I just got back from 2 months in Italy and this sandwich was as good as anything I had there. While I was there I had to try one of everything so for pastry I tried a sfogliata which is a multi layered pastry filled with a vanilla custard. This was either brought in directly from Italy or made by an Italian chef. It tasted just like it should. Then I tried the gelato. I had the stracciatella which was very good. Just two notes here though 1) the gelato temp is too cold. You need to let it warm a little before you eat it to get the full flavor 2) the pistacchio gelato served is bright green.
