Long-time customer, but this was easily one of the worst interactions I've had here. Asked Patricia (manager) for help finding an electric impact gun and was met with vague, lazy directions like "aisle one," which is essentially the entire store. After searching and asking again, she still couldn't be bothered to give clear guidance and claimed she was "busy with another customer," even though she was just restocking shelves. It would have taken under a minute to walk over and point it out. Instead, I got dismissive behavior and zero effort. Honestly, it's concerning that someone with this level of customer service is in a management position. If this is the standard, it explains a lot. I hope Lamar who's the general manager could see this and probably educate this manager on good customer service values. read more

Received by email this day, a 25% coupon for one item, woo hoo! Drive to Harbor freight on Figueroa to pick something up, found what I wanted and showed my text /email. The cashier said it needed a code. I showed her what I was sent, this was a $15 or so item, I wanted to get, a manager was called over and he said he couldn't give me the discount cause a code was missing. I drove 5 miles to get this and he refused to give me the stinking discount, he offered 10%, no thanks., the managers name is Freddie. He would not make a customer happy over 25% off an item. A discount I was emailed from them that very morning! This was unacceptable and a total waste of my time. I'm furious over the petty handling of this and will follow up with corporate. I was shopping here over Home Depot's policy's with ICE. What a disregaurd for my time and patronage. I would love to hear from someone in corporate over this. What a petty waste of my time! Btw, I called what I thought was "corporate' and was disconnected. I tried two more times and never received a call back, talk about poor business practices! I guess being a valued customers with a membership is not enough for just a little Respect Mr Gabino the manager. Returning an item that was purchased yesterday, because it was on sale today. Really disappointed with their new promotions. If it has a $20 limit as HF now includes taxes part of the limit so you no longer go buy something for $19.99 because the tax will push it over $20 and then you don't qualify for the discount. I was there the other day and young female gal was the most unhelpful person I could ever imagine working at any retail store. Honestly, the best harbor freight I've been to so far. Location is great, parking is plentiful and most importantly the customer service and general store environment are both impressive and relaxing. I was greeted by a manager there (Lamar I think?) as soon as I walked in and found the store to be very clean and organized! The employees were Ive interacted with in this store have all been welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately, with this being a recently opened location, there were some items that I was disappointed to not see. Not a big deal imo but if you're looking for something in particular, calling in advanced wouldn't hurt. Regardless, 5 stars from me because everything that is under the stores and employee's control is done outstandingly well. read more

I wanted to share my experience at Harbor Freight with the Manager Mario. What a great guy. I needed a Compound Miter saw for a couple of large projects. I went with the Admiral 12". Mario told me about the Hercules 12 Miter saw. He told me the benefits and the better build. I thought about it 24 hours. I went with the Hercules and I can't thank Mario enough with his recommendation. He was 100% correct. It was more expensive but WOW what a saw. Look at the reviews on You Tube. I am coming from a 10" craftsman that has had its day. People like Mario make it a pleasure to deal with Harbor Freight. Harbor Freight has better customer service than Home Depot or Lowes. You know it would really be ideal if SOMEONE bothered to mention that they can't take gas powered equipment back if it has any gasoline in it. Damn. Loaded a wood chipper into my truck and raced here at closing time to find out that the pint of gas left in this tool would make me load it back take it back home siphon the gas out and come back tomorrow. Newest location worked out perfect for the NELA DIYers. Lots of parking and plenty of spots in this new shopping center. The prices for tools is amazing. They have almost everything you need to get the job done. Spent hours researching diy videos and used the money that I would normally pay in labor, on new tools! So picked up a new Daytona Jack and some miscellaneous hand tools. That quote for $2000 to replace my shocks and struts motivated me to learn about my truck and how to fix it. Watching enough videos helped prepare me for the task but the next question was the most expensive. Do I need the same tools that are used in videos to get the same result? Everyone online has name brand tools. It is a low key flex but if your a DIYer, you are on a budget. If you are not a full time mechanic then it's likely you won't need expensive tools. This is where HF comes in handy. The cost for a breaker bar, sockets, punches, Jack, and the other tools needed to get this done is affordable. So dropping $500 in tools and a couple of hours watching videos makes a great choice. HF has several brands they sells at different price points. Get what you can afford and get it done yourself. I was asked by the helpful staff if I needed help loading the Jack into my car. My advice, take the help because this thing is heavy. I came in this afternoon for a simple 2" c-clamp. I walked in and saw a lady with a Harbor Freight shirt on, so I say "hi, can you help me find..." and was ignored. I continue to ask "excuse me, hello, excuse me" and continue to get ignored as she walks away. The cashier, seeing this and looking at me funny tells me "she's not clocked in." The good...I've visited and purchased many times at this location. Ive always been greeted with a smile, its never been hard to get help. The manager has gone out of his way to help or help me find an item at another location if they don't have it. Lots of parking space The Bad... The homeless and vagrants have been an issue. I caught a guy trying to break into my truck in November 2021 and in January (2022), I saw a lady at the bus stop get her purse taken by a guy on a bike. This location is brand new. I have been a customer of Harbor Freight for quite a while using other locations. This is much more convenient for me location wise. I was just blown away with the customer service and courtesy at this new location. Because of the Covid situation and my age, it's risky for me to enter into inside establishments. The manager, Rudy was kind enough to take my order over the phone, check the stock for everything I was looking for and give me a total amount for everything, including coupon discounts. When I got to the store parking lot, which is huge and adjacent to the store, I called Rudy and he brought everything out to my car and loaded it in for me. An honest question: Where in the hell can you go and get this kind of service and courtesy???? Obviously, Rudy made this happen with ease. You might want to really check this out.
