Good takeout place, star off for no sweet sauce. Parking out front, dumplings were tasty.

Best Pu Pu platter I've ever had in my life. Fast delivery and so on point! Will probably get this again tomorrow.

*Limited Street Parking (Resident Pass Required)…read more The vibes is here are great, it has dim lighting and is pretty busy but small so I would recommend getting a reservation. They have a limited menu with some items being seasonal but the waiters are very helpful and will let you know. I strongly recommend the toro, it is on the pricey side for $55 but it is one of their most popular dishes and I would say it's worth it. One dish that was recommended by everyone that I was a little disappointed about was the lobster roe pasta. It was good but I didn't enjoy it as much as expected and it started become gummy like so if you don't eat it quickly, it may become like this. It is a little plain without the lobster meat but there is an additional $15 charge so that is up to you. We also got another dish, I forget the name I think it was some black bean octopus over rice. But this dish was great with a little spice to it. Enjoyed the sake flight as well, the menu is pretty descriptive so you can pick and choose which ones that look good to you.

We started with the temaki sushi ($32) which came with two handrolls that had a good balance of rice and fish. They weren't super large but were fresh and had good flavor. We then got the miso-braised pork shoulder ($18), which was a larger portion than expected. This was our favorite dish, as the pork was very tender and flavorful. The dish had pieces of cabbage which were soft, naturally sweet, and soaked up all the flavor of the sauce. I would get this again, but with some rice because it was seasoned strongly. As this seems to be one of their most popular dishes, we also ordered the lobster roe pasta ($34). While the noodles were creamy and tasty, I think this dish is more worthwhile if you add the lobster (+$15). It does become even pricier at that point, but the noodles on their own were not super memorable. At the end we had some stomach space left and were still curious about the menu so we ordered the monkfish katsu ($25). I regretted getting this! The breading and fish basically tasted like the frozen fish fingers you can buy from the grocery store. While the yuzu tartar sauce was tasty, the rest of the dish was just not worth it. Overall, I thought the fish was good quality and really loved the pork shoulder. I would definitely eat here again, but would do more research on different menu items ahead of time.

As we made our way inside the restaurant, Chef Chris took the time to greet us and since we were the first ones there for our time slot, he gave us the option to pick any table we wanted for our omakase experience. He is very personable and took the time to get to know us and talk a bit about his background. The tables were split into separate sections so that you were seated only with your party which I thought was a nice setup, especially for a date night. We decided to do the Grand Slam Omakase with 16 courses with a specially selected sake pairing. Chef Chris took the time to explain each course, with several of the components being made in-house. I was an especially big fan of the Hokkaido scallop course but everything was phenomenal, especially the nigiri. You can tell that every aspect of every course is crafted thoughtfully and with care. If you are looking for an omakase experience, I would definitely recommend reserving a time at Momi Nonmi!

The rice preparation and seasoning choices were perfect. I need more fresh wasabi in my life! We also wish the chef sold pints of his miso ice cream. While the chef makes every piece to order and explains the fish to you, we never felt rushed or pressured to eat quickly. He told us up front that seatings are for up to 2 hours and we finished in about 90 minutes. We would love to go back, but it's definitely more of a special occasion type of place than an everyday one.

It comes with 2 bowls of miso soup, which were perfect on a cold winter night. The boat also includes a martini glass with seaweed salad, providing a refreshing, upscale palate cleanser when you need a moment's break from the fish. I was very impressed with the thick cuts for the sashimi, and the toppings on the nigiri also gave a tiny twist to the meal - while yuzu and jalapaeño are common pairings with raw fish, for example, the strawberry-on-salmon was a novel combo for me! The rolls also add appeal for any eating partners who enjoy their fish in another form. There isn't a lot of natural light/windows in the main seating area, so the lighting is dim and gives off an intimate ambiance that's perfect for a date night - no complaints about the service!

It's the perfect spot for a date night or grabbing drinks and dinner with friends. For appetizers, I highly recommend getting the 3 sampler of tuna, salmon, and yellowtail dumpling to try them all. While called dumpling, it's more like a delicious fish rice ball with special sauce. The house special udon with shrimp, scallop, and fish cake was also really good. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken hibachi! It's good for being hungry because it comes with soup, veggies, rice, and some shrimp. It comes with yum yum sauce which goes well with everything and a sauce for the vegetables. The service was good, we did ask our questions about appetizers and she gave good recommendations. We didn't wait too long for the food. The ambiance here is great! They have Japanese decor on all the walls including paintings of cherry blossom, koi fish, Mt. Fuji, and even flowers on the roof. Overall, the food here is really good and this is a staple restaurant that I'll keep coming back to!

We were quite lucky as I noticed more people standing by the wall waiting around as the night went on. Few things make me as happy as seeing a gluten-free sushi menu, so I'm super grateful that this restaurant is able to accommodate my allergy! Our server was very welcoming and patiently went through all the different rolls that could be made gluten-free and brought out tamari sauce without me even needing to request it. My friend had been here several times before and told me that she's really enjoyed Sakana's specialty rolls, especially the ones with truffle oil. I'm not the biggest fan of truffle oil, but I also thought all of their specialty rolls looked really enticing. It was a bit of a bummer that the ones that I wanted to try the most couldn't be made into a gluten-free version... I ended up going with a roll that had tuna on the inside and scallop on the outside, as well as an extra Philadelphia roll. The specialty rolls are about ~$18 or so and the more regular rolls (that come with 6 pieces instead of 8) are about $8. As other people have noted before, the portion sizes were a bit smaller than I expected, especially for the specialty rolls. However, other than that, we had a wonderful dining experience. Our food was brought out super quickly and they continuously checked on us throughout the evening. Overall, I can see why this place gets quite busy around Harvard Square, definitely a solid local option if you're in the mood for sushi!

There was a huge line outside the restaurant but they gave you menus and took your order in line. Everything was pretty fast and efficient even though they were busy. They had music going and you can see all the workers vibing, it was good energy to see while eating. The menu isn't large but there is option for cold or hot and spicy. Pick the cold noodles!! They are so good, the soup was good too but the cold noodles are definitely the star of the show. The portion size is great, it was more than I expected and the portion with protein and everything was balanced well. The bowl came with beef, ginger, seaweed and I think tempura. I personally love eating sushi because I love rolling around my bed and wrapping myself in blankets like a sushi roll. Honestly maybe I'll do it later when I get home, I don't have a date today. Anyways you didn't come here for a rolling around review you came here for a sushi review. I got the pork bun to start and I swear it must have came from an ancient boar, the portion was dinosaur sized. Definitely a steal, please don't raise the price I'm begging you don't take this away from me they already took the kids. I ordered the miso salmon sushi and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff was very apologetic about how I was the only one of 6 to have my order take a little while longer and I don't think they realized I didn't care too much. Maybe I would if I was retired and didn't understand the plight of the working man anymore. I intended on giving the restaurant 5 stars after eating, but the waitress saw me writing the review. I was gonna drop it to 4 for that reason because I thought it was funny but I think they deserved every one of my fun filled shining stars.
