The dumplings were so tasty and I enjoyed the service and staff. It's a quiet spot right now, but I saw a lot of new folks like me coming to try. I'm glad it's here and look forward to more lunches with friends!

Great Chinese Dumplings and fast service. We were there on Friday at 5:30 during their first week soft opening. There was a line out the door with many students ordering to go. We happened to see a table just left and took it! Hailey, one of the servers from a station next to us, greeted us and quickly cleaned the table. She was very sweet and helpful. She notified our server, he came and took our order. 5 mins later a serving robot showed up with one of our Shanghai fried noodles and a drink. We removed the items and sent it back. 3 mins later it returned with the Fried Buns, Edamame, Chicken Fried Rice, Szechuan Spicy Chicken, Scallion Pancakes, Pork Soup Dumplings, Pork and Shrimp Shumai Dim Sum, Cucumber Salad, Pineapple Passion Fruit Tea, Mango Passion Fruit Jasmine tea. Everything was delicious. The soup dumpling was a first for me and it was excellent. The Dim sun and cucumber salad were also excellent The chicken fried rice and shanghai fried noodle tasted good but were a little dry. Putting some of the sauces which were on the table, made it better. Being a soft opening, they were slammed. We were ready to pay and asked Hailey to notify our server. She offered to take care of it. Great food! Great Service!

Food is good but it's too pricey. The portion was too small in comparison to how much we paid.

It was a cold winter day and I just wanted something comforting for lunch. It was quiet but not empty inside Meimei's and we were quickly seated and placed our order. They had dim sum on the menu so we decided to try the dim sum sampler, which came with two steamed pork dumplings, 2 veg crystal dumplings, 2 siu mai and 1 char siu bao. While it could easily feed one, it was also great for sharing. We also ordered an order of lotus leaf sticky rice, fried pork glutinous dumplings, taro custard pastries and a bowl of hot and sour soup. The dim sum sampler was surprisingly pretty. The color of the veg crystal dumplings was one of the most insta-worthy things I've ever seen! The taste of everything was a-ok. Definitely worth a try, though! We loved the fried poor glutinous dumplings - fried to crispy perfection without being overly greasy. And the taro custard pastries were the perfect not too sweet way to end the meal. I was a little disappointed in the lotus leaf sticky rice. The texture was off and flavor was bland. Next time I'm in stopping through Augusta, I'll definitely be back at Meimei's for dim sum!!

This place is probably the only DIm Sum place in Augusta…read more The Dim Sim is very meh. When tasting multiple types of Dim Sum it's mainly the dough wrapped around it feels more overwhelming than the actual meat inside so on average it's about, maybe a 4/10. BUT the most craziest part is their Sizzling Rice soup is probably the one of the few best soups I've had. The broth extremely good being a lot of Sizzling rice soups are very bland this is different. Their desserts are also very good being their Sesame Ball and their Taro Custard is also probably the best and their green tea custard The identify of this place is very wierd because I actually enjoyed more of their soups and other dishes and desserts than their Dim Sum even though it's called the Dim Sum House.

They also have a shrimp wrapped in bacon deep fried and also shrimp in eggplant that are delicious. They have a large variety of dimsum. If you go too early, a lot of things won't be made yet and you will have to wait. Seems the later you go on the weekends, the more options they have. If you order pick up, give it about 25 minutes because they get so busy on the weekends. If you're dining in, it isn't always so easy to get a waiter's attention for things. So if you do, just ask for everything you think you'll need at once. Sometimes I just bring extra utensils and stuff with me so I don't have to wait for anyone to come over. I'm that girl that will put a bottle of Ranch in my bag (except it's chili oil or Sambal). They have chili oil at the tables and their chili oil is pretty good. If you're dining in they give you a discount if you pay with cash. The ambiance is of a typical dim sum place. Just come as you are in your sweats and enjoy your Yum Cha.

I really also enjoyed the chicken feet!another cool part was they brought a menu of additional items to order. We ordered the Chinese donut steam roll and the highlight was definitely the mochi meat "football" bun. Overall definitely our new favorite dim sum!

The Canton House on Buford Highway is my family's go-to for authentic Cantonese dim sum in Atlanta…read more The food is always up to expectations each and every visit. Having been at least once every couple months for years, it's our Chinese comfort food as dim sum is meant to be. Although I would recommend arriving at anytime they are open, we find the absolute best time for dim sum is to arrive right at opening on Saturday or Sunday. This time lets us beat the wait, get a great table fast, and the food is super plentiful, hot and fresh out of the kitchen. The chrysanthemum tea is a must have and complements the food as a perfect, tasty, and just sweet enough palate cleanser (although I would prefer to add the rock sugar myself to my tea, they serve it with sugar already inside the pot). For the absolute best pairing with your chrysanthemum tea, make sure to save room for the awesome pineapple buns while supplies last. They were out today and we all collectively cried (will be going back just for the pineapple buns soon...we are just not complete without them!). We love all the dishes, but our absolute favorites (outside of the pineapple buns) are the pork spare ribs with black bean, the beef rice rolls/noodles, shrimp dumplings, and turnip cakes. Add some spicy sauce to the spare ribs and turnip cakes to really set them off! For iced coffee lovers who like it really strong, don't pass up on the iced coffee. It has legs that are strong enough to walk, but completely complements the dim sum with a little extra boost to help you enjoy the day. So, I challenge others to find a better dim sum place in Atlanta. That is why Canton House earns my 5th star and looking forward to getting my pineapple buns (really) soon!

We started with the flower tea, amazing choice! Sweet and warming, nicely aromatic. Perfect start. Then the dim sum carts rolled in and we chowed down. DISHES I ORDERED - Siu Mai: Not the best I've had. Quite oily on the outside, but the flavor isn't bad. It does...taste like siu mai. It's just nothing spectacular - Chinese Broccoli: A classic! Very good - Beef Chow Fun: A very chewy and bouncy home made flat noodle dish. Savory, salty, and flavorful! Good amount of tender beef too. - Shrimp Balls: Crispy and fried on the outside, yummy, with good big shrimp ball. Yummy classic sweet and sour sauce too. Delicious - Egg Rolls: Good, not too oily, a normal egg roll - Spare ribs: Possibly my favorite dish! Tender, not too chewy, good savory sweet flavor. -- Overall, it's not bad but it's nothing to write home about. My favorite item was probably the spare ribs. The rest were standard in my opinion. However, service is fast since it is dimsum, so perfect to eat when hungry! Also great ambiance for big group parties or hangouts!

My family has always been a fan of Happy Valley. Har Gow 9.5/10 Translucent skin with a full shrimp inside. The texture and flavor are very close to what I've had in Guangdong. Hong Kong Style Egg Tart 9/10 Best when they come out fresh. Flaky buttery crust with smooth egg custard and a golden top. Feng Zao (Chicken Feet) 8.5/10 Good color and the skin has the classic wrinkled texture from braising. The flavor is savory with a slight sweetness, though a little lighter than expected. Beef Tripe 8.5/10 Tender with a slight chew and absorbs the sauce well. The radish underneath was really good. Beef Rice Roll 7.5/10 The flavor is good, but the presentation is not very Cantonese style. The rice roll is slightly thick but has a nice rice fragrance. The soy sauce they use is not very authentic. I used to eat rice rolls almost every day for breakfast when I was in school in Guangzhou, so I am very picky about rice rolls. Pork Siumai 8.5/10 Pretty classic dim sum. Clams 7.8/10 The clams themselves are fresh and well cleaned. Do not be afraid to ask them to reheat if it comes out cold. However, the sauce was a bit too heavy for me.

For the price and the area, the food quality just wasn't there, especially compared to other dim sum spots we've tried across the US and Vancouver. Food quality Most of the dim sum we ordered came out cold, and some items seemed like they were reheated (microwave style) to warm them up. That made the outer texture thicker and less pleasant. Even the fried items were disappointing: the outside was soggy, not crisp. I especially had high hopes for fried items like fried taro and fried eggplant, but both were below par. Best item we tried The one standout was the Hong Kong style seafood chow mein with a clear sauce. That dish was genuinely good. Everything else ranged from "okay" to forgettable. Value I don't remember the exact total, but for a similar spend, I strongly feel you could get better dim sum elsewhere. It didn't feel worth the money. Service Service was fine. They were willing to heat items when we asked, which I appreciated, but it also highlighted the bigger issue: dim sum should arrive hot and properly cooked in the first place. Atmosphere The atmosphere was actually nice. It was pretty clean, and on Sunday there were carts, which could have been fun. But because many items were cold and not great, we ended up ordering instead of relying on the carts. Would I return? No. The space is pleasant, but the food and overall execution just don't justify the price.

I found the pork belly to be really tasty. There was a nice marinade over the skin and meat, plus the skin was pretty crispy even when some of the pieces got a little too moist inside the container. I thought there was a generous portion of the crispy pork in my meal. There were some mustard greens in the rice plate which added nice variation in taste. I also got a small cup of complementary soup on the side which I did not try but it did smell good. Overall, I think that my meal was pretty good.
