Ordered the hand pulled noodles which had pork . Excellent noodles, flavorful broth. 1/2 I have for lunch tomorrow. Ordered the mini fried buns . Wow... mini fried donut taste and the dipping sauce was like eating honeydew donut crack sauce...super rich and must get recipe as intense dip for the mini buns . Appears the go to place for The Chinese people seeking authentic dishes... All food I saw walking by the table I saw was delicious and the beef or lamb skewers look to be a must buy .

Shaanxi Gourmet has delicious authentic Chinese food without having to drive into the city. The restaurant itself is very clean and casual and the staff are very friendly. They make everything in-house. I started with a lychee iced tea, delicious! My first plate was soybean paste homemade noodles. This was this noodles in a mouthwatering soybean meat sauce. The flavors were amazing! This dish also had fresh sliced cucumbers that tasted really good mixed into the dish. My next dish was pork intestine in a brown sauce. Pork Intestine, in general, is like eating extremely tender pork. It is delicious! This also had my favorite wood ear mushrooms, fermented black beans. This dish was a showstopper! I also tried their crispy orange sesame chicken. This was crispy, with nice flavoring without a heavy sauce. Definitely recommend! The egg rolls were a mix of cabbage, celery, and meat. They had a nice flavor. The duck sauce was traditional with a little spice added, possibly cinnamon. For dessert I had warm tapioca. It was also delicious! The restaurant quickly filled up. It seemed the majority of the guests were speaking Chinese! I take that as a good sign. Shanxi is part of Northern China. I think they do an amazing job honoring their food. This is a must try!

My family loves doing take out from Shaanxi Gourmet. We often order the good pomfret in brown sauce fish dish, shredded potato, and veggie delight. We've never dined in before so we thought we'd give it a try this time, and we had a great experience! The restaurant is quite big and there's plenty of seating. Customer service was excellent. We also tried a new dish - the pork dumplings. It was delicious and it's probably my favorite dish at Shaanxi Gourmet! They give free dessert (taro pudding so the tapioca) - it's delicious! Overall rating: 10/10

    Liang pi cold noodles

Everything was good. Cold noodles had a good amount of gluten cubes and cucumber with peanut /sesame sauce. Liang pi, a favorite. Eggplant with garlic was very generous. Good flavor and texture, not too soft. Fried intestines with celery excellent as always. This is the only Chinese restaurant I come off the Pike for.

Mediocre is the right word to describe the food here. It's not tasted bad but really nothing impressed us. The tofu is chewy, the beef is thin, not the right kind as it's named, the noodle soup tasted like vinegar. Service is okay. Environment is okay.

This place gets better and better every time I go. Now that they're open for dine in I think it's one of the best Chinese restaurants in MetroWest. GeLe chicken, Qishan noodles, and all their dumplings are must haves.

Very authentic Chinese food. But you have to be true spicy Chinese food lover to enjoy it.

Call first, it might be temporary closed. The restaurant is closed but Yelp shows open. We were so sad after 40 mins driving.

Stopped in for lunch. Ordered a lunch special of chicken…read moreteriyaki, boneless ribs, egg roll, pork fried rice. Ordered appetizer of pork dumplings pan fried .. Fresh , and good value . The egg roll was excellent and nice crisp crunch, ingredients fresh and had a nice flavor. The chicken teriyaki was one of best I have had elsewhere. It was marinated and velvet tender. I assume a curry marinade maybe as was tasty. Boneless ribs were over cooked and reheated as shown in my picture. The pork fried rice was loaded with diced pork . The pork dumplings were fresh ingredients, but the dumpling exterior shells was the too hard shell type vs a soft noodle type. But the pork dumplings were excellent ingredients. It was as excellent lunch and priced fair and reasonable.

So I will admit that my attention to the details of my food was less than it could have been. One of the privileges of being a Yelp reviewer is that when the people you are eating with are boring, You can tune them out using the excuse that you are thinking about what you are going to say for your Yelp review. This has been a lifesaver for me more times than I can count. There was no need for this in Natick where the people I was with were amazing. That said - we did eat food. In this case food off the Chinese side of the menu. Everything was good. There are probably at least 200 places you can get American Chinese like this in the Greater Boston area. But there is no need to pass on Shanghai and Tokyo looking for something else. They are completely reliable.

First few visits back after they reopened after fire damage were good. All weeknight dinner visits…read more -- Har Gow: Shrimp dumplings fresh and flavorful, but the vessels were so gummy they stuck to each other and the serving tin. Average. -- Beef Teriyaki: A four-stick serving had bumpy, lightly-charred and lightly sweet surfaces, along with good tenderness underneath. Decent marinade flavor. Above average to well above average. -- Mongolian Beef: An outstanding presentation of beef slivers thick enough to be tender, while also getting nicely crisp and a vigorous flavor superior to the teriyaki. Scallions added some extra kick in addition to the sauce. Really good feel and really good taste bring it really close to elite. -- Pork Fried Rice: Lovers of dark pork fried rice are in for a treat, because this is among the darkest and has dark flavor to match. Fresh, hot, not a reheat, and not sitting for hours. I could do without the peas, but all of the other additions-- egg, onion, bean sprouts, and big chunks of fresh pork-- were top notch. A benchmark rice if you're into this style. Elite. -- Chicken with Ginger and Scallion: Long and winding chicken with good tenderness and noticeable ginger flavor, with bold scallions the unsung hero. Closer to a very good dish than a great dish, but bonus points for being neither sweet nor spicy, but still bringing plenty of flavor. -- Chicken Fried Rice: Another example of bold, dark, fresh-cooked rice, this time with chicken. I was expecting shreds and got finger-length pieces that were much more impressive. Elite. -- Boneless Ribs: Lightly lacquered with shiny cross sections, so they were moist, but a bit fatty. Above average for sure, but not elite or close like some other dishes. -- Chicken Fingers: Fresh, hot, and crisp, with some small ones less dazzling, but most pleased. Good meat-to-batter ratio. Optional sweet and sour sauce add-on did dazzle, coming in sweet but dark ruby color and complex. Not your daddy's sauce; this didn't have pineapples and cherries but it did have more flavor. -- Chicken Teriyaki: Charring, coating, tenderness, juiciness, and marinade all combined to make this one of the better renditions. Well above average to near elite. -- Yuen Yang Beef: Very impressive dish, from the quantity, to the textures (perfect on both the beef and the bed of string beans), to the flavors (savory-tingly on the beef, though without much heat, and gingery on the string beans). -- Duck Sauce: Barely a variation from straight apple sauce. Not a strength. Only negative on service is that sometimes one server handles the entire dining room, so there might be waits, but even still, service is always friendly and efficient. This place sometimes gets a bad rap for being expensive, but I believe the quality warrants the prices and that there's good value thanks to execution and consistency.
