It is one of those pricier chinese restaurant with average charge 15.00 per item. The entrees are served with a side of rice so that could account for the higher price. I had to ask for Chinese mustard. Usually condiments such as soy sauces, duck sauce or mustard are provided with the meal. had the chicken and broccoli with brown rice. Placed an order for pick up- restaurant looked nice- very excited for the food as Chinese food in metro west is mediocre at best. Unfortunately this just wasn't good. My family eats the basics: chicken fingers, peking ravioli, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and general gaus chicken...Peking ravioli seemed undercooked, and general gaus was over fried and drowning in liquid. The sweet and sour had no sweet, not red enough.. I don't understand why all these restaurants over fry everything- I don't need my food in 10 min. Chicken should be easy to make. This is our family's favorite Chinese restaurant in the Metrowest area - we love it. The chicken with broccoli includes all white chicken breast meat and perfectly steamed broccoli, the Peking ravioli isn't too doughy and tastes terrific, and the take-out orders are consistently warm, fresh, and delicious. read more

Wondrous decor when you step in. We ordered the beef pancake along with the Curry thin noodles with chicken. All came out relatively quick. The noodles had a great kick to it but manageable. In taste. The beef roll wrap dough corners were slightly hard but had good flavors and textures. read more

I stopped in for lunch as single diner . Maybe new owners here? Ad didn't recognize prior people? Waiter sits me over in corner in back table with no linens while other patrons entering seated at window view or any tables adorned with linens? Why as single diner with less of a potential tip... he was right... I didn't appreciate this treatment , tip better if treated like all patrons. Ordered lunch special... now comes no longer with soup or appetizer. Says 3.00 extra for soup, 3.00 extra for appetizer, no hot tea? I ordered the trio in black sauce of chicken, beef, shrimp... was fresh , fried rice fresh.. shrimp miniature like from a supermarket shrimp can you buy next to the tuna fish cans ??? Then 2 dinky chicken wings 1/2 wings ... see these in picture... that calculation is 1.50 for each dinky wing... That sent me off deep end... won't be back.... I'll eat next door at Jin's where I eat as well or The Great Wok up the street... I started going to Jin's next after last visit here, figured I would try this place again... now add on for soup, 2 1/2 wings another 3 bucks... now a 30 bucks lunch... out pricing lunch people. I want to address some of the negative reviews here. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant. I recognize that it is not "authentic Chinese," but neither am I. The food is always fresh and delicious. I am reading complaints in the reviews about decreasing portion size but seriously folks, have you been to a restaurant lately? Prices of food and labor are up, and a burger costs $30 at the local bar, so let's get real. I recommend the Walnut Shrimp, Chicken with ginger and garlic, fried vegetarian dumplings, buddah's delight, and Moo Shi Vegetables. This place has really deteriorated. I placed an order recently and none of the dishes were prepared the same as they once were. The menu reads the same - - but the preparation is completely different. The food did not seem fresh at all. The chicken dish contained soggy vegetables and seemed as if it was reheated from days before! The pork in the pork fried rice consisted of bright red pieces of pork fat. The food was far from fresh. I heard this place was sold so that could be why it's gone so downhill. It's just not the same, at all I wish I were kidding. A friend brought lunch yesterday from CK Shanghai and it was delicious: I had beef with broccoli, and he had chicken with broccoli (which looked really good, but he had peanuts added to it so I had to pass). The lunch portions were huge, the sauce was delicious and unlike many places it wasn't heavy and/or greasy... it was just right. We got a few dishes to share in our group. The seafood with vegetables and the triple delights were good. They tasted similar with the same brown sauce. We also had the porkchops in a sweet sauce. Friends brought takeout from this restaurant- and it was some of the best Chinese food I've ever had!! This coming from someone who a) has worked for years downtown in the Chinatown area and b) generally wouldn't choose Chinese food for a meal out. The flavors were fresh, well spiced, and had some unique combos: yu Hsiang chicken (fabulous with eggplant), loved the Szechuan shrimp, and the cucumber salad was so good I'm hoping to recreate it! Years ago my husband & I had lunch with friends at New Shanghai in Chinatown - best Chinese food we'd ever had. New Shanghai disappeared a while ago, but I was delighted to discover that one of their chefs had opened this restaurant in Wellesley. Service was extremely prompt and friendly. Atmosphere was classy but comfortable. As others have said - the sesame/peanut noodles are the BEST - not that gloppy oversweet mess you usually get. The Shanghai cucumbers weren't as spicy as I'd hoped, but they worked very well with the noodles. Broccoli with garlic sauce included water chestnuts and red peppers. The sauce was a terrific blend of sweet & spicy. Large portions and reasonable prices. (I do wish they offered lunch specials.) We're eager to try many other items on the extensive menu. read more

We moved to this neighborhood in August 2018. Since then we've averaged about 1 take-out a month from CKShanghai. There's no doubt the food is consistently delicious. The quality of the food is impeccable. We will continue to frequent this establishment for the foreseeable future. But... Never take out after 9. It seems that at least in two of the 10+ instances, since we left work late and therefore had a late pickup, the food was bland. The kitchen closes around 9 pm and place closes at 9:30 pm on weekdays. The general gao was fried, but barely had any sauce on it. The crab rangoons were underfried. The lo mein was uninspiring. Have no doubt that these, our regular take out options, have been dependably delicious 80% of the time. But the last time, all three items didn't hit the mark, making for a disappointing late night dinner after a long day at work. read more

We have been to CK Shanghai a number of times over the past few years and have always enjoyed our meals there...until earlier this week! On this visit with my wife, our two boys and my mother, the service was rushed and impersonal. Our server acted like she had better things to do. As for the food, two of the three appetizers we ordered were fine (golden fingers and boneless ribs.) However, the scallion pancake was thick, dense and chewy - like an uncooked pancake. It was kind of nasty. We also ordered four dishes, two of which were fine - Hunan Spicy Shrimp and Steamed Chicken and Veggies (for my mom.) The 1/2 Peking duck arrived looking well-cooked, yet tasted very gamey (even for duck!) We found it dried out, as if cooked the prior day! As our server came to clear the table, I indicated to her that we didn't really care for the duck - witnessed by half of it still left on the serving plate, she ignored us.) The chicken in our chicken fried rice tasted "old" and dried out. Overall, we were very disappointed with one of the worst Chinese meals we've had in quite a while. read more

CK Shanghai has never disappointed. As a resident of Natick, I have to travel a town or two over to find good Chinese food. Some of the more memorable dishes I've had there are their Won Ton soup, Peking Ravioli and chicken with cashew nuts. The service is great as well. read more

CK Shanghai now serves Dim Sum items on weekends and it's another 5 star experience! Love the cold dishes (especially during summer) such as the sweet & sour cabbage, the spicy cucumber and the vegetarian geese. The salty soy milk is quite a treat for Chinese like me who always crave for it. The dumplings are fresh, juicy and very plumpy just the way I love them. The dessert item, the red bean cake, was unique and perfect for us Chinese girls who always have a sweet tooth for red bean dessert. It has soft mochi and red bean inside with the crunchy bread layer outside. Very very delicious! I am looking forward to visit Boston again just so I can eat at CK's again! read more

Really good lunch specials. They have them until 3pm, and it includes rice as well. I like this place for take-out, as they do not deliver. The staff won't give you the warm and fuzzies, that's for sure. Half the time I visit, I feel like I'm an inconvenience to them. I'd rate this place well above those typical Chinese food places, where you walk in and order off a picture menu on the wall. It's not high end, but somewhere in the middle. Parking directly behind the building, with some free spots, or a row of paid meters. If all else fails, there's a lot across the street with metered parking. During lunch, this can be challenge. If I were out of town, I'd rate CK Shanghai a 4 for better-than-average, low-to-medium budget Chinese. CK Shanghai is unusual in that it fills the gap between the usual "cheap Chinese takeout" and haute-cuisine Chinese food (which is quite rare, esp., if you don't live in NYC or Beijing.)
