I came here for lunch with a friend. I liked the food and would come back. You order your food from your phone which I personally liked but you pay out with the server. I really liked the garlic green beans, Hong Kong wonton soup and custard buns. I was hoping the sesame buns were better than they were. Everything was around $10 and for 6 items between us it was $62 for lunch. Service was quick for lunch but it doesn't seem like a place that gets crazy busy. I would say Dumpling House has average soup dumplings Palette San Francisco tends to be my go-to, but it was fairly late when I decided to order so I ended up going with this location. Although both the bao and the soup dumplings were delivered warm, right away I could tell the quality of the ingredients was lower. The containers of soy sauce had also opened and gotten all over the dumplings which is a personal pet peeve of mine. I prefer them packaged in their own box. All in all, while I liked the style of bao from Dumpling House, I mainly order for the soup dumplings, and they were so average I just wouldn't go with them again. read more

The service is somewhat self serve as you scan a qr code and order for the table and pay. The food is pretty good. Probably one of the better xiao long bao places you can get. They are piping hot and have a generous amount of soup in them. The pork and cabbage is a tried and true winner. The truffle ones are good too if you like that umami truffle flavor. Wonton chili is a good one as well with a good balance of salt and spice and maybe a little sweetness too? The servers are all nice and will interact with you despite self service. The atmosphere is pretty casual and can vary from loud to quiet depending on the time. It feels really comfy inside. The 8 pieces were made differently than the three pieces. 8 pieces seemed a little smaller and I liked the chewy texture dumpling wrapper from the 3 pieces but that's just my opinion. Filing was delicious regardless Wonton with Chili Sauce - this is noted as "spicy" but it was not even close to spicy. I thought these were okay, the wontons were good but the chili sauce could be better. & last but not least!! XLB!! (Xiao Long Bao aka Soup Dumplings!) Made a reservation for 2 on Monday night for Tuesday @ 7pm with ease! When we arrived, we were seated immediately. I was surprised this place existed tbh! It's really hard to spot since there are big trees in front of the reastaurant. Service was great and quick. You order through a QR code and they bring it out to you within 10-15 mins. I feel like the creativity of dumpling restaurant names in SF is very confusing, there's too many dumpling houses, homes, apartments and what have you that it's hard to tell if they're owned by the same people. This was my favorite stop on my SF trip this time around! Staff was very nice and all food came out promptly. Note: Not pictured but we also ordered the pan-fried vegetable dumplings. If you get those, order them first because the staff informed us its the dish that takes the longest to cook ! Definitely worth the wait. Due to the variety of fillings and the various of wrappers, each dish had their own unique texture that made you want to keep eating more ! My personal favorite this time around was the chili wonton dish. To round out the meal, we also ordered oolong tea which comes in a very cute clear pot with matching cups. Ordering: to place an order, you have to scan a QR code and place your order online. Food: I ordered their soup dumplings and fried wontons. My friend ordered the spinach dumplings and vegetable pot stickers. The soup dumplings came with a vinegar soy sauce. They were super juicy and delicious with the sauce and their garlic chili sauce they have in bottles on the table. The fried wontons were drizzled with a spicy mayo sauce and the filling tasted with a shrimp ball. They were very crispy and has a good wrapper to filling ratio. They definitely filled me up and weren't too greasy. However, I definitely recommend the soup dumplings over the fried wontons. My friend also recommend the spinach dumplings over the vegetable pot stickers. The filling to wonton wrapper ratio was ideal for my friends and I. I would skip the regular Xiao long bao for the crab Xiao long bao. The crab ones had more flavor. The xlb were like gushers for sure! The Siu Mai were alright. All we had were dumplings, so I'm not sure how their noodle dishes are, but I'm sure they're pretty good too. My friend and I visited here before going to a concert. I made a reservation for 6:30, but it wasn't very busy, which was a pleasant surprise. There were only two other tables occupied when we arrived. Given covid times, I won't complain! We were seated and ordered via the QR code at the table. Our first order included: marinated cucumbers, char siu bao, original XLB, and crab meat XLB. The cucumbers were great--I would order again. Had a good mix of salty, sesame oil, and acid. The char siu bao was good, pretty standard. Both of the XLBs were good, and enjoyable. We requested extra ginger, which they brought quickly. After finished, we also ordered the wontons, via the online ordering system. The software was very user-friendly and easy to figure out. Both my friend and I thought the wontons were the highlights of the meal. This was definitely not anticipated, ha! The dough had a nice texture, the sauce was savory deliciousness, and the filling was flavorful. Would definitely order more wontons! When we finished, we let one of the wait staff know we needed the check and the process was pretty quick and easy. I kinda liked the hybrid of online ordering and traditional close out. I got the 生煎菜肉包 pan fried vegetable and meat buns and 凉拌海带丝 seaweed salad which were both really good. The buns had a fluffy, slightly sweet exterior with fragrant sesame seeds and crispy bottoms. I found this little gem by accident. Parking was pretty easy and the server was very sweet. I brought my baby and she helped me to a table with lots of room to park my stroller. The place is very clean and pretty big. We ordered the pan friend meat and vegetable bun. I highly recommend it. The outside was crispy and the inside was soft and spongy. It was so good I regretted not getting seconds. We also ordered the original XLB and crab XLB. Personally not a fan of the crab but you can really taste the meat. The XLB was juicy and tasty.
