A year or two ago, I discovered Bashas' through a national publication's list of "Best Regional Grocery Store Chains." Founded by Lebanese immigrants, Bashas' now boasts a family of over 150 grocery stores and specialty markets in Arizona, New Mexico, and on the Navajo Nation. As a Southern Nevada resident, this Kingman location was the closest to me, so I bookmarked it and finally visited earlier today. Here are some highlights: CUSTOMER SERVICE: I was greeted warmly by multiple store employees, and the overall customer service was impressive. AMBIANCE: The store was clean, easy to navigate, and unfussy. Upon arrival, I beelined to the produce, deli, bakery, and specialty items section. The bakery was bustling with activity, and I later discovered through the Phoenix subreddit that Bashas' is renowned for its baked goods. FOOD SELECTION: My primary focus was on Bashas' unique snacks and store brand items. I was particularly surprised to find muscadine jelly, a staple from my childhood in the Southeast. Additionally, I noticed several Bashas' store brand items on sale or at very reasonable prices, such as honey roasted peanuts priced at two for $5. I bought a few to assess their quality and determine if I'll be a repeat customer. read more

Still has some really good deals but you absolutely need the Thank You card or you're paying Safeway/Albertsons prices for the most part. You can't get this if the cash registers aren't open (like early morning), they don't do it at the self-checkout and they won't courtesy ring one for you either like a lot of places do. Guy was apologetic but said something about you can just download the app to get one too. read more

Not only did he hook me up with two amazing ribeye roasts, but he also took the time to help me install the store app on my phone. Friendly, patient, and genuinely helpful from start to finish. Frequently there are no non-self checkout lines open. Today I just wanted to purchase groceries and not get a job a a checker. Of course, the only way to check out was self checkout with a long line waiting for this feature. OK, I did this and got through a long process of scanning and bagging a full cart full of groceries. Lots of people waiting and asking for them to open an actual checker assisted line. When I attempted to pay for my scanned and bagged items, the screen continually had an error message. The one lady attempting to assist the self checkout area finally looked at my problem and told me my card was out of credit. Nonsense. I showed her that another card had the same error message. The employee finally admitted that the machine was broken but she could not assist me in paying for my items. It was impossible to use another checkout in the self serve area because they were all full and the line was long. Ultimately I left the basket full of scanned, bagged groceries and went to Safeway where the card worked just fine and I did not have to scan and bag my own groceries. read more

Fresh made doughnuts, always have a great deal going on with their meat depending on the week. Produce overall is good compared to other groceries stores. Everything else is pretty much priced like everyone else. Just got to look at the ads. read more

This store is absolutely atrocious. I will never be going back to this Cesspool of a location. Bashas Starbucks is very good, quite like a glass of ice water in hell. The Deli Department is chuck full of fruit fly's for that extra flavor. The butcher is so kind and friendly. On my latest trip, he stepped right in front of me to grab the (Allegedly) mad cow disease ridden T-bone steaks literally out of my hand for another customer. So good on him! I have been shopping at Bashas Kingman for over 15 years. For most of that time I have never felt Bashas was spectacular, but it is close and was as good as any other store. Also, most of the people are really helpful. Especially a couple of people from the meat department and deli. So I guess I am venting today because I am tired of the increasing long lines at the self checkout. Bashas has one employee to cover all six self checkout registers. I don't like self checkout. In fact I would go as far as saying I hate it. Another thing is, like today. The price they put on the tags often doesn't match the sale price. I was going to get the value pack of some tri-tip but price on the package was a dollar more per pound than it was supposed to be. I asked the meat counter guy about it. He said he would fix it. After waiting ten minutes I left because I saw that he went back to doing what he was doing before and ignored my request. I did call the store when I got home and told whoever answered my complaint but how will that help me now? I don't know. it takes a lot for me to complain. I just want Bashas to know that I am about to start shopping somewhere else. I mean they just keep raising the prices of everything and the service is suffering. read more

I wish I could give a negative 5 stars. We stopped in for coffee on our way though Arizona. Bathrooms were deplorable, disgusting sh@t holes. The store smelled putrid, I found someone to ask that management be told about the condition of the bathrooms and he said "management is over there, tell them yourself" Ok so I did, and basically they don't care. So ask yourself this when you walk into this store. Where do the employees wash their hands when they prepare your food or handle things you purchase? Because honestly the sink was disgusting as well. Nothing is perfect and I know its hard to keep up with cleaning but this place was 3rd world disgusting. LOVE their donuts. Not thrilled with the new setup. Decided to try their breakfast burritos this morning. They're $3.99 and are mostly potatoes, no cheese, and a single slice of bacon. Also the tortilla just fell apart into pieces so I had to get a fork to eat my burrito- super fun! read more

This is a great store. Also its location makes for a terrific experience for the person that needs one or two things and can get in and out in a few minutes. The places on Stockton Hills Road can be gridlock during the middle of the day. It can take 30 minutes or more to get a bottle of milk, some dog treats and sweet potatoes. I really admire the Bashas company mission statement. Each month they designate a percentage of their receipts to charity. It is listed by month in the web page. I really think that is a great thing and more private sector companies should follow the model. I am a transplanted East Coast Whiner, and cannot nit pick one negative about visiting Bashas. And many of you know people from NY and NJ can complaint at the drop of a hat. read more

What keeps me coming back is Bashas employees. These people are consistently happy & willing to help. It still feels like an old school home town store in a corporate overrun world. Meat is better quality than any of the corporate stores in town. I find some of the most difficult items to find these days in the grocery isles. Liquor section is surprisingly low price if you follo w their sales, especially wine. Bakery I'll say is ok, not a huge selection but what I've found is good. read more

My friend and I are out on vegan on a fire crew doing severity near Kingman, and she goes out of her way every morning to make custom vegan burritos for us and anything else we'd like. Just like a neighborhood small grocery store However they did have some unique items "Indian Hispanic and a little Asian" Their meat case is small but the meat cuts look good and average price for the most part ( if u get one of their cards) saves ya alms of half price on a lot of times The bakery was very very small They so sell fresh roasted chicken The produce section was sad. Worse then Walmart. Not what I expected It appears half of this small store is full of liquor wine and beer. I've been coming to this store since we moved here from Ca. This was the first time I've ordered anything from the deli and was very pleased with my order. I ordered a 3 foot sandwich for Super Bowl and when I tell you it was good, I mean it was delicious! It was simple in it's construction, but the quality of the meats, cheese and bread was what made it memorable. First time every encountering this chain, and it's decent. Lacking in a few areas but some of the selection makes up for it. They have good sales and the staff is nice. I can only get a certain product at this store as it's not carried elsewhere so that's mainly why I pop in every now and then. I thought I was going crazy checking out here. Okay, that's the end....let's start from the beginning. We're traveling Route 66 and visited this store to buy a few items for the nights stay in Kingman. The store is okay. Prices were good and with what little we were buying I thought reasonable for being in a remote outpost like Kingman. The cashier wanted a Basha card to get me the prices showing in the store for many of the items I selected. As the line behind me grew, I explained we are traveling and a card won't be necessary for future purchases since there won't be any. He insisted that I needed a card and I could not borrow one from him or the store. Okay just give me the card. Nope, we've got some paperwork to do. The people behind me were very nice because they were doing the same thing....shopping for a one night stay in Kingman. After getting my new card and the sale prices all rung up the lady in line asked the cashier if she could just use my card. Nope. She was going to have to go through the same BS. How anal! read more

I had left a review some time ago, back when customer service was excellent, selection and prices too. Now, it sucks. New owners, all new people. Everything has moved, not just a little but sometimes to the opposite side of the store! They are funneling people past what will be their new Starbucks and open 1 checkout so that everyone will go thru and use the new check your own stuff out. Half the shelves are empty. Prices have jumped major! No more pot pies in the deli! Aisles are close together between produce and bakery, and along the side of the old meat dept after you are funneled past starbucks once again. I gave them back their shopper card since I won't be back, yep, that bad! They are pricing to rip off locals and marketing to tourists and the truck drivers that frequent the area. We went to Williams, AZ for a 4-day weekend and we're hoping for a bakery/donut spot to stop at on our way back home to Las Vegas. There was NOTHING in Kingman, with the exception of Basha's, but the Yelp reviews are all over the place. So, we had no idea what to expect. Well, guess what? It's a grocery store, and an okay one...it was clean, it was well stocked, and the prices were on par with the world we live in today (some things were expensive, some things weren't). Their Bakery is just like most grocery stores, and we grabbed 6 donuts and they were good. Were they the best donuts I've ever eaten? No. But they were better than some other grocery store donuts I've eaten. They were fresh, and they satisfied my snack needs. My fiancé used the restroom and said it was "okay", not pristine, but not as awful as some of the reviews. My only "gripe" about Basha's was that it was definitely necessary to get the rewards card to save a couple of bucks, and my fiancé signed up after the checkout clerk told us she couldn't give us a discount w/o it, but then it still didn't work. Stopped in to buy some groceries, for discounts you must have their card, I did not have card, upon check out told lady I was just passing through and did not want to fill out application for their card and could she just use a courtesy card and she said they did not have a courtesy card, so I left without buying anything. I feel that they are not very customer friendly for travelers on the road, and prices are considerably higher without their card. read more
