Love this place! Excellent quality food and the bubble tea is perfect- not too sweet and doesn't make you feel guilty for drinking so much sugar afterwards. Delicious dumplings and they had an excellent noodle dish called Grandma's meat sauce over spaghetti. The most delicious pork belly bao buns...a must try. I tried to sesame noodles which were okay. Traditional pork buns were a bit dry. The place was very clean and a really nice takeout. I actually enjoyed it. Popped into Dumpling Daughter to escape the Boston summer heat and was pleasantly surprised with the great variety of dumplings, steamed buns, and noodle bowls that they have available. The scenery of the interior is more modern with roughly 7 tables for seating. Generally, Dumpling Daughter is predominantly takeout. However, I do like the option of indoor dining as well. The service we received was quick and very friendly. Our server was very attentive to our table. We had requested two orders of dumplings and one order of steamed buns and our order was brought out to us as they were ready. All our requested food had been brought out within a 7-10 min time span. The reason for 4 stars is that even if you eat at the restaurant everything comes individually wrapped in sooo much plastic. I understand that not every restaurant has the space for dish washing but it's just so wasteful. Even if they could get compostable utensils and napkins and a recycling bin that would be a huge step in the right direction. read more

If you appreciate real asian food you would not disgrace the food as bad as this place. Just judging by the picture I had low expectations, but I gave it a try because of the good ratings. Maybe I just ordered the wrong things, but I came after work on a Friday night. I at least expect the food to be fresh. I ordered the pork leek dumplings which they must have been rationing the filling and had little to no flavor. Apart from the soy sauce on the side. The crab rangoons looked like they were sitting under a heat lamp for 6+ hours. And tasted like it too. Also the filling tasted way too strong of salty crab. The spicy wonton dish had only a bit of spice and unusually sweet instead. Not at all what I expected. The cold cucumber side dish which is supposed to be a sour spicy flavor was instead a mix of light spice and mild pickle juice. I am not trying to be racist, but the ramen was mediocre with chasu that tasted like pork buns and egg that tasted like marinated tea eggs. The noodles were over cooked and the soup was some mixture of other chinese broths. It felt like a chinese mixed noodle monstrosity. Overall I rated each dish out of 10 and came out to a whopping 9/50. Unfortunately I will have to round up to a 1 star review, but this place has to have one of the most inflated ratings that I have ever seen. We need more real reviews please. read more

My husband and I stopped into this restaurant for lunch I have to say we were deeply disappointed. The pros: we ordered a bowl of the ramen, which was really good. We also had an order of the bao. Equally tasty. The cons: we ordered an assortment of dumplings. They were quite disappointing. The dumpling shell was very doughy and thick, thus taking away the flavor of the filling. We also ordered the Dan Dan noodles, which was essentially a glob of over cooked noodles topped with a small sprinkling of minced meat. I gave the dish back to the host and he just argued that he doesn't understand why I would not like the dish. He didn't even offer to give me a refund or exchange it for another dish. To top things off, both of us had indigestion for the rest of the afternoon. I had such high hopes for this place but it greatly disappointed us and we will not be coming back. read more

Anyone else got snowed in last Saturday and wished they had ordered two black milk tea instead of just one? I've seen some amazing Yelp pictures (specifically from BostonBestEatsX's) and decided to order some takeout from here since I was passing through to hibernate up north. This place was absolutely adorable. Fun red seats with wooden tables in a bright open room, I would have loved to dine here. Butter Miso Noodles- Very buttery but I didn't taste the miso. Pan Seared Pork and Napa Cabbage Dumplings- You can't come here and not try out their dumplings! Oh-- We devoured it. Soy Simmered Beef- I have to say, I like this because it's the way they cut their beef. It's different than most Asian places that serve any type of beef dishes. This was thinly sliced so it's easy to eat and it soaked up the marinade which tasted awesome. Black Milk Tea- I love seeing that dark colored tea right before the milk get mixed in. It tasted amazing and up there on my best bubble tea I've ever had list. Overall Service: Customer service was great. The phone call for pickup was nice and quick. Food was ready when I got there and they freshly made my black milk tea which didn't take long at all. Any experience that's seamless is excellent in my book. read more

I wanted to like this place. Such a cute name, cute location, cute concept - but none of it came close to what I thought it could be. From the name you would think they specialized in dumpings. But no. They have maybe 4 or 5 different types, nothing special, all generic ones you could probably find in the frozen aisles in an Asian grocery store. The shrimp dumplings I had were so bland. If not for the slight texture change, you wouldn't know where the dumpling dough ended and the shrimp began. I've had MUCH better at mediocre dim sum places. They have a few variety of other Asian entrees like rice bowls and ramen, but nothing to write home about. If you're in the area, don't have time, and you absolutely need to satisfy your Asian food cravings, then make this your last resort - and don't get dumplings. read more

The latest episode of the Great British Baking Show where they were focused on Japanese food got me longing for steamed buns. I force my dining partner to watch so he was also pining for authentic steamed buns which worked out well when we passed a plaza with the Dumpling Daughter inside. Their menu is huge. It was hard to pick just a few items. We ordered online (you order online and then call the number on the window to pick up your order outside) and it was a pretty simple process. We decided on taro bubble tea, braised pork belly Taiwanese style bun, pork gyoza and three day pork ramen. Pick up was easy and fast and we were on our way after about 10 minutes. Not going to lie - we opened that pork gyoza and ate it in the car. It was heavenly. I loved the soy sauce. Next up, the braised pork belly buns. I was a little disappointed as the flavor just wasn't as good as the gyoza and the bun was a bit chewier than expected. Still good but not sure I would order that particular bun again. The taro bubble tea had fantastic boba - tasted as good as KFT's home-made boba. Finally, later that night I had the ramen and wow, it was awesome. The broth was so good. I loved the pork and the noodles. Not a fan of the eggs but that's just me and those always go to my dining partner. For around $40, it was a lot of food and the quality was amazing. Tried the Weston MA location after seeing this on chronicle such a disappointment stay away ordered the pork belly ramen bowl for dine-in, it came out in a plastic bowl the eggs were brown and it looked like it was pre made and sitting around they brought the broth out in a separate bowl so I could mix it myself, disgusting. Even the steamed dumplings were nothing special. No excuses the place wasn't even busy. It was 3:00 PM in the afternoon. Forget about the Bun Buns cold and tasteless I could go on and on the young kid the just came on shift was eating at the register so unprofessional. read more

I do want to give this place a 4, and I might have if I'd ordered different things. First the good. Smells amazing! And the Petit Chicken with Slow Cooked Sichuan Sauce dumplings are yummy. The sauce is amazing. My options were to drink the sauce like a soup, order white rice to soak up the sauce and eat that, take the sauce home and make my own Nishiki rice. I went with option 2 and found the rice here inferior quality. And like maybe it's been In "warming" for too long. I also tried the kim chi. It's okay, but I wouldn't give it any awards. Wont get it again. I wouldn't go out of my way to get here. But if here, stop in and have some dumplings. They'll only put you back $6 for 6. Rice bowl or noodle dishes $9-$15. I like pan fried and didn't see the option , but now I do see pan fried on menu. The wings were nice honey flavor, but breads had a nice crunch taste and wings good. Overall, fresh food and well prepared, packaging for to go was also good to save and reheat later. I recommend highly and pork and chives some best I have had. I judge quality by taste but also looking at all the posted pictures on Yelp by their reviews for Dumpling Daughter. All pictures show consistent fresh quality. Got takeout from here on my way home from an appointment. The food was ready at the time promised which was good. That said, it was downhill from there. Once home, I opened the bag to find that they had put the ginger sauce in with the food!! It had spilled all over the food which was awful. Dumpling Daughter is pretty mid. The drinks don't have too much flavor but the pearls have always been the perfect consistency. The bbq pork bun is delicious, but the other buns are just okay imo. The fried foods all have this specific flavor that i don't necessarily enjoy and makes me feel kind of nauseous. The service has always been very friendly and I've only ever gotten takeout so I can't comment on the sit down aspect of the business. read more

we got take-out from here this past weekend, and the food was incredible! some of the best dumplings that i've ever had. we got the pork pan-seared dumplings, the pork ramen, the beef ramen, and the crab Rangoons. it was all SO good, and i can't wait to go back. luckily i don't live too close, or i'd eat all my food from here. the crab rangoons were made with fresh crab, which made such a difference in the final product. the pork belly in the ramen was tender and fell apart easily with so much flavor. the broth was delicious. the beef ramen was good, but i don't think i'd get again because the other items on the menu are just so good. they had my order ready a few minutes early from the suggested time that i ordered. the food was still warm by the time i got home. i hope to come back soon and work my way through the rest of the menu! read more

I went with a few friends and ordered pork ramen, dumplings, crab rangoon, bbq pork buns, and beijing beef noodles. All of the food was great except for the bbq pork buns. The bbq buns were just not very tasty so I wouldn't recommend getting those. But I would definitely try their noodles and dumplings! Really disappointed with our experience and with how the place has changed over time. The buns seemed to have been reheated by microwave; the outer bread covering became too hard to cut through even with a plastic knife. We ate in but everyone was brought to our table in take out boxes. No bowls or plates to eat from until I asked specifically for it. When I asked for soy sauce and chili sauce, I was told that was no longer available as they were "too expensive." Everything was sort of the antithesis of a good Chinese restaurant, and really expensive as well. It's unfortunate given the dearth of good Asian restaurants in the area. read more

Love this spot in downtown Weston. I first came here when they first opened years ago. I've been back since a couple times and brought family, and occasionally I'll get it during my lunch breaks at work. It's very convenient if you're craving ramen and authentic Chinese food but don't want to make the trek to Boston. The decor is nice, it feels clean and if you're dining in you can order and seat yourself. The ramen isn't as generous of a bowl compared to other spots, but it's still filling. If you're still hungry or are here with friends I would definitely recommend the pan fried dumplings, and pork belly bao. The pork belly is thick and braised very nicely. And for dessert I love to finish it off with the golden brown buns with condensed milk. They always come out warm and just melts in your mouth. This is a fun spot to also pick up some bubble tea. Their boba tasted very fresh the last time we were there. And their original milk tea isn't too sweet and it tastes authentic. Issues with other every time I go there, they have a vegan menu and they still mess it up. Additionally, they promised to refund as they put eggs on my food when I'm vegan but they never did. It's been 3 weeks and every time I talk to them they give me different excuses. Other time they put chicken in it. It's every single time. I will not recommend if this place. read more

This place is amazing. Pork Buns have always been my obsession and this is a way to get them even if you're on the go! The open sandwich was even better with succulent pork belly that was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I wish I lived closer but it's probably good that I don't cause I'd be here everyday!
