Okay, I'm from New England so you know my #1 contender is not a dough in the box, HOWEVER my husband put me on to this little spot and I implore you (who is reading this) to run not walk to this little gem. They low-key have a secret menu and if you don't see it, just ask and they can probably make it. Their biscuits are so good, but that's not even what I came to tell you about. The donuts are unique and so delicious! Everything is super fresh and the staff are so nice! Unfortunately, the area is under construction at the moment so parking is a little tight but don't let that deter you from checking this establishment out! Noticed this on a Yelp official list of Americas 50 best doughnuts and because it is only about 10 min away we took a Sunday morning date. We got 6 total for takeout. A combo of unique items & good old standbys. They were all really good but the Boston cream & red velvet were our favorites. If the actual flavor of the doughnuts matter to you (aside from frosting ur any extras) then you will appreciate this place. They also threw in a few doughnut holes as a surprise when we opened our box at home Also the staff who were all young (looked to be high school maybe) were really nice and knowledgeable. The type of establishment where they will ma'am & sir you (if you like that kind of thing) I'm not sure I think it's one of the best doughnuts I've ever eaten but it's a far cry better than the national big chains locations beer us so we will be back to try more flavors. read more

I recently came into your store because I woke up wanting dough but like without the middle part of it. I saw that you guys had a Nutella doughnut and omg I almost exploded, 10/10. As well as a red velvet cake, that one was giving a cake that was turned into a doughnut, 8/10 . I got a Boston cream doughnut but it seemed more like a Boston partially filled cream doughnut. Had an opportunity to finally go to Dough in the Box! When I entered I was greeted by an amazing staff that was working hard to get the customers in and out. On this visit I ordered doughnuts and the Jamaica Me Crazy coffee. I wanted to make sure I got some doughnuts for my husband to try. They had a huge variety of doughnuts, pastries and drink options. Oh yeah and BAGELS!! OMG! On top of ordering doughnuts for later, I ordered a jalapeno Asiago bagel with cream cheese($2.95)! The bomb, I have fallen in love with this bagel. So, I ordered a half a dozen of doughnuts($5.75) and one of the doughnuts(Cronut)was a specialty which was an additional .50 cent which was cool. I love doughnuts! I always look forward to trying a new doughnut shop and was super excited when I pulled into this plaza in Austell and drove past this retro looking donut shop. Dough in the Box currently has two locations, one in Marietta and another in Austell. This is a family business and according to their website, Dough in the Box makes authentic American Donuts, California style (light and not too sweet) with different icings from a perfect glaze to a not so simple minded Italian Cannoli filled Donut!  My opinion- The doughnuts are old school and perfect! They're so soft and cake like but not too sweet, it takes me back to the doughnut shops from my childhood. The prices are also very affordable, it's oldschool prices. You can get 1/2 dozen for $5.50. I know crazy, $5.50 for 6 doughnuts and they're better than any gourmet shop. The shop is very clean and the employees are extremely friendly and very helpful. The also have a cooler with paletas heladas in all flavors. Love it!!! I will definitely be back very soon. read more

I've been wanting to visit Dough in the Box for a minute, so imagine my delight when I realized there was one down the street from my job. Pros: Great customer service, they open at 5am (for the early birds), good selection of classic & special donuts (exs: bacon & maple and red velvet). They offer a wide variety of breakfast foods & cold/hot beverages as well. Plus, they have a points system that can get you a free coffee for 10 pts or discounts for more. Cons: a lil bit of a doozy to get to, because you can't make that 1st left after you drive past the shop on your left; so just something to keep in mind depending on which direction you're coming from. I went about 30 minutes before closing time (3pm), so it wasn't packed. Enjoy! read more

Yay, we finally get a good doughnut shop in the area! I mean, who doesn't love a good doughnut? This place definitely had some good doughnuts. I went on a Saturday around 11am. There were quite a few people inside. There is some inside seating. There are also a few tables outside on a small patio. I got the half dozen doughnut box. It was so hard to pick. I got an Oreo crumb, Red Velvet with cream cheese icing, guava and cream cheese, strawberry filled, Nutella filled, and chocolate sour cream. They also threw in a handful of donut holes with my order. I've now eaten the entire box by myself. Every single doughnut was delicious. If I had to pick a favorite I'd probably pick the Nutella because they do not skimp on the filling and I love Nutella. This is a great addition to the area and I will definitely be back. read more

Awesome place. If you would like to have a sit down with some delicious coffee and just watch the Trains go by (yes, I said trains) - this is the place. Doughnuts, bread, croissants, fritters....all made from scratch, no preservatives, good loving servings. They (Ms. Dania and her Husband) will treat you like close friends, and that made a big difference. The place is a vintage work of architectural art - restored by hand by these two fantastic doughnut chefs! They also have take out!! Their food is fine but NEVER work for them. They treat their employees poorly and never listen to what they need to say. Had a homeless man stalk me all the way and they didn't care. They also demand workers pay for their food when they literally work there. Got pushed and my arm scratched cause the owner body slammed herself into me to stop me from not pushing the customers to sign up for their rewards program. They accuse workers of stealing money and tell them to up sale everyone. It was a dream job. The owners made it a nightmare. read more

Yummy food here including the breakfast sandwiches. I've been here about five times now and they don't seem to ever fall short...unless you get a doughnut hole or two that isn't cooked all the way through like I do but I digress. i've been buying cronuts from a company called Goldbelly. Cronut's come from New York and originated from New York. My best friend went to Dough in the box and told me she saw cronuts on the menu. I called them and had them to put aside nine for me because I've been paying $89 for cronut's from New York. I was very excited to learn that cronuts were here in Georgia Because I have searched all over. I drove one hour to Dough in the box and was sadly disappointed to know that they didn't have cronuts, they were selling croissants fried and sweetened. If you ever had a cronut you would know the difference between a croissant and a cronut. Customer service was excellent the restaurant was clean everyone was friendly and nice. I was very impressed with the way they ran this bakery, on the other hand I was disappointed that they were passing off croissants for cronuts. If I am ever in the area again I would be happy to stop by and grab a few donuts but I would never grab any of those croissants ever again. read more

That's just one of those foods that's hard to mess up, so I'll just say the food was tasty, the coffee delicious (mostly because it was fresh as opposed to the typical *been sitting awhile* burned stuff one gets in a lot of restaurants). So why bother to review and why 5-stars you ask??? SERVICE is the answer of course. I will be back and often. Eric, my Server, was such a beautiful human being. First time visiting and I'm not sure if I will visit again. We tend to visit the donut places that aren't huge franchises, so we were hoping for a fresh tasting donut and a new spot to frequent. My husband who think he's a donut connoisseur was very disappointed in the taste of the donuts, as was I. We were given 3 holes, with our purchase of a crumbcake, nutella filled, and apple fritter. The holes were dense and my husband said they tasted old to him. I agreed. Overall the donuts weren't anything special, but the best tasting one was the crumbcake. It didn't taste like a 2 day old donut. I guess for me we are used to donuts that don't taste dense and still have a lightness to them. Also a fresher tasting donut.
