A year or two ago, I discovered Bashas' through a national publication's list of "Best Regional…read moreGrocery Store Chains." Founded by Lebanese immigrants, Bashas' now boasts a family of over 150 grocery stores and specialty markets in Arizona, New Mexico, and on the Navajo Nation. As a Southern Nevada resident, this Kingman location was the closest to me, so I bookmarked it and finally visited earlier today. Here are some highlights: CUSTOMER SERVICE: I was greeted warmly by multiple store employees, and the overall customer service was impressive. AMBIANCE: The store was clean, easy to navigate, and unfussy. Upon arrival, I beelined to the produce, deli, bakery, and specialty items section. The bakery was bustling with activity, and I later discovered through the Phoenix subreddit that Bashas' is renowned for its baked goods. FOOD SELECTION: My primary focus was on Bashas' unique snacks and store brand items. I was particularly surprised to find muscadine jelly, a staple from my childhood in the Southeast. Additionally, I noticed several Bashas' store brand items on sale or at very reasonable prices, such as honey roasted peanuts priced at two for $5. I bought a few to assess their quality and determine if I'll be a repeat customer.

No. Say no…read more Ambience--It's a tourist trap. The decor inside is dated not in a good way. The tables are cramped and spacing is not great. The bathroom..only one for women and one for men. The woman's bathroom was gross. I almost walked out based on the cleanliness of the bathroom. If we had not already placed our orders I would have. It was worse than a truck stop bathroom. Food--The burgers were good according to my counterparts. Nothing spectacular but good. I had the Catalina pizza. I will grudgingly say it was pretty great. Crust was fantastic. Taste was good. That's all I have to say that's good. Service--ok. Just okay. My counterparts were two bites away from finishing their meal by the time mine came out. The sign draws you in. You think you'll be in a very clean 1950's style diner. It's not. It's very old needs updating and a good scrub down. I wonder what the kitchen looked like. If the bathrooms were indicative....

So, needless to say the shock I felt at the Kingman Walmart was astounding! The employees smile! They act happy there! They actually HELP the customers!! We met a gal who was shopping on her DAY OFF. She saw we looking in the water, and she stopped to help us. I asked if she worked here- and she did. Her name is Iris, and she is AWESOME!! Though we didn't find what we were looking for, she left no stone unturned! Absolutely amazing customer service skills- and Walmart should know what a great job she's doing. We also came across cashier Janet, and whom I think is her supervisor- Susan. Both ladies were so wonderful! There was also a lady in cosmetics that walked me over to some products- the CS at this store is nuts!! Whatever is happening here in Kingman- please spread it East, North, West and South!!! We need more Walmart's like this one!! Kudos to Kingman!!!!! Thank you!! We're so glad we moved here!

The crispy taco tasted JUST like Taco Bell. We dined in and it didn't take long to get our food. Super cheap, too. There was one awkward moment in the bathroom, as the smaller stall in the ladies room didn't lock. I had just sat down when a woman walked in, yanked the door WIDE open before I could grab it, screamed bloody murder like she had never seen another woman using the toilet before, and screamed, "OH MY GOD, I suddenly don't need to go anymore!" before racing out the door. My friend saw her run out of the bathroom like she had seen a ghost. At the time, it was very much a "what just happened" type moment, but now it's just a funny story. But also, Del Taco - fix the locks please.
