Prices are a bit less, ranging from $19 for Teppan Chicken with rice or a Yaki Soba (noodles) Chicken. We shared their pricier (but very delicious) Takumi Combo at $29 with choice of 2: (real filet mignon, chicken, Korean BBQ, shrimp, scallops, salmon) with fresh Teppan vegetables and rice. The order was big enough to share with two of us. Takumi only opens late afternoon until 10 pm. You can also order ahead of time via meal delivery apps like GrubHub. We highly suggest going since there are no Teppan restaurants in the immediate Oxnard or Port Hueneme area, and this food truck is surprisingly very authentic... minus the theatrical antics of a Benihana Teppan chef (which I can do without).

We picked up at their Esplanade Dr. location in Oxnard, staff were very friendly and our order was ready fairly quickly. We also ordered delivery from their 5th St. location and the food was still hot when it arrived (we are in Ventura). You get lots of food and each item we've tried is delicious. Definitely on our rotation when we get that craving for steak or seafood.

Sandwiches are serviced on Hawaiian rolls which don't hold up well to the weight and moisture of the chicken and all of the toppings. This makes the sandwiches harder to eat than they should be. The highlight was the chicken was cooked perfectly. It was juicy and the breading was consistent. Flavor however was lacking a bit, not talking just heat, but flavor. Sides wise the fries were decent, I'd skip the Mac and Cheese as the pasta was mushy and the sauce lacked flavor. Decent spot in a pinch, but there's better spots for hot chicken IMO. Staff was busy so hard to give an opinion, I ordered from a kiosk, which is always a bit of a let down.

Sometimes I ask for chorizo instead of carnitas, and they're always happy to make the switch. The food is always fresh, and everyone is super friendly. Definitely one of those food trucks I'm happy to see parked nearby! Tip: On Sunday mornings, you can usually find them parked near Gonzales Road and Williams Road, across the street from The Artisan apartments in Oxnard. If you see them, stop! The potato tacos alone are worth it.

Though the…read morefood is delicious, the service I received today 08/15/2026 @4pm was terrible and unprofessional. I placed my second order from this place, and whoever the (male worker) was that I spoke with left a really bad taste in my mouth. I requested an additional red and green sauce as well as a side of raw onions and he proceeded to give me an ugly attitude/ tone of voice saying that it is an extra fee and that only this time he was going to honor it, yet the day prior I ordered the same thing and the women I spoke with (who was very kind and professional) said there was no problem. I'm not sure if he is the owner but treating your customers in such manner will not take you far in life! Please do better!

I went back and simply asked them to fix the mistake, but they refused. They put me on the phone with the owner of the cart, and he also refused to make it right. I ended up calling the police for a civil standby/civil call regarding the refund issue. Even after the police spoke with the owner, he still refused to refund the money. That is some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The fact that they would rather fight the customer at all costs over their own mistake is ridiculous. This was not complicated. They made my order incorrectly, refused to correct it, refused to refund me, and handled the entire situation terribly. I will never visit this location again.
