With Nancianf opening up a location over at Columbia Mall, Dumpling District is in serious trouble--they are definitely going to lose our business, along with a lot of locals who remember how good the food used to be. Soup dumplings are supposed to be the main highlight of this restaurant, but the execution has really gone downhill lately. Also, the spring rolls could have been fried a little harder. Ver crispy on the outside but once I bit into it, the soft texture threw me off. But it was nothing that my air fryer couldn't fix! When we asked why they were allowed to stay while we were being asked to leave, the owner told us that they were "special customers." That comment was extremely off-putting and left us feeling as though we were being treated as less important or less welcome. The only positive part of the experience was our waiter, who was polite and pleasant despite the situation. Overall, between the disappointing food, missing ingredients, and the way we were treated at the end of the meal, this was a very unpleasant experience.
