    Vegetable lo mein

We stopped by here for lunch and from what I've heard about this restaurant, I was expecting so much more. I wouldn't categorize this food as authentic Chinese food at all. Everything comes out in plastic containers even if you're dining in. You're using single use plastic silverware. The plates were the only thing that wasn't plastic. The dumplings (we ordered the pork and chicken ones) were so-so and reminded me of frozen dumplings you can get at the store. The lo mein was okay, but it reminded me of something I could get at a chain fast-food Chinese restaurant. The green beans were extremely salty and ended up being inedible for us, which was so disappointing. All this cost $44 which felt expensive since this was a quick dine in/takeout spot.

Sharing a side entrance with Heirloom, I wanted to try this dumpling-centric restaurant next door. I had the pan seared pork and cabbage dumplings and pan seared Shanghainese buns, which were fresh and flavorful. The interior has beautiful decorations including a large vase and especially gorgeous and endearing aquatic and nature-themed bathroom wallpaper. One odd thing is even when you eat there, they serve the food on plastic containers and plastic silverware, which many others have commented on too. But all in all Dumpling Daughter is a great place and I'd happily visit again.

Super friendly service on a very cute clean and cozy spot. Dumpling and bao were both delicious. Counter order and food is delivered quickly

I had the shrimp dumplings, which were OK, and the bbq pork bun, which was probably fine but too much vs meat for me. Hubby enjoyed his spicy tofu rice bowl and garlic eggplant, both of which were too spicy for me.

I just dropped in to grab some dumplings because I was next door and I couldn't resist. I've gone to Dumpling Daughter in Brookline a few times and loved it, and the Weston location doesn't disappoint! The guy at the counter was super friendly and the steamed dumplings I intended to nurse for a while went down in like 3 minutes

One of my absolute favorite spots - I LOVE the food and have adored getting to know the owner, Nadia. She is an amazing woman and is constantly giving back to the community! Dumpling Daughter has been a staple in my takeout rotation for years, and I've also dined in a number of times and have always been impressed. Top 3 orders: Fried chicken bao buns: everything about these are literally perfection. The crispy chicken, SUCH flavorful sauce, breading, and the textures of the bao buns contrasting with the chicken are perfection. Would highly recommend - these are a crowd pleaser for sure! Grandma's Beijing meat sauce over spaghetti: this has always been my #1 order in terms of a main dish. The sauce is incredibly unique and has both beef and beans - I've never been a fan of beans but this is SO GOOD!! I could eat 5 bowls in a sitting... Scallion pancakes: can you ever go wrong with these? No, but also...DD does them ESPECIALLY right. I would highly recommend as a side!! You have to try Dumpling Daughter on your next takeout or casual dinner night. I hope you love it as much as I do!!

Food was okay, dough for dumplings was too thick and meat in lo mein tasted old like it had been in a refrigerator, uncovered for a week.

They brought over tea in a teapot and cups. We ordered a large hot and sour soup to share between 4 of us and it was plenty. Also ordered the duck appetizer which was really good tender and flavorful. Kung pao chicken is the hubs' favorite and was pretty good. Ma po tofu was good quite spicy very soft tofu. Also got the vegetable dish the mixed vegetable dish which had the Chinese squash, carrots and mushrooms. Everything was delicious and I couldn't stop eating! They brought oranges with the bill which is nice - I like healthy desserts ha ha! The ambience decor is nice with beautiful painted designs on the walls. They also have 2 private rooms with seating for private parties. Service was a bit slow in the beginning but once they got the order the dishes came out fairly quickly. We had lots of leftovers and they packed it all nicely and even gave us 2 extra bags since we wanted to split the leftovers between us. We lucked out with parking and found free street parking very close to the restaurant. Overall good experience!

It had been my first time in this restaurant and they have at least one private room for events. The food was good, I enjoyed their signature smoked duck dish. We had brought a cake from outside and they allowed us to cut and eat it after our meal. I have fond memories from this! We happened to be in the area today and got some takeout kung pao chicken and stir fry rice cakes with pork and they were tasty. It's a little far for us but I'd come again.

Colorful menu, combo plates available at all times, and duck sauce and mustard on the tables in squeeze bottles. Nothing concerning, but feels much less glamorous than nearby Lotus Blossom and Jindu. If those places are upscale, think downscale here. -- Sweet and Sour Chicken (on a dinner combo): Six lengthy fingers with good meat-to-batter ratio, overcooked to over harden the crusts, and with sweet and sour sauce served in the side as standard practice. But what a sauce: very dark red, with intense flavor and good smoothness, similar to Lotus Blossom, but with the addition of pineapple chunks and slices of onion and bell pepper for a little crunch. The excellent sauce made up for the overdoneness. Above average to well above average. -- Egg Roll (on the combo): Standard old school model with relatively crisp exterior and a grassy green interior comprised of celery, with some pork in there too. Decent flavor but not intense. Good vessel for the duck sauce and mustard. Above average. -- Boneless Ribs (on the combo): With the dinner combo, you get an extra appetizer for the extra $2, so well worth it even at lunchtime. They included far more than the promised 6 pieces and flavor was as close to the 1970s as it gets these days, thanks to the classic glaze and char. Some were perfectly fatty and caramelly moist or juicy, some were too fatty and borderline blubbery, and some lacked fat and were dry. On the average, above average, but the best were elite. Worth exploring as a standalone appetizer. -- Pork Fried Rice: Midrange color, lukewarm temperature, simple preparation of rice, pork bits, and nothing else. Dry and not much flavor. Doable, but a little below average. Some highs, some lows, some promise. I don't envision this place joining my Chinese food rotation, but I can see a return to investigate more.
