew that not saying hello when we entered was rude and her exact words to me were "how come they didn't say hi to us mom? They don't have very good manners." Way to go! If you have a huge order with a LOT of different colors then make sure they mixed everything and make sure it's all there. Last time I was in they got a bit overwhelmed with my order and I didn't realize that some paint was missing until I got to the job and realized it was missing. I had to go in again to get the rest of my order and hope my painters were staying on task while I was gone! Time is money and i didn't appreciate having to waste mine. Plus side is they have stores everywhere. You can find one relatively close to you. If your a contractor with a commercial account, they will deliver. read more

The paint quality is great however the customer service at this location leaves to be desired. Both times I've been in this location the sales girls are more concerned with what they are doing: ie: chatting, rearranging the store, organizing etc. each time I have felt like being helped was a hassle and after thought. Additionally when I have expressed that I don't want an account at the store they have repeatedly made it seem like I have to have an account even though you DO NOT need an account here. I don't want to give out my personal information just to buy 2 gallons of paint. It's unnecessary and rude to be hassled about it. The paint here is expensive and I should get better service here than places like Walmart or Home Depot. That has absolutely not been my experience. The paint is 5 Stars, the service is 2.5 Stars...hence the 3 star review. read more

Sherwin Williams paint is wayyy superior to Home Depot. I can't believe I used to blindly shop for paint at the big box stores. I bought Sherwin Williams pure reflective white paint and painted my walls and ceiling in satin and wow the quality is visible the minute you paint the walls. It goes on easy, doesn't peel as Behr paint does and it also doesn't spill or splatter when I use my roller. Truly a superior product and with my membership, it costs cheaper too. Has anyone noticed how expensive everything is at the big box stores? I wish I had come to this store before. They also have reflective roof paint for flat roofs. Perfect summer project! I contacted this store to find out if they had N95 mask. Like everywhere else they were out of stock. This is not my problem or issue. This morning at 09:00 I called this location checking on these precious items. They said that they were expecting a shipment but didn't know when they were going to arrive. Here is my issue. They said that they were going to sell to contractors only and if there were any left over then they would put them out for the general public. I stated that I'm an emergency room nurse and we are trying to get supplies on our own because the hospital is strained with lack of the supplies being delivered. WOW contractors before HEALTHCARE professionals. I would have never thought. But when they or their family members come to the hospital because they are sick, they are going to expect services. Well I'm hear to tell you that approximately 10% of the people getting the COVID-19 virus is healthcare workers taking care of these patients. So when you come to the hospital be patient because we are human too. We are in the battlefield shedding out blood, sweat and tears. Expected to take care of the sick and dying but when we are in need of a lifesaving intervention, contractors are more important!!!! Please DO NOT buy from this organization. They don't care about mankind, only contractors. Let the contractors come take care of the sick patients expected to inundate the hospital's in the near future. I hope and pray that California stays healthy and doesn't need hospital services. We are there for everyone. The sad part is this organization cares about the all mighty dollar and not people's lives. Take care, wash your hands and continue social distancing. read more

Absolutely shocking, unprofessional and outright disgusting service. There needs to be a negative or at least zero star rating option. On December 12, 2020 at approximately 4:30pm, we entered this store located on 1000 E Colorado St, Glendale CA and approached an older woman with short hair and glasses. She responded to us in a rude and abrasive tone. We ask if we could get a color fan book given that my partner is a contractor with an account. She claimed that they "don't have anymore." She then oddly asks if we "would like to buy one?" (after she just said, they don't have anymore). We replied, "if you're contractor, shouldn't those be free?" She then said "Yes, but you need to have an account," my partner replied, "I do have one." However, she ignores that, by never once asking for his account number and then again asks us again if we "would like to buy one for $14.50?" We replied, "I thought you said you don't have anymore" and she then agrees and says, "Yes I told you that." (HUH???) So we decided to head to the swatches section and pick out colors. Then a twenty something year old Hispanic female with long straight hair approaches us to tell us "they are closing in 10 minutes and ask if we are buying anything because they are going to close the register." We said, "no, not at this time." We continued to look at the colors and she just stayed there to watch us by very slowing putting things away. She then said to us, "you can only take 1, 2, or 3 color samples however you can keep what is in your hand but you can not take anymore because of COVID." We said how does COVID have anything to do what that?" She claimed that "when people touch them and put them back" it's an issue for them. We explained, "we never put any back and we are taking what we touch." She then insists that we can not take any more swatches. She said they can not have people "take stacks of the same colors." We explained to her that we were "only taking 1 of each color that we choose" and then we asked her again, "how does this have to do with COVID?" We naturally became upset in how she was treating us expecting us to literally take 1, 2, or 3 swatches. Then the older lady with glasses came over and I repeated the younger girl's ridiculous comment to her, that we told we were only allowed to take 1, 2, or 3 swatches." She then backs her up pointing to a sign above the swatches that say "Choose Color with Confidence etc (see pic of the sign below)" and tells us "You are only allowed to take 10." We read the sign and said, "where does it say we can only take 10?" She started to raise her voice because we called them out for their made-up policy and then shockingly, she asks us to "leave the store and claimed that we were harassing the hispanic girl." We replied, it was in fact they who were harassing us while we picking out colors and that they were trying to regulate exactly how many color samples we were allowed to take. She then threated to called "9-1-1." We said "go ahead, they will see how ridiculous she is given that we are doing nothing wrong." We asked for their names and they refused to give their names. Instead, the woman with glasses asked for my partner's "account information so she could ban him." She then screamed stomping her foot to the ground with a closed fist, "get the fuck out of here" at least 2 times and then later telling us "I refuse service to you." As soon as I said to my partner, get your phone out so we can record this, she immediately ran off to the back of her store to hide. The Hispanic girl also left to hide behind shelves on the other side of the store. Clearly these women hid to avoid the repercussions of their actions. We ask that the store manager, regional manager and corporate please review their store surveillance tapes and investigate this matter. I hope there is a zero-tolerance policy against employees treating customers this way. This was truly outrageous and very shocking. No company should ever have people behaving like this to their customers, making up false policies, screaming and cursing at us to leave the store, demanding we give our account information to ban us, and threatening to call the police all because we called them out on their false policies with how many swatches we were allowed to take. read more

Yesterday, the district manager gave me a personal call to apologize for the store not being open and said their website (and Yelp) listed their hours incorrectly. He wanted to send me something as an apology, but I told him I didn't need anything and I appreciated the call. I'm looking for three paint samples to figure out which color will look best for a small bedroom and was told because of the pandemic there are no sample paint containers available, that it's been an issue for the past year. Now you charge $20 per quart to sample colors instead? Sorry, that has to be a joke, you can mix any other size container but sample size?? I'm heading over to Catalina Paints/Benjamin Moore where the customer service has been amazing and they even send me coupons for FREE pint-size color samples every month. read more

We called 5 times spoke to Ana and other representatives and all they would say that it is out of stock and we have to wait till the manufacture will "make it" . I mean really? I think that the Sherwin-Williams paint is a superior product. However, the customer service at their store on Hornblend in Pacific Beach is very poor. I went to get paint thinner and was told that lacquer thinner was the same thing. My painter did not agree. I had to go to Home Depot to get the thinner and then had to return the lacquer thinner to the store on Hornblend and wait in lines both times. This careless error on the clerk's part cost me the better part of 3 hours. This is not the first time the employees at Hornblend have misinformed me. I plan to switch to a different store. read more

I ordered all my paint from here. I also ordered some wallpaper from here but there was a mess-up with my order (through the manufacturer). I worked with Anna to get this resolved. She took charge of the situation, called the manufacturer and got it all taken care of. Her customer service was excellent and she got it all fixed for me. I had a good experience. My wallpaper guy asked for this special primer we need before the wallpaper is installed and he said Sherwin William paint store have it. I came here and asked for it they did carry the one gallon buckets but I need 5 gallon bucket. The guy who was helping me did not want to putt in the effort to call other stores and see what they have so I ended up calling my wallpaper guy and just getting it from the store he uses all the time. I just wonder how the management trains this guys to just say whatever they feel like or at least try to help their costumers. read more

Came in to pick up two quarts of paint. The sales representative read is the riot act on how fantastic the "Resilience" paint was. We thought it was a good deal as well and purchased. Then hours later, we realized that we were actually given a completely different product (interior paint vs exterior). My husband contacted the store and asked if they'd exchange the product for the product that we need to paint our exterior window trim and doors. The manager said to come in and they'd be happy to return. Great! I come on in and do the exchange. The assistant manager said they could not do the exchange without the card it was purchased on. One important detail they failed to mention. The asst mgr was happy to send me on my way home and return with the physical card. Thank god for Andy, the helpful sales assistant that did a little research and figured out how to exchange without the card. The balance was $1.12 and I was happy to pay. At the end, from my first initial visits to Sherwins Williams - Glendale, to my returning visit for the exchange, it's was an unpleasant experience. The employees seem miserable, do not say hello and are not helpful at all. I will not be returning. I should have just gone to Home Depot and save a few dollars. read more

The employees at this location, especially the elderly Asian woman, Sharon, have horrible customer service and should be trained on how to talk to paying customers. I'm repainting my business and have bought over $1000 worth of paint in the past two weeks; so I came to the store trying to purchase more paint and supplies to which I was refused service. They told me to go away and closed the door on my face after standing outside for 10 minutes. I've been on hold with corporate for 45 minutes and have yet to speak to someone about this incident. We've had an excellent experience at this store. A quick history - I've used Benjamin Moore paint in the past, and loved its colors and the color examples in its print materials. However, my good friend that had recommended Ben Moore in the first place told me about a then-current sale at Sherwin Williams, and said they were the same quality as Ben, I should check them out. We have sold our townhouse and have bought a new house, and since we wanted to give everything a fresh coat of paint, a sale sounded good - we need a lot of paint. I called Sherwin Williams in Glendale and talked to George, he was very helpful, and said I could reserve cans of paint at the sale price and choose the colors later. I planned on thinking on the colors and would call back. Enter in moving h@ll and 2 kids and the work day and I forgot to call until after the store closed. Deeply sore to have missed the chance to buy paint at 40% off (a solid discount), I found the "contact us" page on the main Sherwin Williams website and wrote a letter saying all this and asking if there was any way the sale could be extended for me for another day. The district manager wrote me and said yes, they could extend it to me for another week - they'd love the opportunity to earn my business. Joy!! And what a stress relief. So then I started working with Ana, Christina, and George at the Glendale store. They have been so willing to work with me as my husband and I took time to map out all the colors for our house. They made sure we were buying the right paint to meet all of our needs. Ana in particular has been our point person, and has been warm, professional, and so helpful. On more than one occasion when we've driven away from the store, my husband commented on how nice it is to receive such high-quality customer service. The paint itself (the whole point, right??) looks absolutely gorgeous on the walls. We're very happy with the colors. Sherwin Williams also has some great ideas in its print samples, and we've been super pleased with the results on the walls. And trim. And ceilings. There's also lots of Sherwin Williams color ideas on Pinterest. Since we have a contractor painting the house for us, I don't personally know yet how the application of the paint feels. However, one day while Ana was assisting us, another customer came into the store gushing about how easy the paint was to apply. "It's like butter" was actually a phrase used to describe their Cashmere paint line - the same paint we're using. So much better than thin paint that drips like water and needs 3 coats. I don't know anything about their wallpaper line, but as far as paint goes, we love this store. read more
