Clean, well-lit place with friendly service--as you'd expect in Weston, and much better than you'd expect in a typical dumpling restaurant. I started going to Dumpling Daughter two weeks after it opened and I have to say, It gets better every time i go. I've had almost everything on their menu and I haven't been disappointed yet. The service is quick and the owner is always available to answer any questions to give you a 5 star experience. The ambiance is quite casual but the food quality is that of a Michelin star restaurant. My favorite dish I have ever eaten at Dumpling Daughter was their Mahi-Mahi special with the miso ginger glaze. Nadia! I hope you are reading this. Please put this on the menu again! To keep it short, because I could go on for hours talking about my favorite restaurant in greater Boston, this is an excellent destination to have genuine Chinese fare at reasonable prices. My second experience here and it was as good as my first which was about a month ago. Dumplings were flavorful. Bubble tea felt refreshing and boba was just right. Food is fresh and better than anything I've had in the city. Everyone is extremely friendly and the owner does her best to make sure each person is happy with their experience. Our favorite place! Even my kids have favorite dishes that they straight request (they just turned 4). The place is easy to get in and out for pick up. Eating there is easy and it's BYOB (the grocery store next door sells wine and beer!). The food is delicious. The taste combinations are unexpected and work so well together. I had heard good things about this place, but was disappointed by the food and the prices. It is a noodle bar. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. I've eaten in many noodle bars in many cities. The food was pleasant but unremarkable and very pricey. The steam bun was dough-y. The soup broth tasted too strongly of turnips. I paid about $18. for a very ordinary lunch in a cafeteria-like setting. read more

Went for lunch on a recent Saturday. We had looked at their menu before going. We ordered 2 pan fried dumplings and 1 steamed. Dumplings were great. Hubby had a craving for Grandma's meat sauce over spaghetti. It was what he expected. We were able to order dan dan noodles (typically made with peanuts/peanut butter - son has allergy) . Not sure how they were able to recreate the peanut taste. It wasn't bad .. just different. The staff were nice so to be fair they get 3.5 stars. I think we will stick with the dumplings and try something else next time. read more

We had the pan seared pork and cabbage dumpling (delicious! So good!!), tiny chicken with sechuan sauce dumplings (dry, needs some veggies or a bit of oil with the chicken filling. I don't recommend these), minced pork with onions buns (light and fluffy! Needs a little more filling to balance the bun), shrimp dumplings (the shrimp had a fridge smell to it, needs some sesame oil), Dan Dan noodles (delicious!), and Taiwanese pork belly buns (so good with a sweet soy sauce!). Overall, this place was good and I would come back. I appreciate their healthy concept, but I think it costed the dishes flavor and texture (chicken and shrimp dumplings). If they changed the recipe a bit, I think these two dishes would be so much better! The staff was also very friendly and the food comes out fast. read more

My wife and I stopped at Dumpling Daughter for lunch today after reading write-ups in the Globe and in Boston Magazine. We are fans of Asian food and were not disappointed at Daughter Dumpling! We were so excited to try DD after reading about them in the Globe, but much to our chagrin, the food was not good and very expensive. The 3 day raman had a funky taste and the pork belly was soggy and all fat. I've had better dumplings from Market Basket. The restaurant is also very unorganized and crazy inside. We waited for take out for an hour after being told it would only take 40 min. Totally disappointed. Will not be going back read more

The dumplings and buns at this place are mediocre. It's just too much dough and not much filling. The bubble teas also lack flavor. This cafe does not come any close to the dumpling places in Boston, Allston and Waltham. I am really surprised by the positive reviews. read more

Great food, great price and in the 'burbs! I've eaten everything on the menu and there isn't a bad item there. Everything is carefully prepared, portions are perfect and service is friendly and efficient. Having the owner and her Mom visit the tables and chat up diners is a lovely treat. Went in for lunch on a Sunday. It was packed which can be a good sign. We love dumplings or all types. Started with veggie dumplings, very good then pork and cabbage, some veggie ramen ( not the kind you are thinking about) we sat at the window high was fine as we were not expecting 5 star dining. Tea was excellent, service fast and food was excellent. GT there bit early so you can grab a table as this place rocks during normal lunch and dinner time slots. read more

The grand mariner shrimp is nice, the fried crab buns (seasonal), the chicken ramen with tea egg, chicken katsu, and traditional pork & cabbage dumplings are great options. My wife, her friend, an I seen Daughters Dumplings on the TV with great reviews. Checked out the reviews on line, all looked good so we drove 1.5hrs to check it out for ourselves, wish I we never did... My wife is from S. Korea and I have lived in Japan and S.Korea and have been to many Asian resteraunts all throughout New England and NYC. I tell you this to establish our main diet is Asian food. I had the Gradmothers meat sauce on Spaghetti, it would be hard for me to give it 2 stars. 1st the noodles should not be spaggetti noodles, 2nd the spagetti noodles where not completely cooked. My wife had the Veg Ramen Noodles. You can get tastier Ramen from a packag at HMart., would give the Ramen 2.5 stars. My wife's friend ordered the Tofu rice bowl. All three of us would give it a 1 star. Taste was extremely strong (a mixture of mint and currie). It was so bad, we couldn't eat it. We also ordered the spring rolls, spicey chicken dumplings and the meat bread dumpling. Spring Rolls where just average (had much better) 3 star, the spicy chicken dumplings had no real taste (2 star) and teh breaded meat dumpling was mostly bread with little meat. 2 star.. Atmophere of the place was nice and friendly and the prices were good. Place was packed with people, so maybe it was just us and our taste for real quality authentic Asian food. Saw this place on Phantom Gourmet. Since my bf and I love dumplings we knew we had to try it. The owner ( whom I instantly recognized from tv) was there an even nicer and engaging than she was on tv. We had pan seared chicken dumplings and pan seared pork dumplings. To say that they were amazing would be an extreme understatement. The spring rolls are delicious. Natalie ( the owner) knew people ( whom i am presuming are regulars) by name. She asked us how we found out about her place and was talking to us about a restaurant her family used to own. She asked if we had 5 minutes to spare as she wanted to give us an order of golden fried buns to thank us for driving all the way out there. Love this place! Dumpling Daughter has become one of our go-to's in the Weston/Wayland area. It took us a few visits to navigate the menu and discover our favorites. The three-day pork ramen and soup dumplings are phenomenal. Many of the menu items are fresh riffs on traditional favorites -- we particularly like the dan dan noodles, chicken katsu, and the scallion pancake beef "sandwich." As others have noted, the price point for dumplings is a bit high, but you can get a delicious dinner for a family of 3 for around $35. Not bad at all for Weston. This restaurant is a gift for those of us with peanut allergies and/or MSG sensitivity. Not only is everything I've tried delicious, but I don't have to worry about cross contamination. Counter service to bare bones tables, with dishes that look like the traditional stereotype for Chinese restaurant that hide a surprisingly high price tag. The pan fried dumplings were fairly doughy with minimal filling, similar with the buns; surprisingly little meat to bun ratio, and the meat that was there wasn't terribly flavorful. The three day pork ramen was fairly basic; while the pork itself was very well prepared, flavorful, and rich (just as pork belly should be), the broth was fairly flat for what it was. Perhaps since this is more of a "Chinese" restaurant than a ramen shop, that should be expected, but keep in mind that those looking for "Tonkatsu" ramen will find disappointing results. Bubble tea is nice, though the lack of plastic seal on the top, as well as the slightly hard bubbles make for another slightly sub-par experience. Overall, while the food was pretty good, this may not be worth the trip from anywhere too far away. read more

I love this place and the food is great however, I feel the need to let the owner and her staff know how unappetizing and downright gross it is to watch the employees behind the counter scarf down food as they prepare your dinner . As I was waiting for my food staff behind the counter were chowing down on oranges and slurping soup while handling my food .I even saw the owner walk behind the counter with a mouth full of food ! So good! Finally, a successful modern take on Chinese food. So happy to have them near us.

I had my hopes up, but our first visit was not terribly good. 4 people having a dinner of soup and entree each totaled up to over $80. That's just a tad on the high side, especially if you compare it to the new Chinese restaurant in Wayland (China Rose Cuisine) where the food is more than twice as big and roughly the same price. To make matters worse, we took the meal home, and upon arrival, the vegetarian dumplings were missing from the order (not great news for the vegetarians in the room). I called and asked for a refund which they agreed to after asking me for a bunch of information (which I supplied). 20 minutes later, we got a voicemail saying they needed the information I had already supplied them in order to offer a refund, but that they'd be happy to offer a store credit. Way too much trouble for me, so I just dropped it. Food was not great, and parts of it had a strange smell. Unfortunately it was also cold and way too small a portion. Huge disappointment - like I said, I really had my hopes up. Good luck to them, and I hope they fix their problems. read more
