The food is made right in front of you in the open kitchen area and the soups are made fresh daily. The juices are great, bread is crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, soups are fresh and flavorful, and I really enjoyed my acai bowl it was very refreshing. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by one of the friendliest people you could imagine--genuinely enthusiastic about her shop and truly happy to see us. We explained that we normally start our mornings with a vegetable-forward smoothie and were hoping she could help us hit reset. She absolutely delivered. She made us an incredible green smoothie packed with spinach, kale, beets, and a whole list of other fresh ingredients. She even added a scoop of vanilla protein to round it out perfectly. While it was clear most of her regulars gravitate toward fruit-forward smoothies, she was more than happy to create a completely custom blend just for us, even though it wasn't on the menu. I ordered the Beer Battered Atlantic Cod basket with fries, and for $13.99, the cod was not only delicious and crispy, but the fries were just excellent with the fish as well. Not only that, the portions were very large, too. I was super full after that meal! I will absolutely order this again, just thinking about it makes me hungry. Service was top-notch, as usual. There is not a single day where I have came in and it took more than 10 minutes to be seated and have my order taken. Everyone there is so friendly, and it really felt like the service was so good there, they were only serving me. That's just how fast it is. Inside is always great, too. Calico's has a large range of artworks, trinkets, and more. They showcase R66 stuff, too. The inside is never too hot or too cold, and it's all clean and comfortable with a massive space inside. In all, Calico's is not just a little place off the road. It's got excellent food, incredible service, and a welcoming environment. I do recommend for anybody looking for these things. Thank you!
