I haven't been in Safeway since I was a little kid in San Jose, CA. The last time I was in California, Safeway was Vons and Ralphs (and Quikstop) was owned by Kroger. I got diesel fuel first and everything worked as expected. Then, I went into the store. I thought that they were trying to go upscale like Wegmans on the east coast with the dim lighting over the produce. (They could have been trying to hide the mold on the bleu cheese, right? Isn't that mold anyway? You have to cultivate bacteria to make cheese in the first place.) Walmart has even tried it in the Neighborhood Market stores. I looked for snacks and drinks to take with me on the rest of my 2000 or so miles. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything interesting enough to buy at what seemed like high prices to me but then, I didn't have their customer card. read more

I just love this stores's customer service especially their "Drive-Up and Go". Excellent! I use it 2-3 times a week.

We usually fill up our gas, use the restroom, get snacks and a Starbucks here going to and from Vegas. Always a good selection of groceries at much better prices than Vegas. Easy to get off the freeway and back on too. read more

Clean, efficiently stocked. The staff was friendly. I was highly disappointed that they wouldn't scan the shop card for discounts due to us traveling through. I was annoyed the cashier wouldn't use it even though we had an out of town license. read more

This review is for the Kingman, AZ Safeway at 3970 Stockton Hill Rd. I spent 25 minutes standing in the Customer Service department before getting waited on. There was only one employee behind the desk and always 3-4 people waiting in line. Most were getting money orders or cashing lotto tickets. I was just there to buy tobacco products. This is poor customer service and its obvious that management doesn't have a handle on its operations and is clearly not in tune with its customers needs. read more

I have had issues every time I have shopped there. First I have to say that some of their meats have great sale prices. Last time I went, I was missing groceries. I wasn't charged for them. I just don't know what happened to them. This time I bought a pie & the cashier rang it up upside down. Who does that? Then I got home & the bag of potatoes I bought were already rotting.... I would avoid this Safeway location, like the plague. The store director Grant, who is haughty; extremely arrogant and full of pride. (they have had several in the past three years) Lacks customer service skills and stalks customers after they call corporate on him. He is worse than a sleazy car salesman. I will never return to this location, as the other Safeway in town has a great management staff and wonderful store director. This stores signage is the worst. They overcharge 75% of the time so check that receipt. This store once was good like five years ago prior to Albertsons taking over and just not worth the headache. read more

I always stop they have great deli chicken and baked goods plus everything I need for my road trips. Always clean and well stocked

Vons and Safeway are one and the same, but coming from SoCal it's still a little weird to be walking around in other states and seeing Safeway instead. The floor plan is the same, the lighting and items are the same you can almost imagine you are in a grocery store from whatever town you started your trip out from... except for the people! O_O Not the employees mind you, they were very nice and carried out their job accordingly. It's just the other shoppers at the store. Behind me in the check out isle there was a couple that look like they came out of the painting "American Gothic" but except more cowboy instead of farmer. Same dour expression but more white hat and jeans. I don't know what their problem was, just seemed like they were old and racist, because they were giving me 'the stare' for no obvious reason. Because I'm Asian, because I have multiple piercings in my ear, because I'm obviously not from 'round here, or I have something on my face?! What? :( I'll never know, but I'm just glad I didn't piss off the grizzlier cowboy at the entrance of the store. He was so grizzly, he makes the men in the Marlboro man posters seem dainty. read more

Nice and friendly staff. Place seemed to be clean and was not to busy. Prices are not to bed.

On May 26th I went to Safeway to get t-bone steaks. When we opened up the steaks, the one on the top was perfect. The three others all had the filet mignon cut out. I don' t know about you but I want what I pay for...I have never heard of this before. Someone needs to be called out for this one....Bad move on their part. read more

The only reason to go in any Safeway is for the Fried Chicken. Hands down, this Kingman location makes the best fried chicken I have ever had. I first discovered the fried chicken at the Williams, AZ location which was also amazing...so if you are on a road trip and need something easy and quick to eat, I suggest the Fried Chicken and only the fried chicken. They make it fresh all day long. I've only tried it at the location next to the freeway but there is another safeway down the road a bit next to Home Depot...i almost don't want to tell you b/c I don't want them to have to raise their prices again due to high demand. read more

The Starbucks clerks and deli clerks were all very courteous but the store is DIRTY! The area inside the Starbucks shop was dirty and the same goes for the deli. Disappointed and won't be returning unless desperate. read more

I had the misfortune of visiting this store on a drive through Kingman. To say customer service is lacking is an understatement. I actually witnessed employees mistreating another employee, while ignoring the fact I was standing there waiting for assistance. This store needs a makeover in customer service, employees, and management. Glad to say I will never need to go there again, but feel sorry for those who don't have many more options because they live there. read more

Hoping and praying that the deep-fried chicken I just ate doesn't make me sick. It was mushy and had a slight flavor of fish, I assume from the oil. Not recommended. I did eat it, so shame on me. read more
