Big menu with lots of options, I decided to get the szechuan dried spicy chicken. This thing clearly packs a punch and not for the sensitive to spice. Chicken is great and I enjoyed it. I'd probably share it next time so I could try more but a great meal and would try more from here. Very authentic Chinese food.

Good spot for authentic Chinese food. The restaurant is a bit dated but clean. The service team is not native English speaking so they can give off a different vibe. Generally they are nice but focus more on being effective. They have two tv's going through out the dining area. There are two large tables for bigger groups. The other tables/booths are suited for groups of four. I recommend their salt and pepper wings. They are so good, crispy and flavorful. The other dishes are fine as well. Despite the name, I'm not a huge fan of the dumplings. I admire their other dishes and their attention to being allergy friendly. It's one of the few places we can go.

We came from plenty of Chinese food of socal. Dumplings House is the 2nd Chinese restaurant we tried while we stayed in Boston. Service was okay but their food is incredible, a lot better than what we expected! Deserves better reviews on Yelp. Dumpling House is on our to eat list now.

Explosion of flavors... love this so much adding another pic!

Super good meal! Pork and leek dumplings, chicken and cabbage dumplings, spicy beef in wok, and their awesome szechuan dried spicy chicken. And the waitress was efficient and friendly...

The restaurant is very small and can use some updates. The food was disappointing. The only thing we truly enjoyed was the sweet and sour fried flounder. Everything else lacked in flavor or tasted old and odd. We were really hoping to find a good dumpling house outside of Boston. The service was fine. There didn't seem to be much staff. Parking is on site and small and shares with a few other businesses in the plaza.

I've been on a hunt for amazing soup dumplings for a while now. And while these aren't the best I've ever had, they do the trick!! But the udon noodles and shiitake mushrooms stole the show. I will come back just for these. The inside was cozy and pretty empty. Feels like the majority of business was takeout orders but we enjoyed our sit down meal and it was quick and delicious.

Dumpling House is a great hidden gem in a little strip mall on Walnut street in Newton. There was plenty of parking. Restaurant appeared very clean. Staff was friendly. The menu is huge. Mostly authentic Chinese dishes. Not your typical American style Chinese food. The food tasted extremely fresh and full of flavor. I started with a small hot and sour soup with shredded pork. It was large enough for two people. Very traditionally prepared with wood ear mushrooms, golden needles, tofu, pork, scallions. It had a very nice complex flavor with a big kick that would clear out anyone's sinuses. Soup was delicious! My first appetizer was the jellyfish with garlic. This was like a salad with the jellyfish cut in thin strips with a solid but not chewy texture. The dish also had cucumbers, carrots, sesame seeds and plenty of garlic. Delicious! Next I had one of my favorites appetizers. Crispy fried pig intestines! If you have never had this, step outside your box. The outside is crispy with a texture like bacon and the inside is a soft moist delicious pork flavor. This dish is amazing! For my entrée I had to go with the pork and crab soup dumplings. These were full of soup, flavor and makes the whole trip worth it! Soooo good! If you are looking for quality food that's different from the American PuPu platter, check this place out. I can't wait to go back!

This place has amazing dumplings and Chinese food! We had pork soup dumplings, salt and pepper fish, and pork udon noodles. Everything was amazing! The fish was fresh and perfectly fried in a light batter, then tossed in scallions. spicy seasons and garlic, which makes it very flavorful. It comes on top of lettuce. Which you eat together for amazing textures. The udon noodles were good, with shredded pork and cabbage with a nice soy flavor. One of my favorite foods is soup dumplings! It always intrigues me how the hot soup and meat filling stays in the soft thin dumpling skin until you bite into it. This place does it perfectly! I talked to the really nice owner and he says that they make it fresh every day and you can really tell by its exceptional quality. We are so glad that we came here and look forward to coming back next time we are in MA.

Food is great delivery or dine-in. Always get the soup dumplings and the scallion pancakes with beef. A Newton favorite.

We came for a family dinner and of course Grandma Ding was with us in her wheelchair. We only smashed into a few chairs in the big, crowded dining room. And fortunately other customers were understanding while the staff was helpful and accommodating. The small, curious child running around the dining room without parental supervision didn't get hurt when I ran him over. The menu was huge so it took a long time to order with Grandma asking questions about every item. I could see that the waitstaff was used to quick orders and rapid food delivery to the table, but the waiter remained kind and patient. He also repeated his answers loudly when she couldn't understand his English and because she didn't have her hearing aides turned up. We finally ordered a giant wonton soup, eggplant with garlic sauce, a shrimp dish, and orange chicken; all to share. Everything was fresh, hot, tasty and delicious. Grandma Ding did have to ask for the soup to be heated up because she likes it to be scalding. The dining room is worn and dishes were flying in and out as items were served and cleared. It's definitely a place for family meals, not one for an engagement proposal or romance. Perfect for our evening. Portions are generous and prices competitive with other restaurants in the area. Parking on the street is the only difficulty, particularly when you have a nonagenarian to get into the restaurant. We will definitely be back.

The scallion pancakes were excellent - the winner of the evening. The potstickers weren't what is typically referred to as potstickers, but the small gyodza that one buys by the bag in Chinese and Korean markets. These were poor and flavorless (we've bought MUCH tastier ones in H-Mart and the 88). The eggplant was very tasty, not too garlicky, and was an enormous portion. It was a bit greasy, but not too bad. The chicken with cashews was bland and boring. We dined there with a good friend and commented about the great service - fast and efficient. As I mentioned, the portion size was significantly larger that most restaurants these days. The prices were a bit high, especially considering the barebones atmosphere - but this is Newton Center, and we expected this. In short, I won't return to Ding's - there are lots of better choices.

In fact, ever since the other Chinese spot changed ownership, I entirely switched to eating here whenever I want a quick sit down Chinese meal. The food is good. It comes out pretty fast. It's done pretty well. And the best part, it just doesn't remotely hurt the wallet. Even being a regular, I'm still amused at how the service is so stereotypical Chinese in the way that I'm just another soul coming in to be fed and not remembered or acknowledged. Mind you, I'm here a LOT and am usually the only one sitting there eating while delivery people repeatedly come and go. Anyways, two reasons why I'm unable to give them 5 stars. First, the tap water they serve...tastes like @#$%. I don't know what it is but I've actually started bringing my own water bottle (or just ordered a soda). Two, the steamed rice is inconsistent. Half the time, it's perfect. The other half...is wet and mushy (I want to say a reheat but isn't that just such a faux pax in Chinese cuisine?). Nonetheless, this is one of the few four and less starred places on my list that I will still continue to frequent and recommend to anyone in the area wanting a quick and decent meal for cheap!
