The servers are polite and familiar with all menu items. I showed one of the ladies a picture from Yelp and she was able to name the item. I did place an order and I think she forgot but it was ok because I was already full from the dumpling sampler. All dumplings from the sampler were very delicious my least favorite the veggie and my favorite was the kimchi which was a bit spicy. The place is cute and the food is always good. I've ordered the roasted duck with veggie fried rice, steam dumplings, and pan fried dumplings and they never disappoint. Also love the red can of herbal tea.

Ordered take out from here. There dumplings are ok. Your average soup dumplings. But I was super disappointed with their General Tso's chicken. I guess if you like white meat with no breading on it then you should be ok. But there really wasn't much flavor and was just a. Lot of red food coloring. The side of fried rice was super wet and could tell it's been sitting there for a while. The Shanghai vegan spring rolls were actually decent.

    - The restaurant is warm, clean, and charmingly decorated - Spacing is a bit tight with booths lining the inside wall and tables down the center--our family of four sat in a booth, and once the first dish arrived, we needed an extra table for the remaining plates; we noticed another family of four nearby had a similar experience - Staff is very attentive and friendly, and the service overall was lovely--an older gentleman (possibly the owner) even stopped by to offer keychain charms to our kids, which was a very thoughtful touch - Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet our expectations: Crabmeat Soup Dumplings had decent flavor and plenty of soup, but they weren't as hot as we'd hoped; Sautéed Chinese Broccoli came with nearly raw garlic and lacked the fragrant flavor we enjoy; Pan-Fried Pork Buns had a good amount of filling, though the inside of the bun was quite soggy; Spicy Wontons had a nice chili kick, but the wontons themselves didn't taste very fresh; Pan-Fried Noodles with Beef was the most disappointing for us--the noodles were soft/chewy rather than crunchy, and the sauce was quite mild and could have used more seasoning - Hoping this was just an off day...

Yoomee was very helpful serving us. The dumplings were perfection. I enjoyed my chicken lo mein as well. This is a very cute restaurant.

I have been looking for vegetarian soup dumplings all over NJ and i'm so glad I got to finally try them! The soup itself was an acquired taste and definitely needed to be doctored up with the sauce/chili oils. As far as the other entrees, everything was delicious and I enjoyed the Rice noodles with the peanut sauce. I wish it was a bit more savory but was pleasantly surprised by the flavor combos. Dan Dan noodles WERE the highlight of the entire spread and I would definitely order again

I walked outside in the cold for an hour and this was the first place I stumbled upon. It was like coming home. The nice server was like a mom asking if you would like hot tea. I said yes, and it was the best tea I had ever tasted. I did takeout here one time and decided to give them another try. The dumplings are definitely better served in the restaurant. I tried three dumpling dishes: Soup dumpling sampler: the pork and pork with crab are the better of the four. The veggie soup dumpling is not that great. Dumpling sampler: the standout is the kimchi dumpling: so flavorful! Pork with chives dumplings: excellent with lots of flavor. They also sell frozen dumplings for you to make at home. This is a good alternative to Soup Dumplings Plus, which always has a line.

I've been dying to come try this place out for a while and happy I got to do so on a rainy day. The staff was super nice and polite, you kind of felt like you stepped into someone's home from the formalities obtained from the staff. I've never ate anywhere where I felt so comfortable and taken care of. The food came out very quickly and was so good! I couldn't help but keep wanting to continue eating even after feeling full. Everything tasted so authentic and well seasoned. I can't wait to come back!

Came to the dumpling den after a few years of not going and I have been missing out! First you'll see there is plenty of seating and a menu with a marker is given to you , which i thought was unique. The order was swiftly taken and food also took just the right amount of time to be delivered so zero complaints. I ordered a mix of items but only pictured the top of some soup shrimp dumplings, but everything else i ordered like rice dumplings and bao buns were amazing! 100% going back more often.

Pretty great dumpling spot located in a desirable location. I love that they use disposable utensils and the place is very clean. The menu has a wide variety of selection and I like that you can check off on the menu what you want. Now let's talk dumplings! The soup dumplings were filled perfectly and the broth was delicious. We ordered a few different types of soup dumplings and regular dumplings and they were all amazing. We also ordered the boa buns with braised pork and my husband love that. The cheese wontons are the only thing I wouldn't order again.

Beef dumplings, Shredded beef with pepper noodle soup
    Eric K.

Surprisingly good- I didn't have a strong impression when I dined there near their opening few years ago, but decided to Uber lunch from there recently thinking they must be doing something right to still be around in the competitive fort Lee dining scene and because they were offering BOGO on a few selection of dumplings- so I got 2 beef dumplings for $7. 1. Beef dumplings (3/5, $7, App) - the skin was chewy and the right thickness. The filling could've been better in qty and taste but it wasn't bad. Good value. 2. Shredded beef & pepper noodle soup (4/5, $15, Main) - The soup had nice homey taste and surprisingly generous with amount of toppings. Beef tastes great, chewy without being tough, and pepper has good bite. Only knock was that noodle quantity was slightly lacking. Dumpling den redeemed itself and I'll be ordering delivery again from them. I do wish they would expand their BOGO offering to include some other dumpling selections so that we could try more variety.

Cute little shop where you order at the counter and presumably take it to go, but I dined in. It just came in a to go container and the trash is taped shut, but you can dine in. Metered parking around until 6 pm so it wasn't too hard to find an available spot nearby. I got the soup dumpling sampler because why not try some variety. They didn't come in the steamer because it was auto to-go and the dumplings were a bit small, but the price was reasonable. Each dumpling has a good amount of soup inside and the utensils to go made it easy to eat and sip. The food came out really fast and was tasty. Would come back to try more dumpling variety.

The service is very friendly and patient (and American friendly). The food comes out lightning fast. Everything is very reasonably priced. Best of all, it's all delicious. I tried stuff outside of my comfort zone and I loved it all. My favorite were the pork juicy buns (soup dumplings) but the most unique thing was the pan fried noodle which was like a crispy deep fried noodle that would soften as it sat in the sauce. The golden lava buns were sweet and rich and perfect for dessert.

After visitation for a beloved family member while in New Jersey state, my party arrived super…read moreearly and waited 1.25 hour for opening on a Saturday. We were second standing outdoors waiting in this big fat long line. Immediately upon opening for the day the line nearly forced entry near stampede and this cafe was immediately packed to full occupancy of patrons with free seating. The Yelp reviews are accurate and truthful. The food is great. This is a small cafe with only approximately eight tables. I do not recommend large parties of five and greater. It is no-frills, but not exactly "hole in the wall" type that lack in aesthetics for upscale lavish atmosphere but the deficiency is resolved in the food quality. There is one sole functioning restroom in the whole business, ergo, stand in line and wait. We entered hungry in a lugubrious sense of deep sorrow, but exited hunger pangs fulfilled. When exiting upon completion of our lunch meal, there was a line that quickly formed outdoors waiting. Unfortunately, access to this cafe in Edison, NJ is by car only and there is a free parking lot that is shared with neighboring businesses located in a small shopping complex. There are no business cards, and no takeout menus available. Customer service is efficient as the staff worked methodically hustling busy to take orders and fulfillment. Our male waiter was attentive to respond to our inquiries and make suggestions based on our desires. I was able to keep the sales receipt. Price is in the rationale realm of stagflation totaling $41.75. Nota Bene: No table hibernation as the table turnover is fast pace with a line overflowing outdoors which cannot interrupt the flow. My foodie synopsis: Pork steam soup dumplings, 6 pcs, siu2 lung4 baau1, 小籠包, $8.75 Very juicy, flavorful and great. It was served piping hot. This is my favorite default dish for every visit at any Shanghainese ethnic cuisine. However, there were no serving tongs provided for this particular appetizer which is industry standard. Preserved cabbage with pork noodle soup, syut3 coi3 juk6 si1 min6, 雪菜肉絲麵 $9.50 This is a satisfying Chinese comfort food. This noodle soup was abundant with noodles, pork and chopped vegetables. It provided warmth to my very broken heart. Shanghai chicken in wine sauce, zeoi3 gai1, 醉雞, $8.95 A traditional Chinese cold appetizer, aka Chinese Drunken chicken made with Chinese Shaoxing cooking wine. It has amazing flavor and texture to be deliciously enticing. Of course, the cooking wine brings flavor to this appetizer making you want more. Shanghai pan fried U-Don noodle, soeng6 hoi2 cou1 caau2 min6, 上海粗炒面, $11.95 Abundant noodles with good consistency and it not heavily filled with grease and oil.
