Such a great addition to the east side of Athens! The tuna and toppings were very fresh.

Mochinut - Athens - Pork belly rice bowl

Mochinut - Athens

After taking my first bite my initial thought was 'I will never order this again". I got the pork…read morebelly rice bowl and I absolutely and fully regret eating it. I feel gross and it was such a let down. If y'all know me, you know I'm big on being greeted within the first few seconds of walking into an establishment. The gal didn't say anything to me, just stood at the register waiting for me to order. I asked her what she would recommended between the pork belly bowl or the curry chicken noodle soup and she just said it just depends on if I wanted noodles or rice.. that should Have been my first clue. I hate leaving bad reviews... but this is not my first visit here. The first time I ordered the dumplings with chili sauce, and the older lady was super sweet and it was super delicious. My only qualms were how FILTHY the trash can was and how empty the place was... I was the only customer. It was the same this go around too... no customers, and the trash can was STILL FILTHY!! (And I know they're not busy enough to not get up off their butts and clean!!!) I digress.... The reason I feel grossed out is because the fried egg was barely fried, and there was no seasoning or pizazz to it at all... just a sunny side up on rice and pork belly. The pork belly itself was not fresh. It must have been cooked either earlier in the day or a few days before. I know this because of how the fat in the pork belly tasted. It wasn't cooked well either... there was no crisp to the top part whatsoever and the fatty part.... Well that was the grossest part. It was that gummy slimy texture and that is anything but pleasant. I'm really hoping this place turns itself around.. because I do dig the vibe, but they need to get un lazy and start caring a little more. And I'm not seeing their vision... are they a donut shop.... Hot dog shop... or Asian food...??? I think they would attract more business with a more definitive theme. Like I said, I hate leaving poor reviews, but I'm doing so in hopes they see it. (Oh ya, because calling with a critique is out of the question.... They don't answer their phone!! Tried calling to put in my order). Come Mochinut, do better!!! PLEASE!!!

Always a staple and reliable boba place. Went back recently and ordered the brown sugar milk tea…read morewith boba and it was so delicious. You can honestly never go wrong with brown sugar as a flavor. I also tried the passion fruit milk tea with star fruit jelly. Definitely a new favorite, I was reluctant to try a fruit milk flavor but it was surprisingly refreshing! The caramel Hokkaido black milk tea was super yummy too and more dessert-like. You can't go wrong with any flavor here! Prices and sizes are fair and workers are super sweet.

Pretty impressed with this Ding Tea! It's located in Downtown Athens and right by a parking garage…read morethat offers free parking for the first 30 minutes. They have a super impressive menu with the usual bubble tea offerings, fruit teas, Yakult drinks, and shakes, but they also have baked goods like muffins and donuts and banh mi! Like the other Ding Teas, you can customize the drinks to however much percent sugar and ice you'd like. The drinks are definitely not consistent and it depends on who is making the drink but I've always gotten pretty decent drinks. I was really impressed with their banh mi. I got the special combination banh mi and it honestly was better than a lot of banh mi's that I've gotten in Atlanta. Prices are pretty steep, but I guess that's inflation. There's ample seating in the Ding Tea with booth style seating along the wall and bar seats along the window. Decor was very simple. There's a lot of supplies visibly out though that kind of makes it look tacky. Music was also kind of loud, so I'd probably recommend coming here more for a take-out kinda deal. Overall though, I'd definitely recommend Ding Tea as a decent bubble tea spot in Athens!

I want to start off by saying I'm giving three stars because this place is very clean, had pretty…read moresolid customer service, and a lot of options for folks to choose from. However, I wasn't the biggest fan of our drinks. We got one drink that was sugar-free to accommodate our dietary needs, and it was not good at all. The passionfruit tea was pretty good. I would get it with less sugar because it's naturally very sweet. With that I wish they had more sugar-free options for those who need it and still want to enjoy a refreshing lemonade or tea. this spot is located right next to an apartment with very few parking spots in front. So I can't imagine how crowded it may get during busy peak hours. If you are not diabetic or you do not need sugar-free beverages then I would say it's worth trying. However, if you do have some dietary restrictions when it comes to sugar level, I do not recommend recommend.

I try to do my research and patronize businesses that I think will be good, but this is a new one…read morethat I was not sure about. Apparently this is a widespread international chain that originated in Taiwan, though I cannot remember seeing one before. I thought maybe they would be trying to pass off a low-quality product on a college town audience. However, I am pleased to report that it was as good as any bubble tea place I've been to in a while. My kumquat lemon tea came with delicious lychee jellies by default, and I experienced no difficulty or extra charge by opting for half sugar and half ice. These turned out to be good choices as my tea was just sweet enough and the little bit of ice was just enough to make my tea cold without wasting space. The flavor was quite complex and I enjoyed it to the last drop. Their tea menu is sizable and intriguing, and the people working here appeared to know what they were doing. Notably, they had waffles which smelled awfully delicious, but contrary to what my Yelptastic profile might suggest, I do not eat everything in sight, and I did not have room for a waffle. But the people who did get one looked happy.

I have been in Athens for almost a week now. I have enjoyed all the southern comfort food i have…read moreeaten but I'm ready for some Asian cuisine. My husband and father in law decided to grab pizza from Johnny's pizza next door. My cousin and I headed to Siri. I did check out their online menu before heading there. They seem to have your typical Thai food which is nice. Everything on the menu looked great! Lots of options to pick from. The venue itself is pretty. I love all the beautiful decor and how spacious it is. I got sat at a table while I was waiting for my cousin to head in. There was a huge rain storm and she needed it to pass before she could head in. I was told to order first and that she would order when she made it in. I got myself a Thai tea as I looked over the menu one more time. The tea was good. It was a little light on the spices and half and half but it was still good. I got some crab rangoons started. Back home, my go to meals are pad se ew, yellow curry, pad thai and rad na. On their menu there's a noodle dish that sounded similar to rad na. It's called lard na, wide rice noodles with veggies in a gravy. That's how you would basically describe rad na. I asked my server if it's pretty comparable and she said yes. So with her confirming I went ahead and ordered it. The crab rangoons were ok. They were really tiny. The filling in the middle was a little too sweet for me. It would have been nice to have a savory middle since the dipping sauce was on the sweet side. My noodle dish didn't come as I expected. There was a lot of gravy to the dish. The gravy acted like a broth. It was overwhelming eating that much gravy as a broth instead of having the gravy coat the noodles. The gai lan and broccoli was really fresh. The tofu was good. My favorite part of the dish was the wide rice noodles. But as a whole, it was ok. My experience here was decent. It was nice to branch out of all the southern style food and have some Asian cuisine. The venue is really nice and the staff was kind. It was cool to be able to mark off Thai food off my to do list in Athens.

It's like a cute little cozy cottage with ice cream but tip parking is limited. When you go inside you'll see a large menu with all of their flavors and cones etc. It smelled amazing in there like pure waffle cone bliss!! The kids sampled several flavors and they use mini metal spoons for the samples. The service was great they were very patient while we tried a couple of different flavors and were very helpful. I ended up getting a single scoop of the honey vanilla bean in a cup and it was tasty and came with a piece of the waffle cone which I was dying to try after smelling it when we walked in. My daughter got the rootbeer float flavor and loved it! One friend went with the lemon bar and the other did the mint chip and they both raved about how good it was! We took our ice cream to their back patio and enjoyed it at a lovely picnic table with an umbrella. It was a very nice afternoon with a little breeze perfect ice cream weather! The honey vanilla bean was great very soft vanilla flavor with a touch of honey nothing too over the top which was great. The waffle cone was also tasty a little salty for my taste but I'm very sensitive to those kinds of things the rest in my party didn't even notice. When we were leaving we went along the side to the parking lot and we saw another large menu with a table and a window to order from as well it was very cute!! Overall, it's the perfect little spot for a nice ice cream cone or cup with good company!
